I have my own business and have had the pleasure of working with Peter twice since we've opened (6…read moremonths ago in our brick and morter). For the first installation, we had a couple of hiccups with my ordering the wrong door, door frame etc, but Peter went out of his way to make sure that everything worked out well. On this same job, he even undercharged us, and ate the cost which shows how much integrity he has. He is more than just a door installer, he made sure that our doors were up to code with the various departments (again going above and beyond) was extremely responsive whenever we had questions and concerns. The prices are also absolutely reasonable and I knew I was not getting ripped off or taken by Peter. When we choose to install two more doors, he was the first person we called. Again, it was a pleasure working with him. He didn't rush us at all, was completely patient and honest. Peter-- if you go into handwork, construction or any other sort of home repair business, please let me know and we'll be the first to hire and re-hire you! I highly recommend Emerald Doors!

I would never recommend Peter/Emerald Doors…read more I needed one door to be replaced in my apartment. I contacted Peter in early January. He assured me that it would be a quick job, that he would get the custom door made and then installed by one of his guys, no problem. Without going into the details, it's been almost two months and I have an unpainted, wrong-sized door...and I am still waiting for the job to be completed. Throughout this saga, Peter never proactively checked in with me. He ended up dropping the project entirely and gave it to Gio. Peter did offer to refund my deposit but assured me that the project would be finished....If I hadn't been on top of Peter to see this through, I doubt he would've contacted me to give any updates. Overall, Peter was entirely unprofessional, uncommunicative and disrespectful. I appreciate that this was a small project - but why agree to take it on if they weren't able to complete it in a relatively timely matter? His colleague Gio is a nice guy, more responsive...and I'm just hoping that he'll be able to see this through and make it right. Peter certainly couldn't care less.

The work that they did was consistent with exceptional quality and they didn't drag the project out with a bunch of mishaps. They were on point and even courteous enough to make it possible for me and my family to still occupy the remaining livable space, while doing the job. I would recommend people looking for experts in the NYC area, to definitely give them a try.

I found JNH Construction by accident while looking for something else on Yelp. The reviews were…read morevery good so I called them. Hasan and I made an appointment for a few days later. He listened as I explained what I wanted. He described in explicit detail what could be done to remedy the situation concerning the brownstoning of the stoop and cementing beneath the stoop. At his point I had already had several price quotes and description from other vendors. Hasan's description and price was by far the best. We set a start date for 3 weeks later. Hassan's contract was in detail as was discussed. His payment plan was even better: 10% at the signing of the contract, 40% at the start of the project, 40% midway through the project, and 10% upon completion. Unbeknownst to him, this made the project even more affordable because it would take a few weeks to be completed. Additionally, he gave a timetable/estimate of how many days the work would take (depending on the weather) as well how the work would be divided into sections. Hasan came with his workers on the very first day and outlined what was to be done. He would come on a daily basis unannounced (I think) to inspect and examine completed work. His level of professionalism, skills set, and competence is unmatched by any other contractor that I have come in contact with. Hassan's workers have an excellent work ethic. They report to work in promptly and begin to work immediately. They are prepared to work complete with the appropriate materials and tools. As you watch them work one can see they are well versed in their profession. They work proficiently, diligently, skillfully, neatly, and quietly. They were very accommodating and followed requested specifications exactly. Each day they left the area they worked on spotless. I would hire them again and I strongly recommend JNH Construction Co.

However, the final results were excellent and the shower looks fantastic.
