My coffee purchase which I love.
    Frances L.

Mission: "At Highwheeler Coffee, we intend to create community around an appreciation for hand crafted coffee and tea beverages in a comfortable and inviting space. We see coffee as a craft beverage, and hold an interest in its production along every stage of its life cycle. We focus very heavily on the skill of each individual, from farmer to barista, to produce a quality beverage." Had coffee and lunch here after shopping at the Plain Foods Coop a few doors away. The cafe interior is well planned, attractive, spacious, and super clean. We sat by the window with the high roller bicycle etched on it looking out onto the street. We ordered two of the paninis so we could share halves; the large turkey and the grilled vegetable paninis were grilled perfectly, oozing with quality cheeses, and flavorful. The sweet potato soup had a engaging low key hot kick. I could enjoy that soup every week if I lived closer to the cafe. The owner I think served us and she could not have been more pleasant. --Welcoming and knowledgeable. We got several cookies to bring home. There were several varieties available including S'mores and Sugar. The huge Oatmeal Raisin ones were freshly made, chewy, and yet crispy. I could not resist and ate one on the hour long car ride home. We could not believe they were only $.75 cents each -- a give a way. Pastries were also available to eat in or take out. There was an attractive display of coffee and teas for sale. Pleased to see that a custom decaf blend was available, bought a half pound bag. It is probable the most flavorful coffee I have ever had. I have brewed some each morning since as a treat to myself. (See photo I posted of the coffee bag for details of the blend.) Also, many quality Harney tea blends are available for purchase or can be enjoyed in house. Added perks: We purchased 6 used like new quality hardbacks for $2.00 each before departing. Our purchase included two cookbooks. The rest room was immaculate. We plan on returning to this cafe on out next visit to Fort Plain.

So many coffee choices!!!! This place is so cool because it's not what you'd expect to find in a small town. They have so many different options of coffee brews they really care about coffee and the quality of the brews. I had always wanted to try Chemex Pour Over and finally got the chance. It was a robust flavor and really delicious! The bonus was the sweet potato toast. I had never heard of something like this before but I'm so glad I tried it. It was the perfect mix of savory and sweet. I want to try and make it at home. Check this place out if you happen to be in town!

I met with the owners in advance to set up a tea party baby shower. They were extremely accomodating and affordable. The spread that they prepared was amazing, the ladies that worked the party were very friendly, and the place has a great atmosphere. Fort Plain is lucky to have this great coffee shop right in the heart of the village. The food was excellent, the coffee/tea were delicious, it was very affordable and the staff was friendly. What more can you ask for?!

What a fabulous addition to Fort Plain. Bravo to the owners for bringing this cafe to the community. The interior is airy and bright with plenty of seating. The coffee menu is impressive and more upscale than I expected and the service was friendly enough. They do close at 3pm which is a little early. My boyfriend had a Kyoto cold brew and I had a matcha latte, both of which were delicious. The ham and gruyere paninis were savory with an oh-so-satisfying cheese pull. They also sell home goods such as Chemex coffee makers and other gadgets. Worth a stop if you're in the area and looking for something different.

Formerly Honey Girls, Keep Right Cafe is named after the famous Canajoharie "dummy" traffic light with "Keep Right" painted on the base, which was located around the corner at the Church & Mohawk intersection several years ago. There are plans to have the "dummy" traffic light restored and returned to its original location soon. The cafe has a very welcoming and homey atmosphere with decorative floral pattern covered chairs at the tables, counter seating and 2 soft black chairs with coffee table near the flatscreen TV. For food, they offer all-day breakfast bowls & paninis, frittot, overnight oats, Greek yogurt parfaits & bowls, paninis, grain bowls, salads, broths, energy balls, and waffle balls. For drinks, they have organic coffee & tea, smoothies, and Italian sodas. The prices seem pretty reasonable. They also sell gifts including Keep Right Cafe apparel. I stopped by Keep Right Cafe for takeout recently. I was greeted as I walked in. I ordered a Chicken Caprese Panini ($8.50 plus tax) and Waffle Balls ($6.50 plus tax), which was ready to go in 10 minutes. The hot pressed panini had tender pieces of chicken breast, roasted red pepper, pesto, melted mozzarella, balsamic glaze, olive oil between warm chewy bread. The waffle balls (7 balls on a wood skewer) were served very hot covered with cinnamon sugar & powdered sugar and maple syrup for dipping. Both the chicken caprese panini and waffle balls were outstanding! I would definitely stop back in here if I'm in the area. Hopefully, the "dummy" traffic light in Canjo will be reality again soon.

Indoor and outdoor tables, eclectic and charming decor and most importantly good food. There are lots of Lebanese touches on the menu. I ordered a Labneh plate with pita and Kalamata olives. The Lebanese yogurt was rich and creamy combined with olive oil. My niece had a classic NY bagel with Lox. The capers and scallions were a nice touch. We were sitting outside near a tree that was growing through the deck with a hole surrounding it. I went to put my purse on the back of my chair and it fell in the hole!! About 3 ft. down. Luckily the charming owner got a younger member of the kitchen staff to crawl below the deck and retrieve my purse. My hero! They really should put some mesh over the opening. After that the owner started talking to us and told us some very interesting stories. We were the only ones there so he had time to chat with us. It was fun! He talked me into trying a lavender, oat milk latte. Their most popular drink. They roast the coffee on site. I took it to go. It was good. The other staff members were also very friendly and accommodating. Overall a great experience and I'm already thinking about the next time I can go to Sharon Springs. *Bonus it's right down the street from The Beekman 1802 store!
