When I found this place last year, I loved it so much, and told myself that I would make this a regular spot for every visit to Houston. Unfortunately today I have changed my mind because the training has either changed or this new price hike makes me pause....The 3 star rating is averaged from my 2 visits = 5 for the first visit, 1 for this one. I got the Face Form Facial because I love a great facial lymphatic massage (the real "k-beauty" secret), and I got a fantastic sculpting massage during my first visit. So I upgraded for this one and added a PureLift booster. The aesthetician zapped me (it was honestly cool!) for several minutes on each side (then my forehead? ...which was a bit odd and gave me a headache...). Yes, there are muscles there but using the same intensity as my cheeks is not a great choice... Then came the part I looked forward to enjoying: Face Form Facial. It lasted maybe 10 minutes.......with too light of pressure for any classification of a massage. It felt like she was patting my face and rubbing my cheeks the way I greet my puppy. My visit started at 10:30 and my aesthetician announced that we were done at 10:55. I was surprised....I thought it was 30 minutes for the Face Form facial and I didn't realize the booster would cut into my time. I didn't want to argue since I found the facial unsatisfactory, so I said things were fine and even tipped her 18% (bc if this is the training at fault, I don't want to punish the aesthetician for doing her job as instructed). I told the front desk that I liked my visit bc my aesthetician was a nice person, but after further reflection, I am bothered by this new approach (= allowing boosters to cut into the facial time, and not giving an adequate level of massage as experienced during my first visit). This visit cost me $175 with 18% tip included.....for a 25 minute visit with 2 intermittent gaps of care (I remember staring at the bright ceiling and wondering where she went). I live in Los Angeles and I don't usually flinch from shelling over serious money for self-care and indulgences, but this was absolutely not worth it and I will not be returning. read more

The technician -- I loved her. She chose a nice balance of products that seemed as if they all had a purpose over just layering one after the other. My skin tends to experience congestion/breakouts after facials but not this time! She also made some great recommendations (without pressuring) that were reasonably priced and relevant. The space -- super cute and trendy but unfortunately not individual rooms. The stations were separated nicely to provide as much privacy as possible in an open space. I could hear people around me talking and with my ADD brain it is hard to relax with too much going on in the back. Pricing -- I took advantage of the first time guest offer which was greatly appreciated. Pricing is consistent with other similar businesses within the loop. Location -- within MKT. IFYKYK. Parking varies with the time of day but you can always find a spot. Go a little early if it's peak times. Can also take advantage and grab a snack/coffee/drink/food nearby to complete the experience. The esthetician explained each product and was nice but the "really good facial" broke me out worse than I've been in a long time. I came in primarily for acne and told her I have sensitive skin. My home routine is PM gentle cleanser (sometimes double cleanse), tretinoin, barrier cream. AM gentle moisturizer, tinted SPF. The day after, and still now a week later, there was bad almost rash-like breakouts on my face and neck. It stinks for a $99 facial that was marketed as sensitive products and like it could reduce acne. I know everyone's skin is different. Just wanted to advise against getting the facial if you have acne/sensitive skin. BTW do not have cystic acne nor really any blackheads at baseline. I was a member for a little over a year, since they opened up, and I really enjoyed the esties that I was able to work with! Unfortunately lots of price hikes over the year made me cancel my membership. Before, dermaplaning was included in my membership, but now it's a $40-50 add-on. Boosters also doubled in price over the year. I understand business expenses can change overtime, but given this is a chain I was a bit disappointed at how often terms and prices changed. I haven't been going for a couple of months now and my skin has actually stopped breaking out. Obviously depends person to person, but made me reconsider a facial membership in general. Feels very good in the moment but I learned that my skin actually gets better with less treatment I suppose. The location and clinic itself is very nice and modern. I felt like the service was great from my esthetician but for some reason I felt rushed into buying products by the management and although the girl helping me was nice I cannot say the same by the other staff as I wasn't even greeted properly. This place is an instagrammer's Paradise. In fact, there were people creating content in the lobby when I was there (see photos). Not very relaxing. I was excited to try the $59 intro special facial. And I was drawn to the results oriented skin care that this place claims to be about. The experience: this is not a peaceful pampering place. You will enter into a back room that has about 10 chairs in the back and numerous people getting services done in the same place. There's quite a bit of noise and phones ringing and people talking. My esthetician walked me to the back and sat me into a nice chair. Instead of really explaining to me all of what was included in my current facial that I had signed up for, she immediately started selling me up on add-ons. I wasn't really interested in any add-ons, especially because I wasn't even explained what was in my current facial. It would have been nice for the esthetician to explain the services that were included in the facial I was going to be doing and the benefits of each one and that was lost on me. I really had to push for her to explain. The esthetician started cleansing my face and used such light pressure that it was actually pretty annoying to me. I asked her if she could increase it and she didn't. After about 5 minutes, I wanted to leave. I was more irritated and annoyed by the experience. The lady at the front desk was kind enough to offer for me to come back to see another facialist in the future. I'm hoping that my next experience is better and that I can update this review once some other policies against instagrammers taking content all over the place can be remedied. Heads-up: probably good to hydrate after you get a facial, so you'll want to bring your own water bottle because they don't offer water after the facial . The skincare studio faces the parking lot on the side of Mendocino Farms - easy to find. Upon walking into Hi Skin, the place had a futuristic vibe. It's all in an open space and you're immediately seated into a chair with a basket to place your personals, and then given a soft blanket to stay warm and cozy. Don't expect to change out of your clothes, and be placed in a private room - so wear something comfortable. They will not be working on your neck or décolletage as some spas may include. With that said, it's a great no fuss in and out alternative. Definitely worth the $59 intro price and possibly the $110/month membership price - but not sure about the $140/session non-member price. Bre was amazing and very informative! She asked me what my skin concerns were and what I was hoping to achieve. She explained the process throughout the procedure, which is customized for each individual, and was not too pushy on upselling add-ons and products. And her deep tissue facial massage was divine! Before checking out, your esthetician will recommend items that will help you achieve your skin goals. You can choose to purchase or not, but those items will be added to your profile for future purchases if you decide to come back and get them. 3% charge will be added to any credit card payment, but not on debit cards. There's a water fountain in the back by the bathrooms should you need to hydrate after your facial. I hope to come back and totally recommend Bre! read more

I went in for extractions. the lady looked at my skin and offered all the steps but talked so fast that didn't even included extra prices. everything is added on to the original price so don't fall for prices. If you want to stick to the price they offer you get a face wash, a mask and then lotion and suncreen. I can do that at home with better quality products! I went in for extractions she took 2-3 blackheads and told me it was to painful so she proceded to put lots of things to "quench my dry skin thirst" then offered a membership and expected tip (the screen automatically does 20% so beware) . You're not getting a great facial here. You can't even call the facials here good; they are very average and borderline on mediocre. The products used really are just OK. As for tools, there is no steam, deep cleansing or exfoliating and almost everything that would be included in 60-min facials elsewhere cost an additional $45-$90 here. My biggest issue is with the estheticians. They are trained by Hi, Skin corporate to be SO SALES-Y. They will aggressively push the membership on you, and then try to sell you add ons and products at every service you get. It's really obnoxious and takes all relaxation out of the experience. Additionally, since it's set up like a hair salon with everyone out in the open, you can hear that all the other estheticians are using the exact same products and script on their clients!!! Who all have different skin types and concerns! I plan to cancel my membership as soon as I'm able. read more

I really do enjoy my facials here, the products are high quality, and my esthetician is amazing, but I can no longer justify the price. The Better Facial ($140) used to include dermaplaning as one of the modalities you can pick from, like LED therapy, cryo globes, etc. for no extra charge. I understand that dermaplaning requires more skill and there is more risk associated with it, but I can't justify the additional $65 charge they recently implemented. After the service I also bought a face cleanser and my total was $300+ with tip. As a college student, I can't justify spending that type of money and it's really unfortunate since I like this place. Their franchise website says "we got tired of stuffy spas and expensive memberships, so we set out to make quality skincare more accessible for everyone", but I don't see how the increase matches their brand ethos. Maybe in the future I will come back, but it is definitely more of a luxury now. read more
