He told me the increase came from insurance, toll access, and 2 more days for renting. I asked for my original deal which he did provide, but then he asked me for my car insurance. Of course I was uncomfortable providing that, and decided to leave, and I'm glad I did, because now a pending charge of more than $462 is on my credit card. Almost double that. I advise people renting here to be on their A game when going in and to not back down. Or of course, you can go to some honest salespeople or half decent location.

I had to rent a car through no fault of my own through Ford because they had an issue with my truck. Ford paid for the rental. Ford and this Hertz have a contract which allows the person renting the car to leave the car with Ford for convienence, which is nice. However, what they don't tell you at Hertz is that if they are short staffed and have nobody to pick up the car the day you drop it off at Ford they charge you the customer a daily charge until they pick it up and put it back in their system. This is bad business. I spoke to the manager there named, Jamal Harris, and he basically tried to rush me out like they didn't do anything wrong. Customers shouldn't have to pay for their shortcomings. If I hadn't had the money I would have overdrafted and then I would have to pay my bank because they can't keep a staff of drivers at a car rental place. Ridiculous. If you don't want a headache, please don't rent from this location. Terrible.

I had an appointment to pick up at rental vehicle at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026. When I…read morearrived on-time, I checked in, and the person at the desk told me, "I'm gonna go see what's what." Then left. For 30 minutes. When that person and the manager finally surfaced, I asked what was going on with my vehicle. I was then told that it was currently getting an oil change and would be back in 15 minutes. Fifteen minutes later, I was told it was going to be another 10 minutes. In 10 minutes, the manager told me it had arrived. But when I asked if I should go out to get it, he told me no, that he would walk me out. Ten minutes later, I had to insist he walk me out, because he seemed to have forgotten that I was there. All told, I was sitting there for more than an hour before I was able to leave. Of course, this put a serious damper on the weekend plans we had. On top of all of this, they had lied about getting an oil change. The oil gauge on the car said the oil was at 90% health. It should have been either 100% or pretty low -- 10%? -- if the car had had an oil change. Furthermore, the car had no windshield washer fluid -- which is topped off with pretty much any oil change. Not a big deal, usually, but this is love bug season in Florida. And yeah, it was pretty hard to see out of the windshield by the end of the weekend. I will say that the entire staff working on Monday, Sept. 21, when I returned the vehicle was excellent. Prompt, courteous, polite. That entire weekend crew -- along with the branch manager -- needs to be replaced.

We went to drop off the truck Friday night at 6:30 and the gates were locked. A worker was inside. We asked him if he could open the gate. He stated he didn't have a key and that we could park the truck right outside the gate and bring the keys Monday. We went to drop off the keys and Omar was checking us in. I told him we needed to get fuel. He went out and looked at the fuel and he told me he was charging my credit card $450!!! I told him I only had cash due to the equifax breach. He gave the keys to the truck to one of the workers who took off in it before we were given the opportunity to take it to fill it. He proceeded to call me a fraud and a scam artist as well as a stupid bitch while he was calling Penske. He lied to them and told them that we weren't told to leave the truck there and that he was on the phone with the employee the entire time and he wasn't!! He continued to call me names and I walked out. I called Penske and they told me I could go to a different location to pay for fuel and that the employee would be written up. Now I have to go back to Penske a THIRD time and pay for gas at a further away location. What a joke!!! Next time we will use U-Haul!!!!
