It is hard to do comedy in a time where most of the comedy inspiration comes from politics, but you have to stay clear from that due to the fragility of so many viewers. There's tons of games and lots of spots for food on the main floor from grab and go to sit down. The staff is friendly and check-in is easy. The rooms were clean, well kept, and cleaning services came in each day and kept the rooms in good shape. The Borgata is def one of the nicer options when going to AC

I very rarely leave negative hotel reviews, and I am generally someone who is pretty easygoing when…read moreit comes to hotels. I've stayed at Marriott properties for approximately 12 years and have accumulated 800+ nights with Marriott, so I have a pretty good understanding of the standards I expect from the brand. Unfortunately, my recent stay at the Borgata was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've had. We checked in Saturday. That evening, we went to put food in our refrigerator and discovered food belonging to a previous guest still inside the fridge. Gross, but I initially brushed it off as an isolated housekeeping oversight. The next morning, things got significantly worse. The TV in our room wasn't working, and when my friend went to take a shower, she discovered a significant amount of someone else's hair sitting in the shower drain. There was also no soap in the bathroom hand-soap dispenser, so we had to call to have that addressed. At that point, we went to the front desk and spoke with Connor, a manager. We explained everything, and he was apologetic and told us he would put a $100 food & beverage credit on our room and send housekeeping up to properly clean the room. We appreciated the response and went back upstairs. Except housekeeping never came. After waiting, I called the concierge to check on the request, only to be told that there was no housekeeping request in the system. The concierge then put one in and I asked how long it would take because we needed to get ready for dinner. I was actually told that I could take a tissue and remove the hair from the shower drain myself. I'm sorry, but absolutely not. I paid to stay in a hotel room. I should not be cleaning another guest's hair out of the shower drain myself. Eventually, housekeeping did come. However, after the housekeeper left, the hair was STILL in the shower drain. I literally had to follow the housekeeper into the hallway and point out that the hair had not been removed. This is not about expecting perfection. Hotels make mistakes. It is about basic cleanliness and the fact that we repeatedly gave the property opportunities to fix the problem, and somehow the most obvious issue was still not addressed. Then, to make matters worse, I received our folio after checking out and discovered that the $100 food & beverage credit Connor specifically promised us was never applied. So now I'm left wondering what, exactly, was being done to resolve the situation. I have stayed at an enormous number of Marriott properties over the years and have never experienced this combination of poor housekeeping, lack of communication, and failure to follow through on a commitment made by management. Food left in the refrigerator. Hair from a previous guest in the shower drain. Missing soap. Broken TV. Housekeeping request not entered. Being told to clean the hair myself. Hair still left in the drain after housekeeping. And finally, the promised $100 credit not applied. That is an extraordinary number of basic failures for one stay. The Borgata is a major property, and as a Marriott-affiliated hotel, I expected significantly better.

The Music Box is located alongside the casino near the Borgata buffet. The location makes it very easy to enter comfortably right before showtime. The Music Box is not Borgata's main showroom, but instead a medium size venue with about 1000 seats. There are floor seats and elevated seating to suit most people's needs. You'll get a great view and sound from just about anywhere. If you're seeing a rock band, the first few floor seat rows to the side of stage may be too close to the speakers. They do have a bar within the theater with basic drinks. The venue is well-staffed with experienced help to ensure a smooth show.

Seating is not permanent theater seating. They were chairs I imagine are reconfigured around round tables for a wedding another time. It felt very spread out and like a convention keynote. Great thing to do if you're on the AC Boardwalk!!…read more A woman approached me with a small flyer about a comedy show starting in 30 mins inside Resorts Casino (Atlantic City Boardwalk). Typically I say "No thanks" to anyone handing out flyers (living in Vegas). but with no great prospects for things to do on the boardwalk, I paid the $20, grabbed a slice of pizza and joined the audience. Seating was nice and intimate (yet spaced out). There were no drink minimums (loved that!) and awesome music playing before the show. There were 4 comedians and the show lasted almost 2 hours. I enjoyed each set and laughed quite a bit. Go check em out!

While the venue itself was nice, the comedians we saw just weren't very funny and didn't really connect with the audience. My group sat in the VIP section, but it didn't feel very "VIP" at all. We were off to the side, far from the stage, with little to no interaction from the performers--it honestly felt more like a quarantine section than a premium seating area. There was a mandatory food and drink purchase, which is usually fine, but the menu was limited. Overall, while the space was decent, the lackluster performances and underwhelming VIP experience made it feel like a bit of a waste of time.

More importantly, the sound system needs a definite evaluation as the volume was slightly low and absolutely shrill. That being said, the reason for our attendance was to see a good show with many laughs. In this most important regard, AC Jokes succeeded. Comedians were fresh, topical, personal, and engaging. Their interaction with the audience was respectful and creatively funny. The ticket pricing was very reasonable and the request for tips surprising. If the comedians' compensation is too low, I would prefer a higher ticket price or a suggested tip amount. The show's comedians deserve proper compensation and, as I was walking away, I regretted that my tip was too low for the comedic quality.

It's more of a wide vs high venue (if that makes sense) so it really felt like there weren't any bad seats. Sound was great all around. We sat in a different section each night, and even the 'worse' seats had great views and sound. There are a ton of concessions for food and drinks. Lines were never long. There are also plenty of bathrooms. Taking off a star because we had to wait a long time to get in, and it seems like they could work on the flow of the security line. I'm spoiled because I usually see shows at MSG where security is a breeze. This is a really fun spot for a show in AC.
