The location is right off of 575 between Cumming Highway and Brown Industrial Parkway. Nearby businesses includes, GA department of Driver's Licence, Must Ministries and Cherokee County Juvenile Court. The library has a capacity of 110 people and is one of the larger libraries in the area. Only Pickens and Woodstock locations are larger. Some of the features includes over a dozen public computers for patrons with a current library card or a guest pass. They also have several tablets and laptops that you can sign out for in library use. Free wifi is also available. Just ask a librarian for the current password. One of the unique feature at this library that I've not seen in the other libraries is their jigsaw puzzle collection. They have a whole wall of puzzles that you can check out like you would a book that you might like to read. It's a great a idea for developing and sharpening one's cognitive skills. The trail of tears actually begins in Cherokee county about 2 miles from where the gold mine is located. The gold mines were worked on originally by the Cherokee Indians themselves near a town the called Sixes...Probably named after the 6 gold mines. Then after they were forced off their lands a lottery system was put in place giving the lucky winner 40 acres of land for them to do as they chose.It came to be known as Gold lottery of 1832. The marker itself reads as the following: Cherokee County, located along Georgia's gold belt, figured prominently in the gold rush of the 1830's and 40's. Several mines operated along a five mile area near the Etowah River in the northeastern part of the county, including the Franklin-Creighton, Sandow, and latham mines. More than 30 other small placer mines extended southwesterly across the county and included the Sixes Mine, worked earlier by the Cherokees. After the 1860's, most gold mining operations in the county either slowed or ceased. First on the walls and floors of both bathrooms in the dorm, then an air conditioning leak that was neglected which revealed more mold! Now my daughters room is infested with bed bugs. Not only can we not receive a call back from Dr. Mallard but this is the third time my daughter has had to move out all her belongings in one semester. When you are being charged $10,000 a year for room and board it should at least be safe and not make the entire dorm sick!

We noticed this immediately as she found a group that had drugs inside of the dorms on a regular basis. I reported this immediately to Dr. Lee and he acted as if he cared but nothing(literally nothing) was done to intervene. My daughter missed classes and according to their rules, a student is reported to the dean after missing 3 or more classes. My daughter was never reported. I also brought this up to Dr. Lee. Again, nothing happened. This school has a very nice campus and I think it is in a decent area but if you are looking for a support system for your child, this is not the place. They act as if they care about your child during orientation and that there will be numerous resources available but this is all smoke and mirrors. I am not blaming my daughters choices on the school but as parents, we intervened and expected some type of help as my child was on their campus. No help whatsoever. Do your research before you pay $25,000 to this school.
