The plants they sell are great quality. All the plants that I have bought from Home Depot have died. All the plants I have bought from Angel are still alive (even the ones that I have almost killed). That just shows you that they sell healthy plants that can survive under someone who is not the best at gardening. The lavender, hydrangea and phlox that I bought last year all survived winter and has now bloomed this spring and summer. I also love buying vegetables to plant. I have grown jalapenos, kale, rosemary, and thyme from them and have used what I grew for cooking. They're not as big as Weston Nursery but I prefer going to Angel because they are more personable and helpful when I'm there picking my perennials. They even helped me load my plants to my car since they saw me trying to wrangle my unruly toddler. They sell bulk mulch. You just have to bring your big garbage can sized container to fill up. I also think it's cool that there is a pizza truck that comes on Thursdays.

I started to place the order on line, but had a question about delivery time and didn't want to complete the order until I got an answer, so I called. No one answered, and I realized it was just after 2pm closing time on a Saturday. I was disappointed because I wanted to get the order placed, and I'd have to wait until Monday when they reopened. A few minutes later, my phone rang. It was the owner (I think), who'd seen the missed call and called me back. I really apppreciated that she took the time to do this. She answered my question, and I placed the order. At the funeral, I saw that the arrangement was really beautiful, and the message on the card had been hand written. Every May, my sister sends me a gift certificate for my birthday and I go with a friend on a trip to Weston Nurseries in Hopkinton to kick off the gardening adventure for the year. I love going to Weston Nurseries because they make everyone feel like a garden expert. Their staff are helpful and friendly and if they don't know an answer, they'll find someone who does! I was very pleasantly surprised to see their huge selection of perennials had been laid out alphabetically this year!!!!! No more aimless wandering looking for astilbe in the middle of the hellebores or sedum. The prices are a bit higher than other local shops or big box home improvement stores. However, aside from two of the mini plants I bought from the clearance section that died, I have never been disappointed in the quality of things I've purchased there. I had no idea where to start with landscaping my front yard and they worked with me to find several different options for shrubbery. Additionally- I wanted perennials and knew nothing about how to take care of them or how they should be planted but the staff at Bigelow took the extra time to make sure I left confident in my ability to take care of them. I went back a few weeks later to get house plants and the service was the exact same as it was before. You could be a business buying plants for your fields or someone who just wants a single succulent and Bigelow will treat you the same. I left feeling like these guys actually care about the long term well being of the inventory they sell. I will definitely be back in the future.

Hopkinton provided wonderful trees for us and approximately 15 of our neighbors…read more Karen from Hopkinton worked with 2 of our neighbors to narrow down the choices for trees that would replace those that had previously been removed in our neighborhood due to disease. We ended up selecting Paperbark Maples that are visually interesting in all seasons. Hopkinton was able to provide larger, healthier trees at much better prices than other nurseries. Before installation day, people could go to Hopkinton and select their tree, or Karen would select a tree for each homeowner. Hopkinton also arranged for the utilities to be marked on each property and told homeowners how to prepare the site and indicate where each tree should be planted (Hopkinton could prepare the site if the homeowner preferred). On installation day, the trees were delivered and efficiently installed, homeowner questions were answered, and each site was left in good shape. Homeowners were also informed how to care for their trees, particularly in terms of watering for the first 2 years. In addition, a 1-year guarantee was given so that any tree that did not survive would be replaced at no charge. The trees have been installed for 6 months now - all have grown and look great. With the start of Autumn, the leaves are turning a lovely red. Whether you are an individual looking for landscaping, or you are part of a group wanting to do a major project, explore your options with Hopkinton! Because of contractor delays--which happen to everyone in home improvement--I ended up 12 days past their return window on a minor $60 product. Despite seeing my receipt history and the fact that I had just spent nearly $1,000 with them, customer service completely refused to take the item back or even offer store credit. It is incredibly frustrating that a massive company will happily take your money for a major project but won't accommodate a minor, 12-day delay caused by building schedules. Take your business to a supplier that actually appreciates your loyalty and understands how real-world renovations work.
