The gym facility has top of the line equipment, and plenty of it whether you want a simple workout on power lifting or more popular advanced stuff. They offer awesome butt-kicker workout classes several times per day and all of the trainers i have experienced are excellent. They bring their own flavor to the workouts, but they are all encouraging, welcoming and friendly and they make sure you leave feeling like you've done some hard work. As far as the martial arts portion of the gym, the head BJJ coach is very accomplished and a great teacher. The classes are consistently good and you always have time to free roll at the end. There are some really good players, but I've not run into anyone who was overly aggressive or got nasty on the mats. I've also had the opportunity to take some of the muay Thai classes and the instructor is awesome. I thought I understood the stand up game, but he has taught me nuance that I didn't grasp before. Unfortunately my schedule changed and I can't make those classes anymore, but I really wish I could. Anyway, I wouldn't be as loyal to this place if they hadn't been so great to me. I highly recommend you checking it out and I'll see you on the mats.

Be very careful before signing a long-term contract with Strong Style MMA…read more In December 2023, I requested to freeze my membership due to an upcoming medical procedure. I gave written notice before the billing cycle started and even offered to pay for the 30-day period. Despite that, they refused to freeze my membership unless I submitted a doctor's note -- something that is not required anywhere in the contract for a freeze. The only part of the contract that even mentions a doctor's note refers to permanent disability or death for cancellation, not for a temporary freeze like in my case. Back in 2021, they froze my membership without asking for any documentation, and I know other members who've had the same. So clearly, they apply their rules selectively and withhold help when it matters most. Instead of treating me with fairness, they sent my account to collections for $860. This is not just poor customer service -- it feels like they're trying to profit off people's misfortune. If you're considering joining, do not sign a long-term contract. They are not helpful, not transparent, and not flexible when life happens.

Nice, cheap gym with friendly staff…read more I was a member for a little over a year, and they treated me well even after I moved and switched to a different gym. It's sort of small compared to other Fitworks locations (I've been to Rocky River and Richmond Hts) and doesn't quite have as many amenities/features/machines. It's certainly not as impressive on paper compared to other Fitworks, but the little things count. The gym doesn't get too packed, so you'll rarely have parking issues or be waiting for machines. They play tolerable music over the speakers. Their staff is friendly, and the members are nice. They hold contests and events from time to time to bring the community together and reward its members. Before I was a member, I was just piggybacking onto my significant other's membership, which had free guest privileges. She had to go on a vacation for 30 days. With no trouble at all, they let me use her membership for the 30 days she was gone, even though the rules state that members must accompany guests at all times. My current gym wouldn't have allowed this based on past experiences I've had with them. I signed up with them after my 30 days were up. The little things really do matter.

Beware of this scam!!! the only thing i can say is that if…read moreyou end up canceling your membership you will be charged for another year. stay away owners are money hungry and don't value customers. if you try to call and end your membership on phone they will hang up on you every time. very unprofessional. very unhappy.

I thought the…read moreinstructors were incredibly motivating the classes were motivating but paying for a regular gym membership and then adding the cost of Orangetheory on top of it was not cost-effective for me. FYI: there's a bit of trickery involved when you want to cancel your membership, they say they need 30 days notice but still it ended up being two months and I didn't want to fight it. I think Orangetheory is great, this location is great and I would definitely go back.

The girl at the front desk demanded $10 for a heart rate monitor loaner (Really?). Out of all the money I pay you for premier monthly you can't give a complimentary loner ONCE like other locations have for me? Very tacky on your part manager. (She called me to address this and turns out the lousy customer service is on her part, she runs the place with an iron fist). Finally, this instructor "Rob" would not let me deviate from the weight routine at all and forced a confrontation. Look, I lift up to 3 plates on each side at the gym and need to level up my workouts. Doing step ups or a simple plank isn't going to give me any gains or soreness. WAY under par considering all the other locations I use.

This LA Fitness branch intentionally tries to trap you into your membership…read more After signing up for the gym specifically to use the pool to train for a triathlon, the pool has been closed for about a month. There are no ways to alert customers to the status of the pool aside from just calling. Due to this issue, I called repeatedly to request a refund for a month of my membership since this was the only reason I became a member. I've gotten the run around: my number has been left for people to call me back twice only to have no one call. I finally went into the branch today to make the request. When they were unable to issue a refund for my lost month, I requested to cancel my membership - only to be told that I'm unable to cancel my membership unless the Operations Manager is there. And guess what? The Operations Manager only works M-F 9-5. How convenient that the only person who can cancel a membership is only available during hours most Americans are working. I don't believe for one second that they are unable to cancel my membership: they are trying any way they can to make it so hard to cancel the membership that people don't.
