I believe in supporting our communities by patronizing small businesses and I am so disappointed that I had this experience. I encourage any reader of this review to take heed of the fact that, as of the date of this writing, the ability to write reviews on Facebook is not available for this company, and ask yourself why a company would do that. ************************ I paid Joe's Tree Service my entire tax refund, and then some, to remove a large tree from the backyard. Sometime during the removal, our next door neighbor spoke to Joe outside, indicating they would take some of the wood, so Joe understood that to mean he could ditch pretty much the entire tree, except for the small branches, in the neighbor's front yard. There are huge chunks of the tree trunk that one person couldn't even lift by themselves. I was able to speak to my neighbor two days after Joe's Tree Service dumped the tree in their yard. I asked the neighbor if he intended for the tree service to leave all that wood on his front lawn, he said no, they just wanted a little bit for burning in their backyard fire pit. (I acknowledge that I was not a party to this conversation and concede that it's quite possible the neighbor did not convey his wishes effectively.) So I let Joe know there had been a misunderstanding somehow and the neighbor didn't have a way to saw, split or haul all that wood, and I told him we would really appreciate it if he could come get it and do with it whatever they normally do with trees they remove. And first Joe tried to tell me he would only come get the wood if the neighbor pays him! Then he backed off that and said he *may* be able to tell the neighbor how to get rid of it, but the neighbor has to call him himself. Until somebody deals with this eyesore, me and all my neighbors get to look at it every time we look outside. And I had to pay a pile of money for the honor of being ticked off every time I look outside. Which ticks me off even more. Joe contends once a tree has been removed from a property then it's completely acceptable for him to leave the tree anyplace he can find to do so... even if it means the tree is left laying in a yard 30 feet from the front door of the person who payed to have them remove it. Regardless, when it was brought to his attention that there was a misunderstanding between himself and my neighbor, an honorable business person would have made it right for the person who was their paying customer. He just saw an opportunity to dump the tree and take the money and run. This situation has been a nightmare to deal with and so I encourage anyone to find somebody else if you need tree work done!!! Joe may bid under other estimates, but as the old adage goes, "you get what you pay for." There are plenty of other honorable tree services in Springfield to choose from.

Edgar and has crew are fantastic to work with and do a wonderful job at an affordable rate. I only have good things to say--if you need tree work done, do yourself a favor and contact 4 Seasons Tree Service. I needed several trees cut back in anticipation of high winds. I called 5 tree services; only two replied in 10 days' time. Edgar was the only one who was prompt for his own chosen appt. From there, things just got better. Edgar and his team were able to get to it earlier than anyone else and offered the best price. Throughout the process, they were communicative and always arrived on time. I HAVE to emphasize this: THEY WERE THE ONLY BUSINESS TO PROACTIVELY OFFER COPIES OF BOTH BUSINESS LICENCE AND LIABILITY INSURANCE INFORMATION. On top of it all, Edgar is always willing to take the time to thoughtfully answer any questions I may have for him, even when the answer doesn't lead to more work. I would add that NONE of the workers appeared to be "cash laborers". Edgar's not cutting corners to increase his profits by hiring "unskilled" day laborers. Each worker took to his task without any supervision whatsoever--a telling practice of skilled labor--when climbing and cutting trees with power equipment-chain saws, woodchipper, and cherry picker.

We saw 4 Seasons working in our neighbor's yard. They looked experienced and efficient. We had them over to look at our tree and promptly Edgar sent us his quotes two days later. Edgar communicated promptly and clearly about the quotes and how he and his crew will do to the tree. He gave us three different quotes (three choices), and we chose the one that fit us the best. They showed up to the job on time, cut down the problem-tree efficiently, and left our yard and driveway clean! It was a pleasant experience working with Edgar and his crew.
