Annabelle, one the owners has a gift for interior design, and she created warm, eclectic and beautifully done rooms throughout. When you walk into the lobby, there is a dusty plastic poinsettia along with an algae contained spider plant on the incoming desk. On the coffee table in the lobby, is a single artificial red rose with a valentine heart. I arrived at 5:15 PM and Devon at the front desk said my room wasn't ready. After 5 to 8 minutes, my room was ready and I was handed my key for room 123. There are sections of the hotel with entrance stores marked A B C etc. Sadly, when I was handed my room key for 123 there are no room numbers on the outside of the building. This means you must enter one of the doors and find your room before you can park your car. The room itself is dated the furniture is held together with duct tape although there is a refrigerator in the room along with the microwave the refrigerator sits on top of a tray. Hence you can't actually close the refrigerator door with ease. I unpacked and entered the bathroom in the toilet was left over loose feces and urine. This immediately alerts me that the room was not thoroughly cleaned. I walked back to the lobby and told Devon of my problem. He said he would send someone to clean the toilet. Sadly after I use the toilet, it could not be flushed. I'm clever enough to open up the tank top and could see that the clapper wasn't moving. I then walked back to the lobby and told Devon of my flight to which he replied. Oh I'll get somebody to help you At 8:30 that evening. I went back to Devon and he said he would be by the room himself in 15 minutes. At 10 PM I shut my lights and went to bed. On the telephone in the room is no indication of a front desk number. In fact, the phone itself is flimsy. I never could get it to work. Breakfast is served from I think 7:30 to 10 AM. Very makeshift it's a make it yourself waffles some sort of egg and a thin patty pork breakfast sausage. There is also an option for oatmeal and bagels and toast. They do offer cream cheese and butter, and the coffee was good however they carry Domino white cane sugar along with Equal. In my experience, white cane sugar went out with black and white TVs. I attempted to use my toilet in the morning and again it did not work. I walked back to the lobby where Kim assured me that she would send someone to fix it. No one ever came to fix it and by 2 o'clock that afternoon, she graciously moved me next-door to room 121. Kim was cordial and helpful. I can't say the same for Kevin who says he's the manager and Devon at the front desk. Truly stay in your car rather than stay in this very fleabag and dated hotel. If I could give it a minus one star I would. Next paragraph when I checked out four nights later, Kevin, who says he's the manager refused to give me compensation for my first night and did offer me a free night when I return next area I looked at him and laughed, and immediately said I would never come back to this hotel again. He should be absolutely embarrassed. The hotel entirely is very damp, which can be expected being close to the water. It also could be remedied.

They have a nice roof deck area with chairs to sit and enjoy the sun or stars or view of the water. This place could be an absolute gem. The grounds need some definite care and leave soo much to be desired. If the little entrance office area was de-cluttered and landscaping was paid attention to could be 5-star for an Inn type place. Based on cost, location and room being clean would definitely stay again for 1-2night stay but beyond that the grounds for middle of summer and location could be so much more and sort of a shame. The right attention to this could make this an adorable Inn. Would say more 3.25 stars but can't give partial ratings and cuteness, cleanness and cost of rooms deserved a good rating. If they decluttered and cleaned the office and put love to the grounds they could probably get double per night.

It didn't give a great impression. The "harbor view" wasn't really what I expected either. You can technically see the water off in the distance most of the view is just rooftops and nearby buildings. Not worth the extra cost, and shouldn't be a selling point of the rooms. Breakfast was very minimal grab-and-go items, and after seeing the condition of the room, I wasn't exactly eager to eat anything there anyway. The staff were neither friendly nor rude, just indifferent. The on-site restaurant was closed during our stay, so I can't comment on that. The hallways also had a noticeable stale odor, somewhere between stale weed and corn chips, which didn't help the overall experience. If you're just looking for a place to crash for a night and need the location, it might do. Otherwise, there are definitely better options in New Bedford.

The beach is the only highlight. Honestly it seems like they are waaay understaffed. There was too many things I saw and asked, why is that like that? I wouldn't recommend it but if they did a few things, they can make this a very good place.
