I would not recommend this towing company based on my experience in Whitecourt, Alberta…read more I called because I needed to be winched out and was given one price/understanding beforehand. Once the operator arrived on site and knew I was stuck and had very limited options, the price suddenly changed. I felt pressured and taken advantage of in a situation where I was already vulnerable and needed help. The operator's behaviour was extremely stressful. I found him rude, aggressive, and intimidating, and I felt like I was being forced into paying a much higher amount because I had no practical way to refuse once they were already on site. I was ultimately charged $1,200 just to get winched out, which was completely different from what I understood I would be paying, despite providing accurate photos, locations and details. What made the experience even worse was the way the situation was handled. I felt that the operator was not being truthful with me about the pricing and was using the fact that I was stranded to pressure me into paying more. Quote was $300 just to be winched out - they demanded more when they arrived as i was deep in the bush. They KNEW exactly what they were doing. They knew the lcoation. They had all the pictures and location. They knew i was despite. After paying $1200 they tried to take an additional $150 for the truck fee as they had to "upgrade" the tow truck which he said was not on the quote. When someone is stuck and needs emergency assistance, they should be able to trust that the company will honour the price they were given and treat them with basic respect. Instead, I left this experience feeling intimidated, misled, and taken advantage of. Do you self a favour- CALL SOMEONE ELSE BUT THESE LOSERS. The manager/owner will rip you off one way or another and you will feel bad working with them.

Being from St. Albert, I looked in the immediate area for a replacement and was disappointed and frustrated with the whole experience, so I expanded my search into the rural dealerships. I found what I was looking for at Barrhead Ford. There were no surprises when I came out to test drive the vehicle - it was exactly as described. Closing out the claim with our Insurance company and our Bank generated a couple of unexpected delays (all on them) but our salesman Dave was extremely patient and helpful in getting us into that vehicle. Everything was where it was supposed to be when it was supposed to be and well worth the drive out there. I highly recommend Dave and Barrhead Ford and I will gladly deal with them again!
