They carefully opened up the wall where the hive was, made clean cuts, and neatly stacked everything they removed. Most importantly, they removed the honeycomb and bees without using any chemicals. It took just over a week for the rest of the bees to clear out (exactly what they said to expect), and they were ready to come back for follow-up if needed. Just know that they don't patch the wall right away--they leave it open for a couple of weeks to make sure all the bees are gone, and they let you know upfront that you'll need to handle repairs separately. Plan for that! What really stood out to me was how experienced and respectful they were--both to me and the bees. No poisons, no shortcuts. As someone who cares about the environment and didn't want chemicals inside my walls, this meant a lot. Bee Rooted knows what they're doing, and they do it right. 100% recommend!

I was super tempted to pick up a bunch of chocolate when walking around, but since it was pretty hot outside I had to settle for the farms own Orange Juice and a big fat rice crispy treat with chocolate and pretzel on top. The orange juice was OH SO refreshing on this hot day and the rice crispy treat was really good as well. Overall, The Cal Poly Pomona Farm Store is a great place to stop and pick up a few things. The produce was grown and picked by the CPP students. We also were able to purchase honey from CPP; the honey was produced at the school and jarred by students. There were about 8 food trucks. After we took a walk around, we went into the farm store. It was packed with people and the line was snaked around the interior of the store. I've never seen so many varieties of tomato plants or this many people interested in purchasing plants. We didn't walk away with a tomato plant this time around, but perhaps next time.
