Not Good. No Bueno. Terrible. I was certain that I did everything right, I was prepared. I made the reservation on Hertz.com. I had big big plans and Hertz was the lynch pin. If Hertz fell through, I was screwed. Boy did they fall through. On the morning of the reservation I rushed over and arrived at the exact time their website said they opened. They would not arrive and open until a full hour later. The lady behind the desk was unpleasant from the moment I exclaimed "Good Morning". She tried to ignore me, but that was impossible, I was the only other person in the entire place besides her. Upon looking up my reservation she simply said "I ain't got no car for you" and slowly turned around and retreated to an office. End of conversation. I was screwed. I'm looking to help save anyone from trying to rent a vehicle from Hertz @ North Platte regional airport. Heads-up - don't rent here, it's full of problems. We had a reservation we made @ Hertz.com, unlmited mileage and about a $30'ish dollar a day. Upon arrival at the North Platte regional airport I went to pick up the car. They quizzed me on where i was going to drive, how often, was it for work or was it personal. They said unless the rental is 100% work they wouldn't honor the rate hertz had quoted me. They also said "we don't have the SUV that Hertz confirmed for you. they said they knew they didn't have an SUV but figured they'd call me when i arrived. The rate quadrupled and unlimited mileage is off the table. They were rude as they explained they are a Hertz "licnesee" and not Hertz locations and that hertz does not communicate or check with them on cars and rates. Bottom line, don't bother renting from here. This place is not helpful, blame Hertz for everything and will tell you they aren't honoring Hertz. BUT, the big yellow sign at the counter is Hertz. I have no idea why Hertz corporate does business with this particular Licensee. read more

The lady that was there was very helpful and she went the extra mile for me when I wasnt able to reach anyone but the automated system at Hertz Denver International Airport, after I left an item in the car and was already at the Airport she called the Denver office and by the time I landed in Portland they had called me and said they have it... Well, it's 10:42pm, our flight landed a half an hour ago, and the woman at the car rental desk just locked up and left. It would have been nice to avoid walking to town, but she said she didn't want to stay long enough to help us. I guess that's why everyone says not to use thrifty and hertz. read more
