A Beautiful place, with beautiful purpose, run by beautiful people…read more Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at El Cuervo ABQ Guest Rooms along with several friends that were meeting me in Albuquerque for an event. I began looking at hotels and rentals when I discovered El Cuervo ABQ Guest Rooms. I reached out to the owners since their booking calendar was only unlocked so far in the future (which is typical for lots of places). They responded quickly to my inquiry about booking a room 6+ months in advance and made it possible. The communication was excellent between them and myself (as well as the others in my party). The home is on the Federal Historical Registry and was built in 1897. The room, bathroom and common areas were incredibly clean. There was a stocked coffee area and nice breakfast area. Our group utilized the breakfast area every morning and the front porch every night. It was amazing being able to have all of our party staying in the same home with these shared common areas. I stayed in the "I Love Mary Jane" room which had a balcony for those that love "Mary Jane" or perhaps a cigar. There was a queen bed with clean, crisp sheets, an A/C unit to keep the room cool in the hot ABQ summer, a smart TV that I could use to login to my various streaming accounts, but also there were plenty of "Free TV" options on it as well. There was a mini fridge in the room that had a few complimentary bottles of water and local beers. The bathroom had quality towels and a shower with fantastic water pressure. El Cuervo ABQ location is fantastic. It's a short walk or a very affordable rideshare to Old Town, (lots of restaurants, entertainment, and shopping), museums, the ABQ BioPark, the crossroads of Route 66, etc. My friends and I occupied 5 of the 6 rooms over the span of a week - with some of our folks arriving later or leaving earlier, so we did the opportunity to meet others staying at the guest house during our stay. Everyone was very friendly in passing! All of us in my party were thrilled with the accommodations and if we found ourselves in Albuquerque/Santa Fe area again, we would absolutely reach out to Brad Leigh & Stephanie to stay here again! The owner is by far the hostess with the mostess and my whole family can't wait to book a staycation together! This location is so rich with local history - and colorful spirits! - that it is a must for everyone local or passing through! I am just sad that I haven't been here in person yet! That has been a huge oversight and mistake on my part. The rooms are the right combo of creepy and comfort! I would live here if I could! This is my new favorite spot in Albuquerque! And I'm such a fan girl when it comes to the owner! She's such a strong, empowering example of a business owner. She's exactly the right person to own a place like this! The views and building are gorgeous, you feel like you're in a private oasis. Also, there are dozens of games and hundreds of books available to play or read. Elaine is lovely and super sweet. She makes delicious breakfasts (served at 8:30am, just let her know if you want breakfast the next day). She is always friendly and makes sure that the freshest fruit and coffee and tea are available. It's easy to get into Albuquerque on the I-40 but it is much nicer to stay in this picturesque, calm village. I highly recommend Elaine's B&b and will definitely stay here my next visit!

This was an awesome experience to ride the 2nd longest tram in the world up to the top!…read more First of all, the day we rode was the 60th annual celebration of the tram. Thus, our tickets were all 50% off. We found out we'd be riding the third generation. It's been so long since I last visited the tram that I probably rode the second generation. It's roomy! Even with the 60th celebration, our wait wasn't extremely long. I believe there are about 30 people on each ride, but I didn't count. I was hoping I didn't feel crammed and it wasn't too bad. Once you're up there, it's amazing to be so far above the ground. On the way up, our 'captain' gave us a bit of trivia about the area, the tram, and our trip up. At some point, you'll pass the other tram coming down, which gives you an idea of how fast you're really going! Wow. Once at the top, it's about 10 degrees cooler. Bring a light jacket or sweatshirt. You can choose to hike a trail that begins on the back side of the restaurant. You'll see the ski lifts and options for different hikes. OR, you can grab a drink from the Ten 3 restaurant and check out the views. We put our name on the list to eat and sipped on cocktails during the wait. It was nice and relaxing up there at the top! We ate at Ten 3 (our wait was 30 minutes) then made our way down. Our guide on the way down didn't say a word, but I suppose it's the same as the way up. There's only one bench on the tram so if you have trouble standing make sure you let it be known. My mom sat going and coming. When you're back at the bottom there's another restaurant if you'd like to eat there instead. They also have a gift shop with some Sandia Tramway, and Albuquerque memorabilia. It's a cute shop. I bought a few items. It's a nice trip. I've ridden before, but it's been so long I don't even remember. Check it out.

This takes you up to the top via tram, you can walk around, there's some dedicated walkways (attractive), there's a restaurant (high end), there's bats (at night). The last time I was there, I didn't like that it was a ticketed timed entry to get up and then a free-for-all to get down but I guess that tracks if they intend to let folks tarry up on top as long as they like. The views are of course lovely. It does get crowded, including the gift shop area, so be forewarned.

Darlene was very friendly from the moment we spoke on the phone, even when we explained that we weren't sure we could make it to Albuquerque from Arizona that day. She reserved a room for us just in case, and we were so glad we made it. The bed and breakfast felt very homey and cozy, and our 10-month-old was thrilled to explore all the house decorations. The breakfast was delicious (the omelet was fire!), and the hot tub on a cold night was incredibly relaxing. We also met her family, and they were sweet and welcoming. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Albuquerque!

We really exhausted ourselves that day so Red Horse was an especially welcome break. This B&B is a working farm so don't expect spit and polish outside. Not saying it isn't lovely, just farm- like. The inside feels like home with lots of comfy chairs and antiques plus some pottery items made by the grandfather of the house, Carl. The absolute BEST things about this spot are the people. Carl is still a very active, engaged and engaging person. If you're lucky enough to have time to talk with him, lucky you! Darlene, our hostess and husband 'pool boy' Phil, are down to earth, warm people who truly made us feel like family. The room was gorgeous with a lovely bathroom and a door out onto the wrap around porch with our own table and chairs looking out onto the back yard . Our favorite spot was the front porch with rocking chairs, so relaxing. Breakfast was yummy and we loved chatting with Darlene, such a lovely lady! This was a great find!

There is currently only 1 functioning elevator for the entire hotel. My most recent stay was Thursday 7/9/2026 in room 601 which remained at 80 degrees all night despite setting the thermostat to 70 at 8:30pm and with the room being closest to the only working elevator i got no rest whatsoever. I should've asked for a refund. A couple of weeks previous I had locks cut on my trailer and around $5000 in personal property stolen while parked right under a security camera. Speaking to another gentleman in the parking lot he had his truck broken into twice recently while staying there. It was his last time too.

When we walked onto the patio and took in those sweeping views of the Sandias, I was ready to love this place. Los Poblanos has all the ingredients of a truly special dining experience: a gorgeous setting, a thoughtful farm-to-table ethos, and a menu that promises something above the ordinary. Which is exactly why the evening's annoying missteps were so disappointing. Service was well intentioned but unpolished. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and, at times, unfamiliar with the menu -- a problem when guests are asking genuine questions about the food and wine. We ordered bread which came before our drinks were served. Wine service was inconsistent. I ordered an Albariño by the glass - 6 oz. My sister ordered the Cabernet listed on the menu as a recommended pairing for her entrée, priced at $11. After we placed our drink orders, the waiter returned to inform her that the menu price was incorrect -- the wine was actually $18. She agreed to proceed. He then asked whether she wanted "a half glass or a full glass," which is an oddly imprecise question at a restaurant whose menu specifies pours in 3, 6, and 9 oz increments. She said half glass. What arrived was 3 oz of wine in a small serving carafe, which the waiter simply poured into her glass -- no bottle presented, no taste offered. My own Albariño, by contrast, was brought to the table in the bottle with a proper taste before pouring. The disparity in service between the two of us was striking. A simple, clear statement -- "3 oz of this wine is $18, not $11; would you still like it?" -- would have resolved everything cleanly. Instead, the vague "half or full glass" framing left my sister without the information she needed to make an informed choice. For what it's worth, the wine itself was extraordinarily tannic -- borderline undrinkable -- and I would have sent it back. My nephew ordered a top shelf whiskey. The waiter told him "we don't have that". My nephew said "it's on your menu" to which the waiter responded "oh, let me check on that". There seemed to be too many instances of the waiter running back to the bar to check on stuff. Anyway, it was available. The waiter apologized. We ordered the bread which was served before our drinks arrived. Food took about an hour which is fine - I don't have an issue with that but during that time we never saw the waiter again. I ordered the soup of the day - potato and leek which was delicious. Followed by the blackberry salad, which was my main course. Both arrived simultaneously, with the salad placed in front of me and the soup set to the side as an afterthought. At a restaurant at this price point, the expectation that soup precedes salad is not an eccentricity -- it is simply correct service. When I expressed my surprise, the servers seemed genuinely puzzled, which suggests this may be a training gap rather than an isolated incident. As for the salad itself -- it was pleasant, but pleasant is not enough here. The blackberry salad was the kind of thing you might enjoy at a well-run casual chain: competently assembled, inoffensive, and forgettable. At a farm-to-table restaurant with access to exceptional local ingredients, I expect the plate to reflect that -- more intentional presentation, more layered flavors, something that is more elevated than what was presented. This one didn't. The gap between the setting and what landed on the table was wider than it should have been. My sister and nephews ordered the filet mignon and rib eye. Both arrived pre-sliced -- a presentation trend that has made its way into fine dining, though one that divides opinion. My concern, beyond personal preference, is practical: sliced meat loses heat faster, and at roughly $80 per entrée, guests should receive their steak in the condition that best showcases it. The quality was good, not exceptional. Los Poblanos is a restaurant with genuine promise and a setting that few can match. The concept is right; the execution needs work. The issues I encountered -- inconsistent wine service, course sequencing, and a discombobulated waiter-- are not kitchen problems. They are fixable. I hope the restaurant takes that seriously, because the bones here are excellent and the experience should be too.
