I am especially concern that I never see anyone from the body of Christ (the Church) involved in solving this issue. All I see day after day is apathy and non-involvement and think why doesn't the Church use this opportunity to step out in faith and share their Christianity by showing God's Love and Word in action. Faith without works is Dead! Why isn't the Church doing it job and ministering Jesus to these people and helping them out of their social dilemma. How is God receiving any honor or glory from this? There is much more I could say but I think you get the point. Where are God's People! Thank you for letting me express my thoughts and feelings. Pastor Solomon consistently gives sermons that are as good as, or better than, any I have ever seen or heard. The entire community has been incredibly welcoming, earnest, and show their dedication to one another. We spend time together after sermons, enjoying lunch, group discussions, and some of us will get together to play basketball. The worship also includes beautiful music.

Frustrated and exasperated by the challenges I…read morehad been facing, I was in search of a church service to attend one Saturday night because I couldn't wait for Sunday. I found Eagle Rock Baptist Church online, and was grateful that the drive wouldn't be too far from where I live and headed over. From the moment I parked and walked into the building, I was greeted by friendly faces and warm, open hearts! Everyone had such a kind demeanor and there is a certain gentleness and humility that seems to grace this Church and its members. The evening service was short and sweet, but so impactful, even though it's not the type of service I'm used to, and a different denomination than I'm typically accustomed to. That doesn't always matter to me, because I know that God will speak to me anywhere, and the Holy Spirit is alive everywhere! I was blessed by the service and the people of ERBC, but it doesn't stop there. I left the church with a welcome gift that was a book to guide people through difficult seasons, and many other resources that aren't your typical run-of-the-mill "welcome gifts." I mention this because I never really realized how important it is to have proper resources provided by a church, and how helpful they can be when you need it most, or even when you least expect it. The pastor, himself, has been sending me handwritten letters to thank me for stopping by, and for several weeks has been asking how I am doing and whether or not there's anything he, or the ERBC community could do for me. I never felt like he was pressuring me to come back and join the church or anything, but that he was genuinely invested in the fact that I had dropped by for a visit at one point, and that whether or not ERBC would be somewhere I could call home in the future, has been a stopping point in my journey. The Church is truly exemplified by ones like Eagle Rock Baptist Church! I am grateful for the loving kindness shown to me by this church, its members, and especially the Pastor.

Their eleven a.m. Easter Service was one for the ages - just unbelievable…read more A celebration - and while I was expecting something upbeat from this incredible LCF church - it even took me by surprise. What I most-love about this church? It has a Fuller Seminary-Princeton vibe - this won't mean much unless you've been a Christian for more than, say - ten years - I'm going on eleven. Came from the Catholic Church - initially (2006) switched over to the Calvary Chapel - the great Xavier Ries who began his Ministry with a three-person Altadena Bible Study. It was Pastor-X and the Calvary that really changed my life/outlook back in late 2005/early 2006. All churches are incredible, give great benefit providing our Heart wants to come full circle. Began to get interested in La Canada Presbyterian due to my general location - I'm only a few miles away - and their campus rings of an Ivy League-feel. Just glorious up there on Foothill and just across from the La Canada post office. I've studied everyone - love them all - the Charles Stanley's, the Billy Graham's, the aforementioned Xavier Ries and brother Raul - even Pastor Joel over at Lakewood. Each has and brings something a little different. Pastor Dr. Gary Dennis drew my attention due to his stirring, insightful eleven a.m.'s - these incredible Worship Services. Led by Andrew and their great Worship team/band. Dr. Gary's sermons are all at the La Canada Prez website, and are worth their weight in gold - this was and is one of the (retired) greats. Then they have Dr. Chuck Osborn, and an entire front office of the most amazing people and team - They held the services for Ryder Buck, a tragedy felt by all here in N. Glendale - this was one of the most-profound services I've ever witnessed - we bled together though I hadn't joined, didn't officially belong. I can't say enough good things about this church or the people in it - If this isn't enough they sponsor Al-Anon almost every day of the week - some of our biggest Al-Anon meetings are held at La Canada Prez. Do yourself a favor, stop in to an enervating Sunday eleven a.m., you'll be as astonished and as lifted as I was/am. .

So this review is about my experience renting the church as a location for a recent independent film/television shoot. I wanted to use the auditorium to stage a comedy scene because it was the perfect backdrop for what we were looking for, and the location representatives/lighting engineer had quick and complete control over the lighting grid to make adjustments on the fly, exactly the way we wanted. It was very easy to park and easy to access the location--parking was right next to the building and behind a fence so the crew felt safe leaving their cars there. It was incredibly easy to set up the rental and the paperwork was handled digitally (save the trees!) They even had customized signs made for us to direct the cast and crew exactly to the right place, and we had ample seating and room to take breaks (with comfy couches laid out for us), as well as clean bathrooms and nice accommodations. We EVEN were given the wifi password. If you need a location to film a scene in a large church auditorium, don't hesitate to ask for Gabrielle--the church's rates are reasonable, the hours are accommodating, the location is clean, and the lighting is adjustable. Can't recommend it enough!
