I absolutely love coming here. It is always a real treat to see their mini plants and succulents and at the $2.99 each or 6/$2.49 price point you can really go wild without feeling like you're breaking the bank. They also have a great selection of pots, plant food, and plant accessories! All of their plants are beautiful and healthy. Every one I have purchased here has thrived. read more

Wow I am in love with this place. I can't believe I've only just discovered them. It's like Target filled with plants, flowers and everything else you can think of related to planting. They have sprinklers, gloves, planters, aquatic plants, flowering trees, grass seeds and the elusive Emerald Arborvitae that I came for. Usually only sold during the fall, Hicks had them. TONS OF THEM! AND ON SALE!! They are a little bit on the pricier side but I decided that I will pay more to not go from store to store. read more

The help by the salespeople in the landscaping area, and then the installation of arborvitae were both great experiences Highly recommend. Plus two year warranty if they install it. read more

Healthy plants and reasonable prices! I thought the nursery would be bigger but I loved how organized the store was! I especially enjoyed the calathea section. The prices were so affordable and to top that off, all of them are in wonderful shape! It was so hard picking one out but I ended up with a beautiful -- and very full might I add -- calathea makoyana for $19.99 -- what a freaking steal! Definitely worth your time and dollar. read more

Friendly service and excellent stock of plants at reasonable prices! Nothing is over inflated like the plant marker has become ... You walk into a wonderland of healthy plants! I like to stop in here after shopping on Old country road to see what they have... in fact, I may need to stop over again this weekend! The cashier told me now it's spring they will receive shipments each week read more

I had a problem with my trunk when loading plants and the people at Hick's helped me tie it down and wouldn't even accept a tip. They really saved me and were very kind about it. They have an amazing selection of outdoor and house plants. Their prices are very fair. For me, I am often looking for a new plant but don't need a huge plant. At Hick's they have alot of different sizes, so I can get a 4" rubber tree plant for $5 and be very happy. Nothing seems overprices and you can get deals. I also love their pottery selection. They can do a good job answering your questions about plants as well. read more

Absolutely love this place!!!. It's been my childhood favorite spot to go to. I recently went back here with and it just brought back a lot of memories. We made it just in time to see there Christmas show , which was absolutely amazing and always so beautiful. Hicks always has some amazing deals . Definitely come here & check em out. Quality products, large variety I'll be sure to check in on this place again brought my mother and aunt here.

What a beautiful flower show! It is a high end nursery (almost like a small botanical garden!) so prices are somewhat on the higher end but not exorbitant by any means. All of the plants are very high quality since they are really well taken of so I think they are worth the extra dollars. There is also a very sweet, cozy little cafe indoors where we grabbed hot chocolate and purchased some fresh honey and syrup. I hope the flower show gets bigger (not better bc it's already great!) next year as I would love to spend longer getting lost in its peaceful oasis. read more

Hicks delivered another outstanding planting at our house this week! After purchasing four trees and planting service, Hicks sent out someone to inspect the planting site, make recommendations for the actual installation. Later that week the planting team arrived on time and well equipped. They set the trees in place, and shifted them a few times until we found the perfect location. The whole process was a pleasure and a good value as well. read more

I grew up going to hicks, and have Otto memories dating back to 1998. I bump into neighbors, friends, and even my siblings every time I run in. It's my favorite place to buy things I will get emotionally attached to. My Dad has made a permanent residence in hicks and no one has kicked him out yet, even plantscaping his own back yard in attempt to lure him home with treats like a dog. Enjoy the majesty of hicks and ignore the senile man lurking for tchotchkes and decor read more

Utilized Hicks for privacy planting around my house. They were incredibly helpful with the planning of where and how many trees there should be. They delivered early and installed/planted the tree's beautifully while making helpful suggestions and cutting back neighbors shrubs that were on our property. They cleaned up everything and left and the trees watered and ready to thrive. I am very pleased. I will definitely use them again in the further read more

Wow what i disappointment. I have shopped here for over a decade. Not sure if it's me or if it has truly changed. I used to be wowed by this place. The variety, the service etc. I went today for some standard items for planting and had questions and needed help- guidance on items as well as simple questions like helping me locate items. 1. Everything I looked for was either super limited or not available, 2. Staff every where but no one willing to help. Staff actually made me feel like it was a bother my asking. 3. Prices double places like Home Depot or local nurseries. The prices have always been steep but for quality products and service I would be willing to pay as I am not an expert. But literally double the price on items and they didn't even have them in stock. I guess home depot or the like will be my go to now on. Shame. read more

Love coming here seasonally. My favorite season to visit is definitely during the Christmas season. It is magical! They have a beautiful and whimsical walk through of christmas story designs. We had an excellent experience working with Hicks Nursery recently. We needed new bushes for the back of our property and a small tree in the front. The staff was very helpful in showing us different possibilities that would work for us. After we ordered, William came to look over the areas where we would be planting and to tell us how to take care of the new plants. This was very useful. The planting was done really well also. Everything was done is a completely professional way. Highly recommend!!! read more

Came here for the first time this Christmas. We wanted to see the Santa and needed a tree, so why not kill 2 birds. Not only was the Santa line not that long, it was well organized and moved along speedily. After seeing Santa (where they were so kind as to take the family portrait for us so we could all get in, which I was not expecting) we moved on to the tree. We found one but it had a strange crack so we asked for guidance and we're advised to not go with that one as it may pose as a problem with water. Honesty is everything to me. Every staff member was kind and well versed. I'm addition to all of this, my daughter dropped a letter in the mailbox for Santa. We forgot a stamp and I just figured I would write the return and drop it in the box while she was in school. They stamped and sent it back to her, she was thrilled and I couldn't be a happier mom! They earned a lifetime customer. Amazing service. read more

William, Your men just left my house and I wanted to pass on to you what a wonderful job they did. You should be very proud of them. Very beautiful nursery. A lot of plants and lawn items. This place is hugeeee. Like it would take you at least 30 minutes to walk through. Today we went to their fall festival. They had a lot of Halloween decorations all about. They also had hay rides for $4.50 a person, popcorn, animals to feed, etc. It is very cute if you have young children. Free entry and you don't feel obligated to spend money unless you want to. I've also been told that during Christmas it's a sight to see how they do this place so I'll definitely be back. This place has been around longer than I have and now that I have kids I like taking them here all year long. They have a great Halloween and Christmas setup. My wife and I take the kids here to take free pictures against nicely decorated backdrops and trees. They have a live band during Christmas and a small cafe inside of you get hungry. Highly recommend if your in the area to stop on by. read more

All sites when reviewing a merchant should offer an option for zero stars because this is exactly what Hicks deserves. I am very shocked and disappointed for an organization as large as they are and in business as long as they have been can treat their customers the way they do. My landscaper introduced me to their commercial sales division about a month ago. I spent a decent amount of money at Hicks for new landscaping material. Less than a week after all was planted, plants were not thriving. Hicks will not speak with me because I am not the landscaper despite I was the purchaser of the plants. My landscaper did not buy the plants, I paid directly for them. Thankfully I used a credit card and disputed all the charges since they won't even offer to come to my home to see the condition of the plants I bought from them. This is not how to treat a customer. They have one line and it is "we don't speak to our customers customers." Very sad folks, wake up and realize I am your customer!!!! Keep moving on from this unworthy organization for any purchases. read more

Visit Date: October 12, 2014 I came here with my family for pumpkin picking. Unfortunately I didn't get much of the fall experience I was craving, but that was partially because I was with my family and they do things ass backwards but it was partially how Hick's had their fall set up this year too. We walked in 3 hours before Hick's was closing and my family decided they had to eat at the cafe. The cafe is awesome though I've been to Hick's before and have seen it. It's semi on the pricey side but the snacks were good and the coffee did the job. This year I wasn't impressed with Otto the ghost I remember Otto's walk through being much more elaborate when I was a kid. By Otto they had a ton of Christmas stuff out already. Outside they had roasted corn, other snacks and a hay ride. The hay ride was pretty impressive, it was really short but they did a good job decorating the grounds. As far as pumpkins they didn't have much of a choice and the pumpkins were really expensive so I didn't buy any. In my opinion Hick's is worth a visit to check out all their current holiday and seasonal displays but they are pricey so unless you've got the cash to spare you can probably find gardening items elsewhere for cheaper. read more

While I do love Hick's Nurseries, this was the first time I shopped for outdoor furniture. Picked a beautiful set, on sale and paid $190 for delivery to Queens. I hadn't heard from the transport company the entire week. When I called, they confirmed that they had my furniture for OVER A WEEK. After several phone calls (and looooong hold times with both Hick's and their delivery company), I was told it would be another WEEK AND A HALF. I called Hick's to refund my entire purchase because this is just not acceptable. I feel Hicks's should have offered some type of compensation for the mishap, but they did not. read more

Perfect spot for Christmas trees. Seemingly endless selection, organized by both type and height. Service is excellent too, all you have to do is point to one, pull your car around, and before you know it, it is on your roof ready to take home. Also the inside is filled with everything Christmas you may need. Decorations, wreaths, lights, ornaments, bows, wrapping stuff, EVERYTHING. And for the price, you are paying basically the same as those street side joints, and getting much better quality. Our Christmas tree spot, no matter what. read more

It was INCREDIBLE!!! I was like a little child in there. So many options to choose from. I highly recommend this place!!!

LOVE HICKS!! Used to come here with my parents when I was younger, now the honey and I have been shopping at Hicks for ourselves for 10 years! This is a huge nursery. They have everything from indoor & outdoor plants, pine trees, palm trees....all the way to unique stuff like flowers like the passiflora and other unique perennials. One year I found a sprouting coconut tree (which is a palm tree growing out of coconut). I have never found that anywhere else, being that its not a common palm. There selection changes. Very good quality plants, never had anything with strange bugs or sickness, like I have experienced with other larger chains. They offer a wide range of gardening supplies, everything you will need! They are open year round and offer fun holiday events. Always neat and easy to shop.....plant shopping can be a little over whelming for me....lol Great sales all the time, and they have a points club card. Otherwise things can get kind of pricey here. Employees are always helpful and friendly. Huge parking lot. We visited many other nursery's in Long Island, haven't found any place that compares to Hicks! Wish they had my sprouting coconut tree this year, sadly they did not! See ya soon Hicks! read more

Giant nursery for all of your garden needs. I love Hick's even if I'm just browsing. The place is huge- apparently it has been in business for many, many years (I think the town of Hicksville is also named after the original owners). They have any kind of live planting you are looking for to make your home a showpiece. There is also a large indoor are where you can get all of the needed accessories such as flower pots, dirt, decorative doo-dads etc. Prices are average- they are not the most expensive out there but not as cheap as the garden places at Home Depot. They also have a whole area of fish and such if you happen to have a pond (or always wanted one) in your yard. Huge parking lots. read more

We hired Hicks Nurseries to landscape and fence our outdated front and back yards, and cannot say enough about how professional and pleasant they were to work with. Thomas Cahill was our primary on the project and he was patient, thorough, and very helpful. We approved the plans quickly as he immediately got what we were trying to do and at a reasonable price. Once the work started, it was a pleasure to see the team in action: Prompt, professional, and always going the extra mile to solve the little issues that come up on every project. They were clean, caring, and followed up with care days after the final project was completed. All I can say is Thank You! Highly recommended. read more
