Most of the year it's open by appointment only (exceptions exist in that they have periodic open houses), and if you do go, the best signage you can expect en route are a couple very understated "plant sale" yard signs. They do maintain a good website. But clearly most of their effort goes into cultivating native Kentucky plants. In fact, I'm not sure any other nursery in the area can claim the same reputation among the biggest gardening nerds in Louisville. The selection of native plants isn't overwhelming, but it's varied enough to give anyone plenty of options. Lots of sun-loving plants as well as shade-loving, and everything from trees to ground cover. And the grounds are lovely.

It was easy to find and the folks who own and run this nursery are extremely personable and know what they are talking about. Their two big dogs will greet you as you drive onto the property. With the owners help I chose several plants (wish I bought more) for my plot of land. I was told how to plant and how far apart (use a ruler) each plant should be. It was nice to be in such a peaceful atmosphere. If you are looking for "real" Kentucky Native plants you won't go wrong by shopping at Dropseed. This is not your huge BB store, but a small nursery established by people who care about keeping Kentucky's native plants alive.
