I can understand if they're older and they wanna be helpful first, but there is no communication on this.... And then I saw the sign. I should've taken a photo cause it was a little startling, and unfortunate that they expressed so openly their political position and hate for Wokeness. I've heard some stories how they are true MAGA and slightly racist, but you have to experience it for yourself. You have to give a place a chance. And it saddens me the way I was treated on my second time back. Folks everywhere are just so sad and upset these days, every life has been disrupted in someway the last 10 years for multiple reasons. It's stressful out here, but it's also stressful trying to get good quality food with all the regulation changes. I travel out of the country multiple times a year and American food is just the worst. So I'll keep searching for quality in both the product and in the customer service. In some small way, it's good to know a store position because I don't wanna give them my business. It's so weird to fight against progress. And it's even weirder to think Wokeness is a thing. The sauce is nasty, the fries were made 2 hours ago and set under a heat light, they were gummy and the potatoes get when they get cold. They were dark and burnt-looking. I ribs were burnt and tuff with no seasoning. I had to chew them at least 40 times just to swallow them. Now I don't mind a little pull off the bone, but these were just dry and tuff. The best thing was the piece of sweet corn, which they probably got from the Sam's Club up the street. They lost me. That was a waste of my $20.00. Why I didn't return the food, because I was hungry and at home. Please do better. I would have written this if the meat wasn't burnt, dry, and tuff. We ordered the Black Bullet party pack which comes with two pounds of brisket and two large sides. We went with fries and beans, and also added ribs, mac and cheese, and buns to the order. The brisket is still the star of the show. The spice rub on it is perfect, and it's so tender that it's unreal. The fries are exactly the kind of battered fries I like which was a pleasant surprise because I feel like not many places do them that way. The beans were okay... a little sweeter than I personally prefer, but they had huge chunks of pork in them that I definitely appreciated. We also added two slabs of ribs, and they fell right off the bone. I'm usually not a huge ribs person, but these were well cooked and flavorful. Mom loved them, and that's what really matters. We did have a few small issues with the order. We realized that our mac and cheese was unfortunately missing when we got home. They also ran out of pretzel buns midway through packing things up, so we ended up with a mix of pretzel and brioche buns instead. Honestly, we didn't mind that one too much because it gave us a chance to try both (I'd pick pretzel if I were you). When we picked up the order the place was absolutely packed, so it was hard to be upset over an honest mistake. They were clearly incredibly busy. I still don't really care for the sweeter sauce that tastes heavily like peppers to me, but their vinegar-based sauce (which I think is their original?) was much better than I remember. I'm glad to see this place is still around and still holds up after all this time. More importantly, the brisket is every bit as good as I remembered.
