I've been getting facials at Hiskin and, overall, I have been very happy with the actual facial services. The estheticians have done a great job, and I've enjoyed the treatments themselves. Unfortunately, my experience with management was disappointing. I felt that I was treated unfairly in a situation that could have been handled much better, and what was most frustrating was that the managers at the time did very little to acknowledge or rectify the situation. Because of that, I ultimately decided to cancel my membership. After I canceled, I was contacted by a new manager who asked if she could make things right with me. I really appreciated that she listened, took my concerns seriously, and genuinely made an effort to make things right. She followed through, and I want to give her credit for that. I'm still not sure whether I'll continue with a membership at Hiskin. My hesitation now is less about the service and more about the open-concept setup. I personally prefer a more private, relaxing experience when I'm getting a facial. I do appreciate the new manager reaching out and making an effort to turn a negative experience into a much more positive one. That meant a lot to me. read more

My most recent facial at the Rice Village location was a terrible experience, and the way my attempts to cancel my membership have been handled have been even more disappointing. During my last appointment, I received a facial with dermaplaning. The esthetician was so rough that I left with significant irritation followed by peeling and scabbing that lasted for about a week. I've had facials here before and have had dermaplaning elsewhere, and I have never experienced anything like this. Once the initial swelling and redness had gone down, it looked like I had cuts from the dermaplaning. After this experience, I emailed the studio to cancel my membership. Instead of processing my request, I was told I had to call. The employee I spoke with was dismissive and informed me that I could not receive the cancellation paperwork until **after** I was charged AGAIN in August. She also mentioned a "cancellation fee," despite that fee not appearing anywhere in the membership agreement. She promised to send me a copy of the agreement but never did, so I had to locate it myself. The membership agreement states that the membership requires a minimum of three recurring billing cycles, after which members may cancel before their next billing date with no additional billing simply by contacting the location. None of this is the case. My membership began in May, and I have already completed the three May, June, and July billing cycles (although I hope to get a refund because I did not go in July because of this experience, and I feel like June should be refunded because of how awful my service was). The employee claimed May did not count because I supposedly received a new-client rate. That is incorrect. I was not a new client and did not receive a new-client rate (see attached statements where I was charged for the membership in May and for charges before becoming a member). The information I was given over the phone did not match the written membership agreement, and there appears to be no corporate phone number available to resolve disputes. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the Rice Village location or the HiSkin membership program at all. read more

I just had my first ever facial with dermaplaning and I am beyond thrilled with my experience and results. I've never had a facial done before but I've always wanted one and I wasn't sure where to start. I kept seeing ads on social media for Hi, Skin and thought I'd give it a try. They have a special introductory offer for first time clients with their "Really Good Facial" for $109 instead of the normal $140. You can also add the dermaplaning for free with this special (normally it's $65). With all that being said, from start to finish, the experience was relaxing, professional, and truly rejuvenating. My esthetician, Ashley, took the time to answer all of my questions and explain the process during my 60 min facial making me feel completely at ease. The dermaplaning left my skin feeling incredibly smooth, radiant, and refreshed - I've never felt my face this soft before! Not to mention she showed me all of the peach fuzz and gunk she pulled off of my face and I was shocked at the amount of dead skin cells that was just sitting on my face. I can't recall every product that was used and how it benefited me but I can say the entire treatment was gentle yet effective, I walked out with a beautiful and youthful glow. I can already see a difference in my complexion and how my makeup goes on so smoothly and effortlessly. At the end of my facial, Ashley gave me a list of products she used and her personal recommendations. Now, they do try to upsell you on the products used at the end and try to close the deal with a membership. I spent more than what I was intending to. I purchased two products (resurfacing enzyme polish and the strawberry rhubarb masque) and I'm excited to use them at home. Since this was a special treat, I can't see myself committing to a membership but maybe a once a year facial for a special occasion. Overall, a very positive experience and highly recommend for anyone looking to give their skin a boost! read more

My day started off with my car battery dying on me, but the girls at this location were SO understanding and forgiving and worked with me to reschedule so that I can get my battery replaced! Already starting at five stars there. Mariah made my day ALL better by giving me one of the best services I've had! She was so sweet, professional, great at communicating about the entire procedure, and just a joy to spend time with. She was careful with the products she used on me as to not irritate my skin. After the 30 minute faceform, my skin was glowwwinnggg! I brought my makeup with me to put on after, because I had a day of errands ahead of me. But when I tell you that I felt so pretty and dewy afterwards... I left my makeup in my car for the rest of the day. So they are having a $99 for an hour facial special for their opening which it's normally $140 so that's nice. My facial was really great and I was actually the very first customer on the very first day of opening there so I could tell everyone was a little frazzled, but everyone was so nice and professional. The face massage was amazing and then my person Mariah during the wait time for the mask actually massage my hands and arms, but she says that everyone does something different so if you want a hand and arm massage go to Mariah. I had some breakouts and some redness and she was able to tame that with some products and a mask and then with the light wand thing that she has that I can't remember the name of. Overall it was really great and I ended up signing up for Monthly membership. Now they do try to upsell you on products and treatments that are better your skin and they are not gimmicks because those things actually do work, but I just had not budgeted for it so next time my monthly membership I'll be able to get a discount and I'll be able to try some of them. read more

I booked an appointment because I heard about their $59 first-time client facial. I wasn't able to book my appointment online, but they took care of it quickly as soon as I called them. The facial was very relaxing, and I even dozed off a couple times until we used some more potent products that caused some (very normal and expected) tingling. My esthetician explained each product that she was using on me and helped me better understand how to properly utilize my currently at-home products, which was very educational. I wasn't able to fully relax though as some of the explanation felt like a very long-winded up-sell for you to purchase the products at the end. Right after the product push is check-out where they explain their monthly membership to you. I see a lot of these membership-based spa/salon places, but I would really need to have an exceptional experience to commit on a recurring basis. My skin was pretty sensitive right after the facial and I noticed a red patch to the side bridge of my nose. After sleeping and giving it a day to settle, it's pretty apparent that the product burned the skin on my nose. Hi Skin already feels more like a no frills salon versus a spa, so it was disappointing that they weren't able to do the bare minimum - leave my skin better than when I arrived. Update: Two days post-facial and I'm lowering the rating down to 1 star. Just realized the rough patches on my skin are dermaplaning scratches/scars from the blade. read more

India was excellent. I must say I have never had a facial in an open environment (similar to a hair salon booth) but once she got started I was so relaxed. The extractions weren't fun but they were effective. Have already scheduled my next facial. Rated a 4 because only had time for a 30 minute treatment. Convenient and kind. read more
