We were left to admire the artist's work and envision what it might look like in our space. These are not ordinary pieces, but make a statement of beauty and artistry. The owner, Brian, came and hung my art yesterday and I am thrilled. Earlier in the day, I had called Sam about my delivery window. It was her day off, but she immediately returned my call. It's just a fun and interesting stop when you visit Breckenridge. And, the pieces of art are amazing. My friends ended up purchasing artwork, as well, for their new home in Glenwood Springs. Thanks to Sam (and Brian) it was a great experience, which means I will treasure my artwork that much more.

The gallery features original oils by Paul along with some fabulous original work by several other local artists. While browsing, an art rep delivered several contemporary pieces from another Paul - Paul Cunningham. This guy's work is like none I've ever seen. The price points of all the work in this gallery are extremely reasonable. Our mountain lodge will definitely be sporting several pieces from this new gallery. It's located at: 101 Main St, Frisco, CO 80443. Here's their phone number: (970) 668-0556. I hope you get to visit them soon - maybe I'll see you there.

We arrived at 11 AM and there were several people already there too; ready to paint. It seems that a lot of folks love this place because it is a creative and fun atmosphere. The staff was super helpful and guided us to an activity based on our interests. We sat outside and painted a canvas while staring at the beautiful Breckenridge mountains. It was truly an amazing, memorable morning - and we will be back!!

The kind of place I imagine people don't lock their homes or cars. After a late, delicious breakfast at Happy Cooker, we took a stroll down the main street (6th Street). One of the places that caught our eye was Georgetown Gallery. It shares a front door with Georgetown Coffee & Tea. We're not big on visiting galleries because they either have outrageous prices or the art is so bizarre or ornate it's nothing we would consider putting in our home. But Georgetown Gallery is different. It is made up of several mini-galleries from artists who make unique, affordable, and very tasteful pieces. If I had unlimited funds, I would have needed two men and a small boy to carry out all the pieces of art I would have purchased! The artisans also take turns staffing the place. On this day we got to meet Karen Heber. A retired school teacher turned painter and potter. We purchased one of her lithographs. (It's the one she shows on the gallery's website.) There were a few others we also liked but our budget wouldn't allow us to buy everything we liked. Karen's pottery was beautiful and cool, but we bought a piece of pottery from another artist to fit the decor of a friend's home. Between you and me... this gallery is VERY affordable and many of the pieces are a BARGAIN! We expected the piece of pottery we bought to easily be around $35. When Karen said it was $18 we just looked at each other like "Okaaaay, wrap it up!" All-in-all it was a pleasure to speak with Karen, learn about her art and the local history, and take our time looking around the gallery without being pressured. I'm sure we'll be visiting the gallery again around Christmastime when the town has special holiday festivities.

If I had the money, I'd buy a few paintings from this place as I loved some of them. There is enough of a variety to please many tastes.
