This is my favourite grocers in the world! The variety of fresh fruit and veg is incredible. They…read morehave everything* and I always end up coming out with something intriguing that I don't normally buy (fennels, dragon fruit, Chinese pears, round corguettes and many more). Compared to the supermarkets it is so much cheaper. The price of cherry tomatoes and grapes are about a third or 50% less here than in Sainsburys down the road. Plus the quality of the produce is fantastic: those cherry tomatoes have never looked or tasted so good. There is the occasionally something bad, but this is a minor thing, and preferable generally to the tasteless stuff you get from the supermarkets. *except bean sprouts. This is the ONLY vegetable they haven't had.

This is my local greengrocer, and I always try to pop in here before heading to any of the chain…read morestores overpopulating our area (I'm looking at you Sainsbury's Local) They have pretty much any fresh fruit, vegetable or salad you could need, and at incredibly reasonable prices. Whenever I have made the very impressive decision to actually cook a meal, I will always come here and stock up. I love it, and I love the cheeky staff behind the till; they're always up for a laugh and a joke ;) Occasionally some of the produce is not as fresh as it could be, so -1 star, but I really wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

This place simply deserves my five stars...just because I am always looking forward to shopping…read morehere! (Yeah, I'm kind of weird that way - looking forward to be shopping at a greengrocer.) But seriously, I always find their fruit and vegetable selection to be impeccable - fresh, beautiful and bountiful! On top of that, they have a huge variety of resasonably priced organic products, such as all kinds of dried beans, pasta, cheeses, müslis, spreads, dried fruits etc etc etc. I mean, this store is jam-packed with healthy goodies and you cannot be leaving this store not feeling good about yourself! On top of that, and this is really where they've won me over, the folks working here are always super-friendly. Not the in-your-face, let me chat-you-up-kind-of-friendly, but a friendliness that is subtle, but extremely agreeable to me. In other words: need your five-a-day and wanna support the local business scene at the same time? Broadway Fuiterers are your mates!

The best fruit and veg shop in Crouch End. The staff is always helpful and smiley. The oranges and…read moretomatoes are real! Yay! They taste like fruit! I forgot what it is like after years buying fruit and vegs in Tescos or Lidl. They have always seasonal stuff and it is worth a visit: you will love their vegs. Also they have variety of olives, something I really miss from home! You can pay by card with a minimum of 10 pounds. I love this shop!

One reason why I like the Corner Shop is because they have a very decent selection of German-like…read more(in other words: dense & moist) breads. Be sure you get a fresh loaf though, because sometimes they have breads on display that are a day old and they have really lost much of their deliciousness! In fact, a trip to preserve fresh bread is to slice it all up when it's still fresh and put it in the freezer! Furthermore, the folks at the Highgate Corner Shop make quite nice sandwiches and you can actually decide what goes into (or onto?) your sandwich...and the sandwiches are really cheap! I only wish they would use the nice whole-meal bread that they are selling by the loaf to prepare your sandwich - but I guess the rather typical English clientele still prefers their white toast...

One of the best things about living in Highgate is the Corner Shop…read more It has the loveliest tasting bread I have ever tried especially the spelt wholemeal loaf which has been our staple for years. They have organic bread, delicious walnut brown bread and a vast selection of other types which are fresh everyday. The delicatessen has a lovely range of cheeses, salads, chicken skewers etc and the best ever tasting humous which visitors to our place who try it all remark on. They sell a huge variety of products compared to Tesco and if you ever run out of anything or need anything, how ever obscure, the corner shop will have it! The owner is very friendly and the lovely lady on the delicatessen counter and all in all it has a wonderful community feel. Sadly, it will be coming to an end in December 2015 because due to the landlord increasing the rent extortionately, the corner shop will have to close after the owners long fight to keep it open and after 35 years of owning it! What will Highgate do without it and it's lovely friendly shop keepers.
