The cool little cycling drawbridge is pretty cool too. The restaurant itself was very nice. I was here at "happy hour" after work, very friendly people working there. To be honest, if someone didn't say hello and greet me (not even sure if she was working there or just a guest) I probably would have left. They have Grolsch Weizen beer on tap as well as many others. I miss the Wiezen at my own bar, so that's why I stopped here. Super friendly, young, helpful bar and wait staff. Only breakfast, lunch and bar snacks (at night) due to the Covid restrictions. It's difficult to fully ramp-up a restaurant these days IF you play by the government rules so I commend and respect them for not filling this place with people which I'm sure they could. It was raining outside so I can only imagine how crowded the outdoor terrace would be in the sun. I look forward to many more visits since my new office is in the same building....woo hoo!

The food looked good being brought out, and the people looked happy, pretty crowded together. We took a table near the street and it was not a problem because it is a bike and pedestrian street only, and we also had a view of the canal which was very busy traffic. We asked for a menu in English and noticed it was on the back of the regular menu. Service was friendly as we ordered a bourbon and a beer at a very reasonable price. We then ordered a starter. Arugula and Cheese Croquettes with Sourdough bread. The 4 little fried croquettes were cheesy. It came with 2 slices of Sourdough bread and a little lettuce and tomato salad. That is more of a meal than a starter. For lunch, we ordered a Toastie Ham and Cheese and a Toastie Italiano. The ham and cheese was basic but the Italiano had a nice seasoning inside and a few thick slices of tomato on the slice of salami and cheese. Both sandwiches pressed perfectly, and both were very good. Sitting outside was lovely, and we enjoyed our meal, especially because the service was so good. I would definitely come back.

The bitterballs, even though they scratched the roof of my mouth from how crispy they are, were delicious. Might not work out for others though. Cinnamon ice cream was really tasty, but it was a very meager scoop. Overall, I'd come here again if I had a lot of time to relax!
