We had an incredible experience here! It was snowing and we were a bit anxious it would be cold. However, you were provided super warm dry suits, boots, socks - you name it! Started sweating towards the end of our tour, and it was less than 30F outside! No experience needed, and our guide Ryan made everything super easy! He helped us put on the gear, get in our kayaks, and get out as needed. He took a ton of photos for us as well which we received within minutes afterwards. 100% worth the price. One of the best experiences we had while in Interlaken was here at Hightide where we scheduled our kayak tour. "The Beach", Hightides home base was a super cool building with lots of amenities which were unfortunately closed due to it still being winter season.. I'd love to see it In The summer. We were greeted by Carl where he was super inviting as he joked and got to know us personally making the experience that much more enjoyable. He set us up with gear which was all new feeling and great quality and we went on our way. He gave us a little tutorial and we began paddling. Halfway through we stopped for tea and cookies along the rocks where we were then able to get to know Carl and the area even more! We then paddled back to The Beach to complete our tour. We took off the gear and parted ways after we gave him our email to send us the many fantastic photos he took of our group. read more

Absolutely amazing experience! Karel and Jolien were so fun and knowledgeable! The views were breathtaking and the photos we received at the end definitely captured the beauty! We were able to take a dip in the lake which was a tad chilly but also refreshing during the sunny day! The homemade cookies Jolien baked for us were a pleasant treat and we enjoyed them while playfully quizzing Karel on the heights of each peak. 11/10 would recommend! My bride and I visited Interlaken this weekend and attended the Hightide Kayak School. It was absolutely fantastic and I recommend it to local visitors (we came from Basel) or to visitors Internationally. Our instructor, Maria, was absolutely phenomenal. My girlfriend and I found Hightide through a last minute google search and went over to make a reservation for a tour later in the day. When we got there, Dave and Olivia (the owners) greeted us warmly and suggested we that we begin the tour then. We were on the water within a half hour despite our last minute decision with Ryan. Ryan was an incredible instructor and tour guide! He showed us some of the most beautiful parts of Lake Brienz and gave us some very interesting history of the local landmarks about the lake's edge. What we expected to be a simple kayaking tour turned into a fantastically fun adventure and one of the best highlights of our trip to Switzerland. Ryan gave us pointers on being more efficient in a kayak and made the trip so very enjoyable! On top of all of that, Ryan was taking photos of us the entire time and provided a link to the photos he took of us for FREE! We could not have asked for a better experience! The tour lasted around 3-4 hours total. We were not entirely prepared for the tour, but Hightide provided the necessary equipment including a wetsuit, a waterproof, and a life-vest. I would definitely bring watershoes and sunscreen or a hat. A waterproof camera or GoPro is recommended as the Alpine views are beyond stunning from the lake! On a side note, Ryan talked about some of Hightide's future plans for people who are wheelchair bound (I believe they call it their PaddleAbility project) and it impressed me quite a bit. They truly offer something for any ability level which is rare in a lot of specialized sports. Overall, Hightide Kayak School offers a value-packed experience that should not be passed up if you are in the Interlaken area! Switzerland offers spectacular views and experiences on its own but the family at Hightide makes them that much better! read more
