The esthetician explained each product and was nice but the "really good facial" broke me out worse than I've been in a long time. I came in primarily for acne and told her I have sensitive skin. My home routine is PM gentle cleanser (sometimes double cleanse), tretinoin, barrier cream. AM gentle moisturizer, tinted SPF. The day after, and still now a week later, there was bad almost rash-like breakouts on my face and neck. It stinks for a $99 facial that was marketed as sensitive products and like it could reduce acne. I know everyone's skin is different. Just wanted to advise against getting the facial if you have acne/sensitive skin. BTW do not have cystic acne nor really any blackheads at baseline. Developed a few whiteheads and some worsened of my general acne the day post facial.

Coming here for the first time, I was a little nervous just because I didn't know what to expect. I've made it a little goal of mine though to start taking better care of my skin. I tend to be a workaholic so this was a much needed self care relaxation break. Walking in, this place is very aesthetic. You can tell they are very organized, punctual, and care about cleanliness. They were very welcoming though too, and my esthetician, Madeline, was wonderful from start to finish. Madeline thoughtfully made sure to listen to all of my skincare concerns, and she helped develop a facial that is tailored to my personal needs. I tend to have dry, sensitive skin with eye bags from stress/lack of sleep. By the end of the facial though, I looked and felt like a brand new person. I would 1000% recommend this place to everyone! And honestly, coming from a guy, I initially didn't know anything about skin care other than washing my face daily and sunscreen during the day. Madeline was so nice about educating me on skincare routines, answering questions, and recommending products without being overly pushy to buy anything. I seriously can't wait to come back again soon, enjoy!

This place is an instagrammer's Paradise. In fact, there were people creating content in the lobby when I was there (see photos). Not very relaxing. I was excited to try the $59 intro special facial. And I was drawn to the results oriented skin care that this place claims to be about. The experience: this is not a peaceful pampering place. You will enter into a back room that has about 10 chairs in the back and numerous people getting services done in the same place. There's quite a bit of noise and phones ringing and people talking. My esthetician walked me to the back and sat me into a nice chair. Instead of really explaining to me all of what was included in my current facial that I had signed up for, she immediately started selling me up on add-ons. I wasn't really interested in any add-ons, especially because I wasn't even explained what was in my current facial. It would have been nice for the esthetician to explain the services that were included in the facial I was going to be doing and the benefits of each one and that was lost on me. I really had to push for her to explain. The esthetician started cleansing my face and used such light pressure that it was actually pretty annoying to me. I asked her if she could increase it and she didn't. After about 5 minutes, I wanted to leave. I was more irritated and annoyed by the experience. The lady at the front desk was kind enough to offer for me to come back to see another facialist in the future. I'm hoping that my next experience is better and that I can update this review once some other policies against instagrammers taking content all over the place can be remedied. Heads-up: probably good to hydrate after you get a facial, so you'll want to bring your own water bottle because they don't offer water after the facial . Also, they charge a 3% fee for using a credit card. Would have been nice to know ahead of time

Beautiful and very clean spa. They had a great special going on since they just opened in Houston. It was custom based on what your skin needs. Briana was my specialist and was so sweet and very considerate during my whole process and made me feel very comfortable. I got the 60 minute custom facial which included a lot of perks such as derma planing, extractions, and applied lots of high quality products. I highly recommend. They are also located in a great shopping area in the Heights.

Booked again with Bre and she is the best ever. So worth the money, can't wait to be able to come here more often.

It's refreshing to see such a well-curated selection, especially brands that are actually effective and highly regarded rather than just trendy. The store itself is a quaint little shop tucked away off Bellaire, easy to miss if you're not looking for it, but definitely worth seeking out. The employee I interacted with was friendly, approachable, and genuinely helpful (not pushy) just knowledgeable and willing to answer questions, which I really appreciate when shopping for skincare. Pricing felt average overall, with a few items leaning slightly higher depending on the product. That said, for the convenience of buying in person, knowing the products are authentic, and being able to get guidance if needed, it's absolutely worth it, especially when you're serious about taking care of your skin and not gambling with questionable online sellers. If you're into K-beauty or looking to upgrade your skincare routine with trusted brands, this is a spot you'll want to keep on your list. I'll definitely be back.

This was one of the rudest and most unprofessional experiences we've ever had.

I find it similar to Daiso but with slightly higher prices and much more variety. This store is located at West on West (WoW) on Westheimer which holds several Asian-centric businesses like KBBQ, Japanese sushi, cake and bakery shops, and more. The store is quite large and the aisles are decent sized when it comes to comfortably shopping. You'll see lots of shoppers that come and go in groups whether they're family or friends, but all are very shop curious, as Teso has such a variety of items. It takes time to explore all the things but it is fun to discover unique items you likely won't find elsewhere. The aisles are very well stocked with sweet and savory snacks like cookies, crackers, chips, nuts, dried seafood, chocolates, candies, ice cream etc. They also have a huge wall of specialty drinks in the far back, where you'll also find things like 3D puzzles and toys that are not typical. There's also a row of claw arcade machines in the back so have your hand at the claw if you'd like. There's also a wide variety of beauty items that are Japanese heavy including face masks, mascara, fake lashes, hair dye, and lip sticks. Stationary that is cute and useful is also in abundance. Overall, it's a fun store to shop and stock up on some useful household items and some hard-to-find goods that are great for yourself or a gift to others.

It's located off Westheimer in the same shopping center as 99 Ranch grocery store, Lady M, and Paris Baguette. I stopped in while visiting 99 Ranch and was curious to check it out. The standout here is the selection of beauty products. There are at least two full aisles dedicated to Japanese and Korean skincare, including serums, sunscreens, and face masks. The variety is impressive and convenient if you want everything in one place. That said, prices aren't the best--you can often find better deals online or at other stores--but the selection makes up for it. Toward the back of the store, you'll find snacks and drinks like chips, teas, and bottled beverages. Prices in this section are higher compared to places like H Mart or 99 Ranch, so I wouldn't come here specifically for snacks. Staff were friendly and welcoming when we entered, and parking is easy with a large shared lot. Overall, great spot for Japanese and Korean beauty products, especially if you value selection over price. Just be mindful of pricing and don't expect bargain deals.

These products are definitely cheaper if bought in Korea, but the face shop will do until my next trip out there. I was given a choice between two samples - acne or anti-aging. K Beauty Lab Houston Review: Real Korean Skincare, No Passport Needed…read more It started as a Houston facial visit... but turned into the most legit Korean beauty experience I've had outside of Korea. Why I went I was in Houston for work, fighting off travel breakouts and desperately craving some skin sanity. When searching I kept seeing Instagram posts about K Beauty Lab--not some Pinterest-y "K-beauty inspired" spa, but an authentic Korean-owned, Korean-stocked, Korean-run sanctuary that actually understood skincare. As a medical aesthetician, I've seen a lot of gimmicks, but something about this place had me intrigued. So I booked a session, hopped in an Uber, and crossed my fingers. What actually happened From the outside, it doesn't scream "skincare heaven"--it's located in a strip mall next to a UPS Store. But the moment I stepped through the door, it was like entering a different dimension. Maria (I think that was her name?), who checked me in, welcomed me like I was a long-lost friend and Cherry got me started with a full 3D Korean skin scanner. This wasn't your typical spa gimmick--this thing broke down my skin in terrifying UV detail and literally showed where I'd missed sunscreen that day. (RIP my aesthetician pride.) Then, after analyzing everything, they handed me a full printed report and revealed I had "blooming diamond" skin--cue the happy tears. They built a completely customized facial treatment just for me, using my results. Veronica (I think they was her name?), my esthetician, had trained in Korea I believe -- either way she knew her stuff. We did their signature facial, plus added in K-beauty booster shots, oxygen therapy, multiple masks, and even a gua-sha scalp massage that sent me into another plane of existence. At one point, I actually fell asleep, and I'm usually the person asking 400 questions about every ingredient. She explained every step--like why niacinamide and vitamin C shouldn't be mixed--and didn't push a single product. The entire experience was knowledgeable, gentle, and completely immersive. The Vibes Let's just say I walked out looking like I sleep 9 hours a night, drink chlorophyll water for fun, and have never heard of fried food. My skin was glowing, my breakouts were calm, and my soul felt... soothed. It reminded me of something I once said on @CassandraBankson yt: good skincare is about what's applied and how youre applying it. These people knew what they were doing--and they did it with heart. Mini Critique If I had to reach for a complaint, it'd be the distance--it's a bit far from central Houston, and if you're taking an Uber like I did, it's not a quick zip. Also, some of the treatments can stack up in price if you don't ask upfront, so just be mindful when booking. Logistics It's easy to find with plenty of free parking. They run on time (which deserves its own award), and while there's no WiFi or digital nomad energy here, that's kind of the point--you're here to disconnect. Don't expect a tech setup; expect tea, glowing skin, and a post-facial debrief that'll leave you feeling like a new human. Health & Safety The spa was spotless. Like, medical-grade clean. Tools were sanitized in front of me, the sheets were fresh, and even the air felt like it had been filtered through a eucalyptus diffuser in heaven. The bathrooms were clean, stocked, and had no weird smells. It was honestly one of the most hygienic spa environments I've been in. Verdict Would I go back? Without hesitation. I'd fly back to Houston just to lay on that bed again. If you're even thinking about booking--do it. Let them scan your face, heal your skin, and teach you something new. Already been? Tell me your skin type--did you also get "blooming diamond" or something else? And if you're curious how my skin turned out, catch the glow on ig @CassandraBankson.

I have since modified my skincare routine to better address the issues, and I have seen improvements between facials. However this is a double edged sword because sometimes I change too much at once and end up irritating my skin, so be careful with your new knowledge! Despite my constant convincing, my husband didn't believe in the power of skincare until he got a skin analysis here and was able to see all the "facts and numbers". Now I bring him with me to get facials at the same time with one of the other estheticians, and he really enjoys them too.
