I loved the drunken noodles and would get them again. The spicy basil beef was also flavorful and fried up in a good crispy kind of way. I loved the spicy chili oil, so worth the $.50 cent charge. Service: 5/5 The customer service was good. They even checked in after bringing our food to the table. It's a weird mix of fast casual and sit down. Not sure what to make of it but they seem to care. Ambience: 3/5 The fixtures and some of the plants were dusty. It is a pet peeve of mine to keep dust to a minimum, as that is basically human skin that is just floating around and could end up on my food. Other than that and the floor not being too clean the place lacks a certain polish and could be a little nicer. I am disappointed in this location. I am a regular at this store and every time I want sushi for dinner I am denied. This time I caught the boys name, Taylor. The hours on the door and google are the same so there is no reason I should be getting turned away 30-45 min before close so he can leave early and not because the store is having problems or out of most inventory. Everyone has a smile and the food is good. Prices are,imho, just a tad high. Kids might still be hungry, very small kid portions. Adults portions are average. My husband is picky about his Pad Thai, and this is the only other place besides Thai House he'll order it. So if that's your thing, be sure to give it a try. I'm a hibachi + any meat kid of girl. I am from Dallas and I came up here to visit my boyfriend. I was craving sushi and Hibachi Boy popped up. I ordered the WSU Roll, Hibachi Boy Entree with Beef, and Volcano Fried Rice. I was truly amazed. The cooks know what they're doing. The hibachi beef was amazingly seasoned. I finished the whole plate. Wsu roll was 6/10. It wasn't terrible but I've had better rolls. Will try a different roll next time. Volcano fried rice was so good. Me and my boyfriend ended up going to the Wichita location too since it's so good. Please open one up in Dallas. We ordered through Uber eats delivery and did not receive one of our meals and another was not made correctly. When we called the restaurant to explain the situation, we were told to contact Uber eats to get the food remade and they would not assist us. So me and my family drove up there and when we got there the place was a disaster! Food all over the ground no clean tables and no line at all. As somebody who greatly enjoys Asian inspired cuisine, I definitely recommend Hibachi Boy. Like many, I've had my fair share of bad hibachi experiences and poor quality grocery store sushi, but fortunately this was not the case here. We both ordered items from the hibachi (meals range between $7-$9, with steamed/fried rice, noodles, grilled vegetables, and choice of meat), their "Big Boy" platter (3x Crab Rangoon, Vietnamese style spring rolls, fried dumplings), and sushi. All of which tasted great. TheSushi, didn't have the ill fated fishy smell or soft mushy texture plaguing many other sushi joints, instead it was freshly made to order and firm. On the subject of sushi, they come in three different tiers. The more premium ingredients, obviously more expensive than the more common. All of which come in a range of 6-10 pieces for a more than fair price, $6-$11 depending on tier and quantity. The floors were very clean until somebody with muddy boots walked in, carpets cleaned. The booths very comfortable, even as I've been sitting for thirty minutes eating, and writing this review. The seat backs offer optimal support to myself and my girlfriend with scoliosis. The over all aesthetic brings a dark open ceiling, with lightly decorated traditionally colored walls. For those who enjoy it, the tables come furnished with the typical sriracha, soy sauce, and even hot chili oil. All in all, I believe Hibachi Boy's only negative is that they're located on the corner of a strip mall, behind trees, in Derby, KS, making it easy to drive past. So, if you've made it this far into my review, why aren't you driving there now? read more

I called to place a pickup order at 3pm. It rang and rang until it went to voicemail. I called back and placed my order. I picked up the order and the bag was tied up. This is the best asian fast food orientated restaurant has to offer around the derby area. From your stirred fried noodles to hibachi style entree and even a sushi menu. I come here and can always get different items without having my taste buds being bored. This restaurant is definitely oriented to middle to low class offering single digit price for QUALITY asian-style food. DO NOT compare this to a high end asian dining restaurant. The price and quality can compared to that of chipotle. I would give hibachi boy a try if you're need a quick fix for asian food without denting your wallet. My recommendation is the Hibachi Chicken, Teriyaki bowls, and my all time favorite the Drunken Noodle. You can also never go wrong with their fried rice. read more

Easily in my husband and I's top 5 favorite restaurants. We live in Wichita but will make the trip just for this place. We've never been disappointed and the servings are plenty for the price. We tell everyone we know about it and let them know it is absolutely worth the drive. If only they could reopen another location here! We'd be regulars.
