    2019 Harley Davidson Low Rider
    Chris D.

A second-to-none experience in a motorcycle shop teeming with new and used inventory, apparel, and parts department. All of the sales staff were extremely friendly, approachable, and ready to answer any questions I had. I was afforded the opportunity to test ride any bike of my choice (I rode a few) and sat on many. A big shout out to Ryan, Dave, and Austin for helping me select the right bike for me, giving an awesome deal, and test riding in the low 40° weather! I'll be back not only for services, but anything I may consider in the future. I highly recommend High Stakes publicly, and will continue to do so within my riding circle.

Magnum Motorcycle Parts & Salvage - 2004 Suzuki Marauder 1600

My 2004 Suzuki Marauder VZ1600 stalled when I put it in 1st gear. I researched possible causes,…read morewhich included a bad side stand switch or bad hydraulic clutch safety switch. I cut the leads to the side stand switch and loope the ends together, but that didn't work. So, I called the Suzuki dealership in Middletown to make an appointment but the advisor said they didn't work on older bikes, just the newer ones. I was very disappointed to hear that! The advisor offered me a short list of possible shops in the area who would work on my bike. Of the four that I contacted via an online request for service, only Magnum Motorcycle Parts and Salvage responded, leaving me a message to "call the shop." I did and spoke with Leonard, the advisor/co-manager, who offered possible solutions to my issue, i.e., bad side stand switch, bad clutch safety switch, or stuck clutch plates! I took my bike to the shop on Friday morning in a rented U-Haul motorcycle trailer. The shop owner, Daniel, helped me unload the bike off the trailer. Daniel and Leonard were exceptionally helpful and said they'd get to it as soon as they could. The next day, Saturday, I got a call from Leonard and he advised me the bike was fixed. I couldn't believe it. I was expecting a long wait - weeks or longer. Leonard told me the clutch plates had stuck together (the oil acted like a glue) because the bike had sat in my garage over the Winter and most of Spring without being ridden. The service technician was able to separate the clutch plates, and he also welded the side stand wires back together. When I picked up my bike, I was thrilled when I started it and put it in gear and road it 20+ miles to my home. Daniel and Leonard were outstanding and very informative as to possible solutions. Excellent customer service and the tech did a great job identifying the actual problem with the clutch plates and then fixing my mistake, i.e., repairing the cut wires on my side stand switch. I would most highly recommend the Magnum Motorcycles for repairs. Their repair pricing was very reasonable, and they got to my bike quickly. The bike was fixed within a day after dropping it off. Now that's great customer service! Thank you Daniel and Leonard! You guys are awesome! Terry Prospect, KY

I've been coming to this business on and off for many years. They used to be a huge dealer for jet…read moreski's, snowmobiles, ATV's and other big boy toy types of fun outdoors items. But over the past few years they seem to now deal more in used, no more new, toys, and inventory has decreased a lot. I assume to fit the volatile market for these types of things. Their service dept has done some repairs to some of my toys in the past, and they did a good job at a fair price. They are located out in the country in the middle of farm field's but have a nice operation with a good repair shop, and nice showroom with lots of accessories for sale. You will notice all the off road toys lined up sitting outside when driving by, making them easy to find, haha. Just pull back their driveway and park. The staff were always friendly and knowledgeable and seemed eager to help. They can also send a truck and trailer to pick up tour broken down unit, if you have no way to haul it to them. I think this might be about a $50 fee, which could be negotiable, depending on repairs needed. Not a huge location and not heavily stocked as the large Indy stores, but if you're in the area they're worth checking into. You might find a great deal on the fun off road toy you have been seeking.

One of our friends, a new motorcyclist, bought a RE Himalayan from these guys several months ago; his first bike. He's had issues with the bike stalling on startup to the point that it won't run. There are issues with the headlight/gauge assembly noticeably crooked as if the bike fell over onto its side bending the upper guards. Both of these issues I experienced as he called me to try and figure out what was going on with it. The bike would not stay running for any amount of time unless you held the throttle wide open; also stalled on me when moving with the throttle wide open...scary for a new rider. He contacted the service department and dropped off the bike. He was told that the bike runs fine and that nothing appears crooked; he was told that this is typical of RE's (I'm sure the brand would love to know how little this dealer thinks of their product). Everyone that has seen this bike, in the teens, sees that it's crooked and a few of us have personally experienced the stalling issues. This was a brand new bike. Our friend is a super nice guy who doesn't want to follow up with this dealership and doesn't want to do what I would do which is demand my money back. He's chosen to go to a different dealer. Based on this experience we will never buy a bike from this dealer. Congratulations on letting $150k+ walk out your door because you won't take care of a lesser known, marquee brand.

When I told one of the workers, Matt, he sighed and told me he would check it but not change it. Ummm ok? Apparently he didn't want to change it in the rain for fear of being shocked.... It was hardly raining at this point. I didn't even bring an umbrella. Also, gloves are a thing. But ok, fine. No big deal. He recommended a store they do business with just down the way. However, when I got there they told me they could change the battery but that I needed to get one from O'Reilly. Thanks Matt for letting me go all the way over there empty handed. Ok, fine. No big deal. I drove back to O'Reilly where Matt was waiting for me. I had called him on the way and he was apologetic which was nice. I think he even gave me a discount on the battery. After paying for the battery, you'd think that the least he could do would be to take the battery to my car. I'm not weak, but I'm still a young female customer who knows that batteries are heavy. Didn't even offer. Thanks again Matt. So I picked up my battery and headed back to the other store where the tech proceeded to change my battery IN THE "RAIN" and without gloves on. Sooooo Matt just can't change batteries I guess. The technician finished up but then my car started showing all these weird messages. The technician told me that the battery might be bad and that I needed to go back to O'Reilly for a 3rd time! At this point, I had been on this adventure for over 2.5 hours. 2.5 hours for a battery. As you can imagine I was pissed, but I headed back to the shop anyway. Thankfully, another tech at O'Reilly was there to help me (I wish I could remember his name because he was so kind and excellent) instead of Matt. He checked my battery and everything was fine, so I drove a few days on it and everything went away. My main takeaways from this experience are that Matt had no idea what he was doing but works there anyway, he doesn't care about his customers and wastes their time, and even though O'Reilly advertises free battery installment some of their workers are too lazy to do that, so they shouldn't be advertising it at all.
