We were picked up at our hotel, all 28 of us climbed into two trucks and drove to our first destination Ballast Brewery. They have an amazing selection of beers to taste. Our Beer Guides were awesome. They shared their vast beer knowledge at the next brewery Saint Archer. Great beer there too! The truck rides were fun as they were full of beer and water. We hooked up our own music to listen to 80s tunes. (I'm 50 remember? :p ) Finally we got to Duckfoot Brewery where my gluten free brother could have some beer as well! Everyone could join in on this tour! Something for everyone! (They had wine at Ballast too) The catered bbq food was SO good. Snarfed that down with some great beer. Hotshots Brewery Tours is amazing. They made my Birthday pretty epic. The family and friends will be talking about it for awhile! They all want to go again. Im like YES..but you're all paying for it this time :p Nick and Canyon were beyond awesome (sorry if I spelled your name wrong :/ ) Paul is probably looking forward to not receiving anymore of my frantic emails..:p You guys did a fantastic job. A million stars!!!!

The old school firetruck was a pretty sweet ride! There was plenty of beer and water inside for us to begin the journey. You could also hook up your phone to the sound system and play your own music. Nick brought us to three breweries (Ballast Point, St. Archer's, & Mission) and at each one he would give us a little insight on the history of each brewery. Once inside, he set us up with some drinks, and even showed us around Ballast Point. HotShots also provided lunch, which was very delicious! We had chicken wings, subs, pizzas, and fries. Nick was a pretty friendly guy, and a great guide! While at each brewery, he hungout with us and played cards. He even beat us in Pusoy Dos (Filipino card game) numerous times. Pretty sure he was just hustling us though... Overall HotShots was a great experience. We got to go to 3 different breweries, drink a lot, and not have to worry about how to get to the next brewery. We all had a great time, and if you book them for your brewery tour, you'll have a great time as well!

She planned everything for me but only because I didn't know much about beer. She knows SD she knows the beer she knows the breweries and the industry. The group had doubts and didn't really care for my planning :| but after 20 minutes at the first brewery they started asking questions ... participating. And ended up glued to her words as she seeming mix dropped every other beer fact.

Being that our passion is craft beer, San Diego, is sort of our Mecca on the West Coast. I contacted Summer at Brew Hop and they set us up with a customized, personal brewery excursion. We hit Greenflash, Alesmith (on barrel-aged Speedway Stout release day), and Lost Abbey. Summer and Lars went above and beyond b read more » y hitting Alesmith earlier in order to acquire our release tickets for the Speedway Stout. We got to Alesmith with only a few minutes to wait for our numbers to be called. For anyone that has waited in line at Alesmith on special release days, for tickets, and then waited in line for your ticket numbers to be called, you know what a sweet deal this was for us! We had a great time, Summer was awesome! I would do this again in a heartbeat! And I would recommend it to all of my beer loving friends. The personal brewery tours were a great chance to actually get to talk to the brewers, themselves, not just the "tour guide". Fun! But would be so much cooler with a larger group! The bus was decorated for our event, they had waters champagne and beer in the bus. Besides being our driver Kenny was a great host and tour guide..... This beer tour was a great experience for my friends and I. We were celebrating my buddy's birthday…read moreso his wife helped organize this beer tour online. It was from 12-4 and included lunch at one of the breweries. The tour bus picked us up ON TIME, at my buddy's house. The drivers name was "Kenny". He kind of reminds me of Larry the cable guy with a gray beard Hahaha. He was very laid back and a great people person. The bus was also very clean and had a great stereo system. We were able to plug in our phones, play our own music, full blast, no problemo. Our intentions was to visit 4 breweries in 4 hours but we were only able to make it to 3. We visited Iron Fire, Refuge and Black Market Brewing Company. The breweries are only about 5-10 minutes from each other and each one of our stops included 4 tasters. At our last stop Kenny had about 5 pizzas waiting for us. At this point I don't remember where the pizza was from, or whether it was good or not, I just remember scarfing down about three slices. We had a private group of 14 people (16 gets you a discount). Each one of us paid $90 ($76 w/ discount). Unfortunately my pregnant wife couldn't partake in the drinking part of the tour but still had to pay full price. Cash tips are also highly recommended at the end of the tour. Kenny our tour guide, does carry "Square" so your able to pay for your tour with plastic. If your thinking about booking this tour DO IT! I highly recommend it for you and your friends. If you have questions about my personal experience (from what I can remember) I'de be glad to answer. There are things I left out purposely lol.
