There's not a lot of things I regret in life but going to Liberty Accounting & Tax Services is TOP…read moreof the list. I trusted this company since they did a good job filing my taxes last year. However this year will be the last year I use them. SERVICE: I was quoted $100 to do my taxes, 2 W2, bank interest and my stocks. When they called me to tell me to pick up my taxes, I was notified that I had to owe $100+ to NJ. First off, anyone who can do a quick Google search knows that if you're living in NY and working in NJ- you should get all your NJ taxes back. That was not the case until I explained it to them and they gave me some excuse about how I still had to pay? What? This made no sense. I know countless of other people who work in NJ and live in NY get all their NJ taxes back from CERTIFIED CPA PROFESSIONALS. (Note: there is probably only 1 CPA accountant here) Everyone else that is doing your taxes are graduates from low tier schools (Queens College, Baruch- all schools that I got a full academic ride too + pretty hefty stipend to attend- which I potentially declined) I told them to recheck because that's not the case and what do you know? I miraculously got back my NJ taxes! (So you're telling me you've been doing taxes for how long and don't know this yet I've only worked in NJ for 2 months and somehow knew this? O. KAY.) WHEN I PICKED MY TAXES: I was quoted $100 and when I came in they told me it was $250 in total! What?! First of all, how are you going to quote me $100 and then ask for $250? Which is 1.5X the amount? I questioned them that their estimate is way off and Vivian said "it happens" and "your stocks are what made it so expensive." I waited to speak with Ms. Wu who said that she'll give me $5 off. I proceeded to tell her that wasn't the case and I'm only going to pay an additional $20 since I deposited $80. She demanded the full $250 and I said I was going to take my taxes somewhere else. This action really ticked her off bc she aggressively handed me my taxes and said I wasn't going to get my $80 back. She said "you're getting so much back already that's nothing compared to your refund!" Okay, am I just your personal ATM, where if I have a lot of cash, you're gonna withdraw a larger amount? Really great scare tactic that you're pulling off there Ms. Wu. Too bad I wasn't born yesterday. Then she proceeded to say "that's like you eating lunch and then not paying for it." No it's not bc I said "that's like me paying $10 for lunch when I knew it was $10 and then when I'm done, I'm getting asked for another $50!" She was silent. Go figure. I held my composure until she started feeling uncomfortable and got nasty with me saying "take us to court then!" And proceeded to give me her business card. O KAY MS WU, ESQ. I've worked at prestigious law firms with attorneys who have far more class, respect than you, education and morals than you. I told her I had only $40 on me and that I will pay that but nothing more. She kept ranting about some nonsense and was super unprofessional in front of her entire staff. I told her i didn't have time for this and was going to be late to meet with my friend so I was going to pay the $40 and then come back next week. This really caught her attention and I asked her how much would I have to pay and she said "What? You can't do math?" SERIOUSLY. You are talking like this to a customer? What makes you think I'll come back here again to do my taxes? As a matter of fact, all the people I've recommended this place and have been loyal customers are no longer going to get their taxes done here! So Ms Wu ESQ. Not only did you lose 1 customer, but you've lost a entire clientele! I quickly paid the $40, told them I was going to come back next week and give them the rest and left. I did get an additional $20 off so go figure that. TIPS: Don't go here. They scam you. They ask for a high deposit and when they realize you're getting a high refund, they'll ask for a larger amount than what they quote you! STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY! I have never in my entire life been disrespected so much by "professionals." WHAT A JOKE!

I've filed my taxes here before... more than once.... but never had the Ms./Mrs. Ruth Wu experience…read moreuntil 2016.... and then I experienced all the bad reviews on yelp first hand.... lol As an existing client, they mail you a postcard for $5 off if you file your taxes with them before the end of february. So went in Jan.2016, and I called before going, they quoted me $35 for individual filing and they take cash only, no credit cards. I go in there, Ms./Mrs.Wu tended me and my partner. She chats with you the whole time, asking questions about your life and etc (some inappropriate for acquaintance to ask and comment on, let alone during a business transaction too) , and before you know it... she's telling you to file taxes for $150 with itemized tax deduction, or you'll be paying a lot this year; followed up by a rough estimation of how much she can get back for you to tempt you. But then she won't honor the $5 postcard, because she says she's saving you a bundle already when you file your taxes for $150, so you end up feeling like you just got hustled ...walking out with your pants down your ankles kind of feeling....and just angry. Saving thousands of dollars, shouldn't make you feel like you just got ass raped by fleece johnson (from prison aka, the booty bandit). And not honoring your own offers!?!... i mean come on, it's not even the amount, it's the principal of things.. and not how business should be done in America.... (maybe in China...but still...Flushing is in the USA)
