I am a homeowner who used Hidden Treasures for my estate sale in the Rochester NY area. Lisa the Manager was my contact person. When I came home from being out of the area for a few months, at first, I was pleased with the staging of the items for sale. However, there were items taken out of my house without my permission for sale outside of my house. Communication was very poor on several things. She never apologized for any of this. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR SALES OR PURCHASES! I recently bid on a rather pricey (and super overpriced) piece at an estate sale just after the end of the last sale day. I asked if there were ANY bids on the piece and was told "No, make me an offer." We agreed on a price and general pick up arrangements for the next day. The next morning, when I notified them of the exact hour of pickup, they told me the piece had already been sold and was picked up by someone else! As I voiced my complaint, they hung up the phone on me. My guess is that someone came along the morning after the sale ended, offered them a higher price, and they took it. While that dubious practice might work well for the seller, it's not ethical nor is it good business practice. All I can say is "Buyer Beware" and "Sellers take care." read more

This estate sale company is extremely over priced. They are an estate sale company in Rochester, NY--not an antique store in South Hampton. They let in too many people- You go there to buy something you see in their photos and it isn't there when you get there. They sold it BEFORE the sale started. They bring in items of their own to sell. I am no longer going to their sales. read more

At checkout I inquired about an item and was told to speak with Bill. I told Bill what I was willing to pay for the item,$200. Bill directed me to the Bid slips and told me to fill one out and at the END of the day they would call back if you are the highest bid. I filled out a bid slip and brought it up to the cashier. She reiterated that they would call me back if I was the highest bid. As I was walking out and down the driveway Bill called out to me offered it to me for $275. I could see two bid slips in his hand; my bid slip for $200 and another bid slip for $265. I told Bill "no thanks". I'll take it if my bid holds up at The end of the day. As I was about to continue walking away, Bill said "ok we can do it for $200." I also had a bid for another item for $100, which Bill said we could also do that price. When I went to checkout the cashier rang me up for $100, but said that the other item was going to another person and that it was not for me. I asked her kindly to please check with Bill because I just made the deal with him. She said Bill was mistaken. So I left and did not purchase the other item for $100. Pretty sure they would have taken my money if I said yes to $275. I didn't come to the estate sale to get into a bidding war, I feel like they were making it into an auction. The way I have always done business is if I tell you a price and agree with it then that's the deal, mistake or no mistake. I'm turned off for sure and felt compelled to leave my experience so others are aware before they walk into an estate sale hosted by HIDDEN TREASURES. read more

We bought our home in October 2013. Hidden Treasures did the auction for the previous owners. Since we are buying the home, we also attended the sale to see what we might want to purchase that was currently in the home. When I went outside in the backyard we saw all the potted plants dumped out all along the deck and gardens. We have stayed in contact with the previous owners and asked them if they dumped out all the plants. They said no and that they auction company was trying to sell anything that wasn't nailed down. I would not recommend this company as they have no respect for people items and apparently no consideration for the people who are moving into their new home. Not recommended. read more

Had the woman come to the house. Didn't seem to respect the merchandise and was negative about what was being sold. Down graded everything and was very condescending about everything mentioned. I would not recommend them either read more

While some of the Hidden Treasures sales are great the pricing is often unrealistic and gouging. However, the biggest issue with this company is the favoritism given to some customers which makes buying difficult for others. Many people are in the business to resell and the favors given to others makes it hard for others trying to just make a buck. read more

Most of the sales peoples are extremely unfriendly and rude. When i asked a question they acted annoyed. You will be treated poorly. Never going to one of their sales again. read more

I was the buyer of a home in December of 2018 that had an estate sale run by Hidden Treasures. I was extremely disappointed in the lack of regard taken on the home itself during the sale. Despite asking seller to make sure floors/traffic areas were covered during sale, nothing but a couple of area rugs were placed on the hardwoods. They were a filthy mess when the estate company finished and they just left it. Also the basement was left a mess. The "clean out" following sale was not complete. Stuff left on the floor, not taken, and the floors and stairs not even lightly swept. Garbage from sale left stacked in the garage, we (the new owners who did not run the sale) had to remove and there was quite a bit of it. A moving or donation truck somehow hit and broke the neighbors mailbox, no apologies or offer to pay for fix. No regard for the lawn on edge of driveway, trucks or vehicles ran over, which caused us some work on the lawn, and the driveway was broken off on some of the edge. That was not anticipated, nor were we or the previous owner compensated. The garage floor was not swept following the sale either and there had been a ton of traffic in/out on wet early winter days. This was a very clean house when we put in our offer prior to the sale. As I say, the Hardwood floors in particular were filthy black, dents, scratches and are taking us hours to restore to clean, let alone what we may need to to repair the scratches and dents. Advice to others is to be judicious with the company to ensure the integrity of the home is taken into consideration prior, during and post sale. No homeowner or potential owner should have to deal with that to the extent we did following the sale. read more

I recently bought a patio set from Bill and not only was he super nice and courteous, but when he heard I was planning on making multiple trips with my vehicle, he graciously offered to drive everything out to my home himself! read more

I would give a lower rating if it were possible. HT just conducted my sale. They indeed brought favored people in to buy before the sale started. During the sale they gave special lower prices to their "dealers" friends. Prices were already ultra low and on the last day nearly everything was 1/2 off. The money collected was intentionally counted out of sight of the owner. I had to be trustful that they were giving me my fair due, which I feel they did not. How would I know without an accurate tally? An inventory of things selling over $50 was provided for the estate, but the hundreds of items that sold for less were not in the cash total. I even caught one of their employees loading up the back of his SUV with huge boxfuls of my posessions (in full sight of everyone). I made him put it all back. As I was the only one present, I wish I had another person to watch the cashier, and tally things alongside her. Can't watch everyone by yourself. If you want to be steamrolled and cheated, this is the company for you. read more
