The menu is great. Lots to choose from. The wine list is great. The manager helped give pairing suggestions since she helped pick the wine list. I got the steak. It was really tender but slightly undercooked. I do like rare so it worked out. Wife got the seafood linguini and she really enjoyed it. The ambiance was upscale yet accommodating. I was in shorts and nice shirt. Maybe should have had jeans or slacks and a polo. But I think they are fine with most casual attire.

This spot is located at the far end of a Long Beach in Nairn. The building itself is rather…read moreunassuming and you would never know what is inside by looking at the outside of it. There's a small cafe at the bottom but once you round the corner and head up the stairs. You'll be blown away by what you discover. The style of the décor mixed with the large Bay windows giving a view to the ocean was a fantastic combination. It was very intimate and also very romantic, but spacious so you are not crowded next to another table. I ordered the seafood linguini and my husband ordered the steak. I wasn't excited about muscles so they exchanged those for more prawns or a different kind of seafood for me with no problem. There wasn't a lot of fuss with the décor for the food but that's OK. My pasta was delicious. Everything was tender and cooked to perfection and was fresh and light. The funny thing was my husband's food looked like it came from a different restaurant. He ordered a steak medium rare and it came out pretty close to rare.He said it was very tender and as usual. We would prefer it undercooked than overcooked, but 30 plus pounds for a steak should be cooked perfectly. His fries could have been roasted potatoes or something that was a bit more elegant so we were a bit surprised by that. His food kind of looked like 'fish and chips' but steak and chips... The service was amazing. The manager took care of our table and was very good about offering suggestions for wine. She was the one that put the wine list together so it was nice that she knew what to recommend based on my preferences. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody coming to Nairn. I would also recommend getting the seafood over the steak but the steak was still tasty.

That was the case here, as two young women seemed to split the service for our group of five. Neither one seemed to feel any responsibility for our table, or to be interested in actually serving. Just ordering water was a chore. There were mistakes in the drinks and food order, eventually rectified. But they saved the worst for the end. We told each in unmistakable terms that we would like to box/wrap approximately half of three meals so that we could enjoy desserts. Later, after the food taken away failed to re-appear, we were told, "There's been a bit of a mix-up." All the food had been thrown away. I feel badly for saying so, because the food was excellent and the venue a pleasant one. But this was the most lackadaisical service we received in five weeks of European travel.

Very friendly server, beautiful views and a good overall vibe. The food was very good, especially the steak and ale pie. We were a bit travel-weary at this point, and Bandstand was a perfect spot to have a relaxing, low-key meal and bracing drinks while enjoying views of the water. Pay them a visit!
