SH will not confirm an arrival time or offer a window when their team will show up. I knew this based on the FAQ's on their site but I still found it to be an inconvenience as we had some last minute, heavy appliances to move before their arrival and limited hands to do it. We didn't know if they were coming at 8am or 2pm. After talking with the installer on the first day, he offered to text me on day two with an estimated time of arrival which was super helpful and most appreciated. And, the text communication with the installer came in handy when one of the two left their personal items on my trashcan and needed to return to retrieve it. Overall, it was a good experience and I am happy to recommend them. But I do think that an additional layer of communication would be most helpful for the customer.

(Owner) to reply to my post & I did exactly as he suggested. I responded to the e-mail address he provided copying the General Manager and asking he be provided a copy as well. I outlined the 9 times I contacted Stronghold since April 1,2024 asking for a quote & appointment to repair my floor. I even provided my contact info and my Stronghold identifier SR-CSR-374 so they can locate my service request. Now 12 days later since my last request, still no response. I was really hopeful I would hear from somebody. I guess I was right, business is just too good; they either don't have time or don't care to address repairs. I'm truly disappointed as I've recommended them on numerous occasions, handing out their business cards to several prospective customers.

Our Kitchen Project: (Just Completed)…read more My wife and I had been wanting to have our kitchen remodeled for several months. When it finally came time to do it, we started going through the process of trying to find the right contractor for the project. We spent several weeks researching until we came across Yorklyn Construction. Once we met Ben, we felt like the search was over. The advice, detailed thought he put into our plans brought a sense of comfort to us. The quotes were fair and where we hoped they would be. Starting with Ben, our experience fanned out to the rest of folks working for Yorklyn. Tom, who managed our project, was absolutely in touch with our thoughts as the project transitioned from demo to the "rebuild". He did a better job of "detail nitpicking" than I could have. From the beginning they stated it clearly, "we want it done right for you." They certainly lived up to that and exceeded it. The carpentry work with the cabinets they constructed all the way down to the floor thresholds / transitions were perfect, and I mean perfect. I'm sure a lot of contractors hold similar standards, but where Yorklyn pulls ahead is with how they treat your property, residence and your family. You become a bit more than a customer. To Whom This May Concern:…read more Typically, we are not people that post reviews. Oh, if we really don't like something we have been known to speak up directly to the company. We have to have very strong feelings to post in a public forum. After all, saying something about a person's lively hood should not be taken lightly. Often people are quick to criticize and slow to praise. We would like to change that. We have a house that was in need of updates and repairs. We also where in desperate need of storage. We invited several companies to come by and tell us what they thought and to give us a bid. Two companies that came by and told us the project was too big for them and no bid the project. Finally, it came down to two companies from the area, Yorklyn Construction being one. Yorklyn shot straight with us. They told us the truth, not what they thought we wanted to hear. The bids came in pretty close but Yorklyn impressed us with their candor and professionalism which gave us confidence that once they agreed to something they would meet their commitments. We were told that the process would be long (several months) and that we would basically be living in a construction site. Like I stated, they shot straight with us and it was a big project. Side note, they did everything they could to minimize any discomfort and were respectful that this was our home. We did have hiccup's but Yorklyn's staff and the sub-contractors where great. In a project this size there are hundreds of small decisions, but I can honestly say that everyone involved looked out for our best interests. If they thought we were making a wrong choice, they spoke up. For example, we chose the color of grout for the shower in a showroom. The tile guy put in the tile but thought we made a mistake with the color of the grout. He didn't just go and let us make a mistake. Instead he spoke up and brought it to our attention. He and the project manager discussed it with us and made suggestions that we elected to follow and are happier for that decision. We had a similar experience with their painter. Trust me things look different in a sample catalog or a showroom than in your house. I also wanted to say that their carpenters are great and their cabinet guy is amazing, very skilled and exact, a true craftsman. Our cabinets are just wonderful. We can also tell you that on the rare occasion that we did express displeasure, they made it right and when a problem was our fault, they were fair. Several of the Yorklyn staff and sub-contractors feel like friends. We have very warm feelings for these people. We have grown to trust them. Not only would we recommend them, we will call upon them in the future when we need skilled professional trades people. Often in business "quality "is defined as meeting or exceeding a customer's expectations, in our book, Yorklyn's work and the people that make up this company are the definition of quality. Communication with Dan and this business has been smooth and professional. The scheduled window of time I expected someone to arrive was between 8 and 10am. I received a message just before 7am that Dan would arrive at 8:30, which was indeed his arrival time. We did a house walkthrough and discussed what rooms needed cleaning and what needed done. Dan brought his own equipment and steam sanitized my floors, and cleaned throughout. This was a preliminary deep cleaning appointment and unfortunately his helper called off, but wow, this guy is a workhorse. In just a few hours he cleaned my house top to bottom and left things in good order. Floors look great, surfaces all look cleaned well, I'm very very pleased. The only area lacking was dusting (only noted in my bedroom) but I had a lot of clutter and we didn't discuss that. Overall a great job, I have no hesitation about having this business clean for me in the future and im waiting to schedule future appointments as I write this.

At 12:03 you sent a picture text message saying you were leaving which now makes sense because you can't keep track of your own schedule. Then when I finally get ahold you, you realize your time was wrong and say the appointment was 12-2 and you have a "5 minute waiting period". This was my first time having to get any repairs done on my house that I couldn't fix myself. One of the companies got back to me and said I needed a contractor. I get online this morning searching for contractors, hoping I was going down the right path. I find several and reached out to them. Less than 2 hours later Vince had already replied to get the ball rolling. I sent pictures of the damage and what I needed done. I didn't expect him to have any availability until next week, since it was the weekend and already late in the afternoon at this point. Vince called me up and said a storm was coming and if I was available he could come by and fix it, since he didn't want the rain to possibly cause any more damage. The amount of professionalism, efficiency and knowledge I received from Vince made me feel as though he actually cared. He explained what he was doing, the tools he was using, the behind the scenes on how construction crews put up siding, the spacing, and the measurements for it. Some companies would have just fixed it and not said anything leading you to wonder what was wrong with it to begin with. Vince made sure I understood, I almost feel like I can do contracting work now (probably just holding a ladder). The work was done quickly even though at that point had it taken longer than an hour I wouldn't have been mad. Overall Vince was a pleasure to work with, I'm grateful for his work, and expediency especially when he explained how his wife had to be hospitalized and maneuvering around that and work. Had I known that previously I would have given them the task of redoing my kitchen backsplash. Unlike most contractors CKC is a relatable husband/wife team. As a female customer I always felt comfortable and not spoken down to like I have with some home improvement companies. Katina is the office wiz and often does estimates, while Chris is the job foreman but will do an occasional estimate. In prior homes I used other flooring companies with varying degrees of happiness. I found CKC prices to be fair and their work quality high. I don't remember how I discovered them but I never saw them advertised anywhere. In the early stages of using them Chris did the work personally. In recent years I believe their business has grown so much that now his son does the actual install. Nevertheless I've not had a floor transformed that I was not happy with. Including my dining room which I thought was too far gone to save. When we removed the carpet we discovered thick tar like paper backing material stuck - yes stuck - to the original hardwood floor. It had been there for many years, probably glued intentionally by a previous owner. After trying to scrap it myself with no success I really thought this floor was a total tear out. After three days of work by CKC the floor was resurrected into a timeless hardwood beauty. Not one ounce of its former life, with the paper adhered remained. Thus began my long time relationship with CKC. My only disappointment as of late is that sometimes it takes a few days from them to call you back concerning an estimate, scheduling, or question. On the last job I wish I would have notified to tell me my floor is completely finished and when it can be walked on. But I believe this is due to their ever-growing work load. Overall I am a very satisfied customer and would and have recommended them to others.
