In Northwest Arkansas, there are almost as many places to buy a new bike as there are breweries. I'm hoping that's no coincidence. When trying to choose a favorite, you look for brands ... Specialized, Trek, Giant, Cannondale, etc. I could go on. I was looking for a type, I was hoping for something between a cyclocross and fitness bike. You know something easy to hop on and ride. (Insert a Reno joke here...)
I had a few bikes in mind, but my friend Amy had a recommendation on a particular kind of Specialized bike and shop. Just off of Walton Blvd along the bike gateway was Highroller Cyclery. The extension of a legendary bike shop in Fayetteville, the Rogers location is planting roots in our community. If your experience is like the other many smiles coming and going from the shop, they'll be here for many years to come.
The variety of bikes available was impressive, they carried the complete line of Specialized bikes and all of their major lines. This was Amy's first bike in many years, Ben (her bike expert) casually explained to her the differences of the bikes and components. After a few test rides, they finally came to a decision. She was smiling.
Jared and I took more time. Thinking that I knew what I wanted, I went straight for the Sirrus bikes. Their matted finishes looked sharp, rode comfortably and had me asking myself how much was today's investment going to be. Jared and I chose two other bikes to ride in comparison (Diverge and Rockhopper) both bikes on the other side of the Sirrus. While we were waiting for Jared to help me decide on a bike, there was this other bike in their fitness line called a "Roll" that looked like it needed a new home too. I took that bike for a few laps around the area, each lap going farther and farther away from the shop. I knew that this was the bike for me.
One Saturday, two new bikes, and two happy riders. Isn't that how it should be?!? If you're looking for casual sales experience purchasing your next bike with expert knowledge of the area, sport and their bikes. Stop by and try them out. read more
