Let me preface this review by saying that Dr. Parsley was my dentist five years ago and that things…read moremay have changed since then. When I was a patient there, the office staff was very kind. Dr. Parsley, however, is a big part of the reason that even though I'm a full-grown woman, I cry every time I need dental work. I went to Dr. Parley a few times, and it was awkward every time. He would make inappropriate jokes and I dreaded going. Then, the final time I went to him, I had to get some fillings, and he had a hard time numbing me up. Instead of realizing after the first try that I would need more lidocaine than the average person, he tried drilling into my not fully numbed tooth FOUR times! I was in agony! His response: "Patients like you are the reason there is such a high suicide rate among dentists." I never went back. Thankfully, I have found a different dentist who actually cares about her patients and doesn't have a problem getting me numbed up. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Parsley unless you are looking for a sleezy dentist guaranteed to make you hate going to the dentist for years to come.

Family appointments take some "strategery" and they nailed it (with a smile)! We saw the new dentist, Dr. Michael, and my kids and I were spread among a couple different hygienist. They were all very pleasant, fun, easy going, thorough, and seemed to be using up to date equipment and data gathering processes. The staff were great with our kids (more patient than their parents, perhaps). Also, they sent us home with very nice new patient "swag bags." Drs. Tony and Michael may be pleased to know we celebrated a successful visit to the dentist by filling (then emptying) our Highland Family Dental branded pint glasses ;-) Thank you for the pleasant first visit!

I had so much pain that ended up turning into a root canal. I called them up and he got me in that next morning and was perfect in fixing it. From there, we set up a plan to have quite a few of my teeth fixed since I had not given them the care they needed in my teenage years. He was always on time and extremely gentle and careful with any procedure I needed. Since then, I have had a crown replaced, fillings, and the usual cleanings. He's always there to be personable, understanding, not judgmental, yet educational about what needs to happen to maintain good health. And for this I truly appreciate him. As the years have come and gone, I've seen lots of different dental assistants, hygienists, front desk people, ect. And one thing has always been consistent... they are all some of the nicest people I've ever dealt with. They ask you if you need anything, a glass of water, a magazine, a hot towel (they really do!). Their massage chairs make the experience much better than you would think it could be to get a filling. Truly one of the best dentists in Central Oregon and he definitely stands behind his work. I would whole hardheartedly recommend (and have to a bunch of friends) him and his dentistry to anybody living in Central Oregon. You will not be disappointed!
