Personal Care above and beyond what one would expect. Very attentive to your needs. More like friends then contract staff.

I have worked for the Carson City Branch of Visiting Angels for almost half a year. My experiences…read moreas a Care Specialist with this company have been invaluable and most meaningful to me in my professional career. Two immediate thoughts come to mind I would like to share about my experiences with Visiting Angels. First is how the entire staff at Visiting Angels puts the client first. Care plans are made in an individualized approach. Office Staff sit down with the client in their homes, discussing their needs and how the Visiting Angels can help the individual maintain their independence while assisting them with activities in their lives. In addition to this individualized approach, the care managers make every effort to pair individual caregivers with respective clients based on similar interests and personality fit. This shows the level of care that Visiting Angels has for every client and ensuring they receive a personalized plan for their needs. Every staff member is committed to this mindset and is an invaluable asset in helping clients within their homes. The second thought that I would like to share is how Visiting Angels are committed to their employees. I started my employment with Visiting Angels as a college student with a busy class schedule that varies throughout the semester. The office staff was very supportive when I needed time to study for exams and helped me find shift replacements. Visiting Angels staff are always happy to educate caregivers on any skills they may not be comfortable in and often provide further personal and professional development opportunities. They often praise their field staff and provide supportive feedback that helps the caregiver grow in their roles. I found my staff to be very supportive of my future professional goals and were the first to help me in whatever way possible to make my dreams a reality. The staff often checked on me and how I am doing as a Care Specialist and recognize individuals on the team for their hard work. They offer many benefits to their staff and take the same individualized approach and care for each caregiver as they do with the clients. The Angels came right out when I called to do a meet and greet at the house. My Dad was alone when…read morehis wife went in the hospital then nursing home at 98. I filled out the paperwork and they started immediately. I could shop; research social services; get things done. Then when she got out and wheeled in on a hospital bed we signed them up to perform more detailed care. They are wonderful. Have helped me every step of the way and set up a schedule that would work for our needs. I cannot stress how helpful and supportive and dependable they have been. Though more expensive than some they are definitely worth it.

My dad has been a patient of EHHC on and off for about a year. He's had two nurses. They have…read moreboth been really great. But in particular this review is about our nurse Carrie. My dad has a very, let's say unique personality. He is highly intelligent but is a little too straight forward at times and can be insulting. However, Carrie handles my dad's personality like a champ. She's incredible in the way she knows how to deal with the human side of being ill and aging. And she goes to whatever lengths she needs to, to get the care her patients need. She does it with humor, compassion and professionalism. My dad was unfortunately switched from being under Carrie's care about 4 months ago where he contracted MRSA. Setting him back to the point now he is completely debilitated and will now need a foot amputation. Just today he got back under her care and she came out to assess him for sepsis associated delirium at my request. There was no scheduled appointment, she's already busy but she made sure she got out here to assess him. She requested from his doctor a referral for labs, asked me to go get test strips to test his sugar, she left. While I was at the pharmacy to pick up test strips she was back at my house as the doctor denied the request and wanted him sent to the ER. This could have been all very traumatic as my dad was experiencing delirium. But she's such a reassuring, humorous, relatable person she got my dad through being transferred by ambulance to the ER with him in good spirits! I couldn't believe the change in his demeaner from earlier. Angry, traumatized and combative to good spirits and telling me he's going to hold his head up and we're going to get through this. Thank you Carrie for being invested in your patients. I know this was a lot for you today, your schedule was I'm sure already full but you made time to help my dad and me through this. You'll never know my full gratitude. And thank you EHHC for hiring people like Carrie to help us through some of the hardest days of our lives.

I cannot believe this place is in business. EHHC verified they would take a patient after d/c, and…read morethen left him high and dry! Had to scramble to find another HH to assist pt.
