Totally last minute (well day) before I flew out of state, I decided - Let's try sugar waxing! But…read morehonestly, I have been wanting to try sugar waxing for a while now. I am a seasoned hard waxer and have my regular gal in phoenix for brazis, so that wont change. But underarms, i figured I'd give Hello Sugar a try. The location was super easy to find. Granted I worked in that area for 20 years, so i already knew how to get there. Its a small cute little establishment right off 3rd avenue and drinkwater. TIP - Enter from 3rd ave. Wearing a tank top, i jumped on the table and was ready to go! The esthetician took her time and walked me through the whole process as she was going along. One thing that was kinda meh - that pre waxing powder was everywhere. Not just on my skin (which is where it should be, but also on my clothes. I was pretty happy with the hairless results, but let me tell you one thing though...the process....IT WAS SPICY! I thought i was used to the pain of hard waxing. Sugaring was on another level. I may give it another try to test out if it was just a one time spiciness issue. :D

I had the most fabulous facial today. This is a one woman shop & she's been open since last May…read more Her suite is tucked away in the back & is an inside unit, which is perfect for helping you relax & be present for this amazing facial. One of the first things I noticed was how warm & inviting she was. Super nice & clearly had a passion for what she was doing. One of the other things I noticed was this really cool & relaxing light display she had that shone on the wall & the ceiling. It was one of those details that could be totally overlooked but she clearly put thought into it & it made a difference. It really added to the relaxing vibe of the suite. She asked about allergies & made sure the products she was using wouldn't cause a reaction. She asked if I wanted updates about what she was doing &/or why, or if I simply wanted to zen/chill out. I opted for the latter, I definitely needed the zen, & I can say confidently it was needed. I even fell asleep a handful of times. To me, that is a sign of absolute zen but also trust. Even though she's amongst other single room salons, she too, every precaution to make sure the room remained as quiet, dark, & relaxed as possible. She had this high vibration music playing that added greatly to the relaxation of the whole appointment. We did the LED facial & it was really cool. Totally loved it. Something else that she did, which I really appreciated was when she was allowing the mask & LED light to do its magic, she didn't just massage my hands & forearms. Oh no! She massaged them, wrapped them, & then added heated muffs (mittens?). Whatever it was, it was magic. But she didn't just stop with the hands. She did the feet too & added the heated muffs. (Mittens?) to my feet too. Boy oh boy was it amazing. One other thing I appreciated. She has products available for purchase but never once did she push. They were available if I wanted or had questions. I absolutely love when the product is available but there isn't a push or a "you must have this because of X, Y, & Z." My skin looked awesome & I was totally relaxed. I would highly recommend booking an appointment for yourself, your friends, your family, EVERYONE! I will definitely make a trip back to see her. Treat yo self.
