Booked in Advance to avoid disappointment.
Arrived and had to ask staff behind bar where we could find our table. Sat down and seemed to be lovely environment, staff were taking orders so waited for our turn. 30 minutes later no one had come to our table, people that had come in after us had been seated, orders taken and their food coming out. Went to the bar and asked the man there if it was possible to place our food order, wanted some sides off of normal menu which were unavailable so I said I would have to reconsider as I had no idea what to get the children, that is when he informed me we should have had childrens menus too (I even specified having 3 children or the booking form!) finally ordered at the bar and waited, which would not have been so bad had others not been getting starters and mains/ mains and desserts in the time we were waiting. Still, in the time our food came out, not one staff member had come over and asked if we'd ordered or if we were ok.
Food was cold, the roasts would have been absolutely lovely had it not been cold and the yorkshires not burnt. Childrens food was not great, chips were overdone and smelt awful which would be due to the oil they're cooked in and huge tomatoes hidden under thick cheese on the pizza luckily spotted and removed.
When eating our food no staff asked how the meals were or if we needed anything, we had to almost shout across the room to get anyones attention just to get some warm gravy.
Upon taking the children to the toilet neither of the cubicles have paper, so I stick my head out trying to catch someone so that I do not have to leave the children which didn't happen, I finally did and asked if someone could possible bring a roll in as they were desperate.
After 5 or more minutes a young lady did bring a roll for each cubicle and left us to it, she was very polite.
Once the children had been to the loo we were washing hands and and older lady, member of staff, stormed in and quiet abruptly said "sorry what's the problem" I was in shock and turned around, I said all I had asked for was some toilet roll and a lady had already done it and in response to that she stormed out huffing. We paid the bill and left after this. Not sure we'll be returning again. The staff felt very rude, except the man behind the bar and the lady who did the toilet roll, I was very uncomfortable as was my partner and children.
