For starters, the guy who checked us in is a complete f***ing a**hole. He should NOT be behind a counter doing any type of customer service. I didn't catch his name, but you'll know who I'm talking about if you get as unlucky as I was and have to deal with him. The car we got is dented all over. He definitely didn't make it a point for us to document everything. The rate we were quoted continually kept rising every second I stood at the counter. I did get it down to the original quote price but I know he kept adding things as if I wouldn't notice. I specifically asked if the car had been smoked in - more than once. He told me no several times. Sure enough, this car has no doubt been smoked in. Overly annoyed by everything at this point. Never will I rent a car here again. read more

The employee was very dishonest. I asked for an SUV with 4 Wheel Drive. He said he would get one then asked me to sign the contract. Once I signed he said, actually this car doesn't have 4 wheel drive. Hope that's okay. He then took us out to the car. It was a small ford hatchback. The same size as a compact car. I rented a car for literally 4 HOURS! Yes I had my dog with me but the car was the exact same as when I picked it up with an addition of a few dog hairs on the front seat. I figured it would have to be cleaned anyway (aren't they practicing Covid prevention) and vacuumed just as it should always be upon return. They upcharged me $50 for cleaning! And I only had it 4 hrs, not even the 24. I realize I owed for a full day but really, how hard is it to vacuum 1 seat?!? Avoid this screw job!!! read more

We rented a car at 5 minutes to 5 when they close. The manager, obviously of Indian decent was rude and offensive. We rented for four days at an extremely high price f about 650 dollars. We were told that if we returned the car in three days we would only have to pay for three days. We returned the car theee days later at 5 o'clock. The ignorant and rude manager refused to allow us to return the car. We needed 5 minutes to unload it. He said he had to go he didn't have time to wait. He told us to park the car on the lot and put the keys in the drop box. So we got charged another day. Then instead of leaving he went into his office and sat there the whole time. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I rented a car in California to pick up a car I purchased in Utah. I was driving there and back in one day so I was kind of in a hurry. When I showed up at hertz no one was there. I called the number and the employee said they'd be right back. I asked how long as I was trying to get back on the road for my long return home. He said 2 minutes. When he arrived in the parking lot he walked right past us with no acknowledgement. I didn't know if he was the employee or not so I walked back in and sure enough he was. He came out and said that I didn't fill up the car. I said I literally just filled it up 1/2 mile down the road. He said he could not rent this car because it's not full and that when he fills it up it will be 9.99 a gallon. I went back to the gas station which took me roughly 20 mins because it wouldn't print out a receipt and put .84 cents worth in. When I returned he sarcastically asked is it full now? This is neither of our vehicle and I am a professional driver. Sometimes vehicles tanks burp and you could put more fuel in. But to make me waste my time for .84 cents of fuel seemed a bit petty. I have never in my life experienced such terrible customer service as I have today. We prepaid and booked a rental SUV for our wedding but our flight was delayed so we couldn't pick it up till after they closed. We called corporate and the location and corporate said they would hold it but the location said we only had two hours after the reservation to pick it up. We arrived and they had no car for us unless we wanted to pay 3x the price we originally paid. We were stranded before our wedding with no ride. Thankfully Enterprise had an SUV and even gave us a deal. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. It is terrible and you will regret it. The guy is rude, nasty and unhelpful. read more

Just had an incredibly difficult experience at Hertz on N. Bluff St. in St. Geroge, UT. Rented a car here through our travel agent so we could drive from Cedar City, Utah to the Vegas airport. Had to do it from St. George, Utah because Cedar didn't have any one way rental deals. My husband and I drove one of parents' cars from Cedar to pu the rental. We don't rent cars very often. Went to pay and the employee (Jonathan?) said they only accepted credit cards not debit/credit cards. Explained that we'd have to drive back to Cedar to get one of my parents' cards, and asked if they could make an exception since it's almost an hour trip. Said no. Asked if someone could pay with a credit card over the phone. Said no. Told them I had a credit card that expired a couple of months ago and that I could call my credit card company and ask if they had a way to make it go through despite the recent expiration date. Said even if the credit card company found a way to do that, he still would not accept it. We're in between a rock and a hard place because our flight from Vegas leaves the next day at noon and we couln't book a shuttle at this time to get to the Vegas airport in time. Called my 80 year old mother to ask her to drive to St. George to provide a credit card. She takes care of my cancer stricken father and felt uncomfortable leaving him, but agreed to drive down with a card. In the meantime I'm texting with a customer service rep at Hertz who tells me that if we are over 25, have 2 forms of ID and can show our tickets to the airport, that we can pay with a debit card. We're in our late 40's, have ID up the wahoo and can show 5 TICKETS TO THE AIRPORT. Show the text to the represenative and he says he still won't accept the debit card. Finally my poor mom arrives and uses her credit card to pay. Jonathan very rude and unaccommodating the entire time. Such a pain and didn't abide by Hertz's policy of allowing customers to pay with debit cards when they can show their airline ticket. (We had 5!!) We also booked the car rental significantly more than 24 hours in advance. read more

Stay away! These guys are completely dishonest. When my wife picked up the car, the guy was rude and all of the stuff he was saying about pointing out damage and being responsible for it. She didn't even want to take the car. She should've followed her instincts. When it was time to drop it off, the guy said he would be there until 5 pm. We wanted to make sure he was there so there was no funny business. Of course, when we showed up he wasn't there as stated. We called him and he said he was out at the airport. He said to leave the keys in the dropbox. My wife was not happy. We should've just kept the car. We accidentally left our garage remote in the car so we called them back and they said we would have to wait until Monday to pick it up. When I called them Monday, the guy said yes we have it and when you get here we need to fill out an incident report for the damage on the vehicle.
