Government buildings are always a hit or miss. In this case, I would say they are mostly a miss. The open times for this post office are not worker friendly. The building itself opens at 8AM, but the area to pick up packages isn't accessible until after 9:30 am.
What's worse, the pick-up area for packages closes at 4:30, when few people are out of work. As a teacher, I often have to leave school early just to not miss out on packages and have them sent back.
Lines usually form when picking up packages. If you plan on not purchasing anything, just picking up a package, expect to wait in line anyway because nobody offers people in line to just give them the yellow slip to pick up the packages and shorten the line.
About the one thing positive that I can say about this place is that the employees are very friendly. Also, they do accept passport applications.
I use this place because it's the closest to my home, but when I have actual business needs, I head over to the McAllen area. read more
