I ordered a leather item in March of 2024. It was defective upon arrival. The zipper would not work. I began emailing them 6 weeks ago, and never get a response. I sent all data, date and proof of purchase, along with photos of the defect. I then began calling, but no one ever answers the phone, and no voice mail. I mailed it back via UPS, but they cant find Hides Canada at the address on the website, and cannot deliver it. UPS has emailed and called them without success. My better half bought me a leather jacket from Hides Canada as a surprise gift for Christmas. Initially all looked and felt fine. Within a few months, with 'light' usage, the jacket is falling apart, not only the liner shredded completely, even the leather has been damaged from simply wearing the jacket. WATCH OUT! This was the first time I've been scammed on the internet. The belt they sent had a buckle from a dollar store that looked nothing like the illustration on their web site. I complained and they asked for a photo which I promptly sent only to never hear from them again. Their web site says they accept returns of nonpersonalized goods within 30 days. There was no response to my request for a refund which I sent a week after Canada Post indicated that they had received the return. I have complained to Visa about the fraudulent transaction. read more
