Usually I have no issues coming here.. Yesterday I did.. I took my 5 year old to Disney On Ice like usual.. We got there around about 30 mins early.. Waited outside in line which wasn't a big deal.. Get to check in & the new lady tells me my bag is not regulation which it is.. And literally all I had in it was a jacket.. I told her I bring this bag every time.. It's been measured & it is within guidelines.. She told me I could not bring it in.. So I put it in the car & then had to sit again in the hot sun to get back in.. I later talked to a security guard about it.. He said she's new & is confused.. I don't care if she's new!! She was wrong & it ruined my time there!!

A pretty good venue that I took the drive up from Plantation for because a couple bands I wanted to see were performing here. The parking is very easy to figure out, with the price being $30 it was a little hefty but you can't do much about it. Payment was quick and we went along our way. There isn't much in terms of help with parking and it is more or less a figure it out where to park on your own. When doors opened, the lines went super slow, they only have two people scanning tickets. One of which was having problems with their scanner so there was a long backup of people waiting to get in. Staff was apologetic though, it wasn't their fault. Prices here for drinks are quite reasonable and I ended up getting a 20oz shipyard pumpkin ale for ten dollars, which really isn't a bad price. It was poured perfectly and the taste was amazing! They also had popcorn and other generic food you can get at arenas. While it did look good, I skipped out on food and snacks because I already ate before. No one helped us to our seats so we had to figure them out ourselves. It was easy to find them but if the show as going on and it was dark, it would have been difficult to find them for sure. The sound during the bands was great and you could hear everything very clearly! Leaving was super easy and the workers were nice with sending us off. A nice arena that I would go to again if I had to but I wouldn't drive the 100+ miles if it there was an event I didn't care about missing for sure.

I went to this Hertz Arena for the first time with my husband and friends to see the Florida Everglades Hockey Game. Soooooo cool!! What an awesome arena! I really liked the spacious atmosphere and the giant TVs that surrounded the ice skating rink. I loved the music and air horn that they sounded when we scored a goal. Fun experience! I can't wait to go back for another game/event!!

My home away from home each week for Blades games. They're still doing a great job of providing a great product on and off the ice. There really isn't a bad seat in the house for hockey, but no one is going to take my reserved seat away from me for the season! They recently renovated the rink to match NHL standards (about time!), and probably due to their new contract with the Florida Panthers. They were able to get the job done even with housing hundreds of displaced citizens from the horrible storm during October. The benches have been rebuilt for both teams adding more length and depth, while also installing floor monitors for the coaches! Really sweet adds, plus a notch separating both benches for special seating for some lucky fans. It's a really cool addition. The boards and glass are amazing, and are much safer for play by eliminating hard corners and more flex to the glass. Plus, the look really changes sight lines and upgrades the experience from the seats. It's quite noticeable and was much needed. Concessions can be hit or miss depending on who they have staffed. Understandably, most of the people working are volunteers from local high schools where I believe Hertz provides some of the money to their respective programs. My biggest suggestion for each stand would be to have two lines dedicated to solely serving beers, and other lines just for food. It would make things move so much faster, b/c most of the cashiers are teenagers and have to search for an adult to pour a cold one (or two). They have alleviated some of this by having stand-alone carts on the short side of the promenade around the arena, but it's just a band-aid to the problem. Overall, having a terrific arena for not only hockey but all kinds of events and concerts in our backyard is one of the greatest things in SW Florida. Not to mention, having a 2-time Kelly Cup Champion who consistently are at the top of the ECHL year after year to cheer for is something to look forward to every week. Go Blades!

I hope people actually check reviews because I was trying to find a link to file a complaint at the Hertz but couldn't find it. The staff at the check-in where you check your bags are retired people who don't have any respect for anyone. They also are not culturally competent. They are arrogant and don't use the proper wording to give you instructions. If you are supposed to not walk in with your purse, it only takes one time to say, please return your purse to your car and explain the regulations. They also look down on people who are not club members. I hope this changes. And this message goes to comedians, and event planners with the outmost respectful thoughts. My purse was a size acceptable by any arena. It was a Vera Bradley Women's Ripstop Sling Backpack, see attached picture. It was smaller than the one a lady had which was a see through plastic medium size pouch, but because it was see through they allowed it. Point being, they neglected to explain the carry on purse rules correctly. Two games ago, ironically, I brought the same purse and nobody said a thing.

Hertz arena opened in November of 1998. It has a seating capacity of 7,181. The Florida Everblades, a professional minor league hockey team, has been a primary tenant since it's opening. We came on a Wednesday night to watch the Florida Everblades in the Kelly Cup Playoffs, Conference Finals, Game 3 in best of 7. The Everblades had a 2-0 series lead over the Newfoundland Growlers. We arrived approximately 30 minutes early. Parking was $15. (cash only), and there was no problem finding a good parking spot with only a short walk to the entrance. After walking through a metal scanner I produced the tickets I had downloaded to the attendant who scanned them, and we were in. Employees were friendly, courteous, and were greeting customers as they arrived. As is the case with most arenas, the outer hallways had various food and drink booths featuring beer, water, soda, nacho's, pizza, ice cream etc.. There were vendors selling Everblades jerseys and memorabilia. The seating areas were well marked with arrows pointing the way and attendants to assist. As many reviewers have pointed out there's no bad seats and it's the truth. Every seat has a good view of the action on the ice. However the seats are not overly large and there are no cup holders. Speaking of action on the ice, if you've never been to a professional ice hockey game, you really should go. Everyone was having a great time cheering on the home team, participating in the singalongs, and enjoying the huge widescreen overhead cam. This is a family fun event with many youngsters in attendance and they were having a ball! It was an exciting and excellent game. There were a lot of excellent passes, and some great individual efforts in both scoring and goal saving. Multiple power plays provided plenty of excitement. After a hard hitting match, the home team ended up winning 4-3. It was a great game, a great time.

Fantastic Skating Show - Stars on Ice!

Hertz Arena can accommodate 7000+ patrons. For a small-town indoor stadium, it is not bad! We have attended many hockey games, basketball games, concerts, even business events here from former Germaine Arena to now the Hertz Arena. One of great advantage of Hertz Arena because its size, there is no bad seat. I must admitted that we are not hockey fan, but we never heard of Everblade until we were invited to one of their games by our neighbors many years ago. We enjoyed a few cold beers, drinks and snacks especially their glazed pecan, walnuts, almond and peanut. It is nice to have a local ice-skating rink. Recently, we went to "Stars on Ice" show feature Ice Skating Professionals, and Olympians. They skated their hearts out! A beautiful and enjoyable show! We have a minor incident at the stadium entrance. One member of party has a purse which is slightly bigger the allowable 6.5 x 4.5-inch size, the attendant made her to put her purse back in the parked car. I don't mind you search for prohibited items but reject the purse for size just half inch larger is ridicule! The size of purse must be a safety concern in Hertz arena management! Another patron on the next check in lane has to empty her bottled water before she is allowed to enter the stadium! One of my complaints is their parking. It is small! The charges range from $15 to $25. Wow, for a minor league facility? This is a small-town parking with a big city price!

Hertz Arena in Estero, Florida is an amazing experience for anyone interested in being apart of live music, entertainment, and sports events! The venue has a staff that goes above and beyond to make all feel welcome, safe, and are attentive to helping quests make it the most enjoyable time during the event. I was grateful to be invited as a guest of the Yelp group's SWFL Elite Badge Members event night to cheer and celebrate another win for the Florida Everglades Hockey League. Additionally to the excitement this was the Everglades 4th straight win! Visitors to Florida, Florida residents and Snowbirds put the Hertz Arena on your bucket list as a destination if you want to experience a beautiful arena, a staff that sets the bar high for guests, and a wide variety of booked events that are available for all who want an immersive experience.

A group of us went to watch the game after lunch to cheer for our local team and dreaming FGCU playing in the NCAA Tournament! We have our Raining 3, Wings Up, and our white shirts and tops on to support FGCU Eagles - Dunk City vs Lipscomb's Bison. First, FGCU has a talented roster with transfer from Miami, VCU, UCF, Michigan and Iowa State. Lipscomb is more homegrown team with local talent from Nashville area. It was Lipscomb first time in 12 years at the Atlantic Sun Final. However, Lipscomb beat FGCU three times at the Alico Arena. We missed shots, dunked and outplayed in the first half. FGCU cut the Lipscomb's 31 points lead to five in eight minutes in the second half. Strong team effort with leadership from guard Goodwin and Johnson. The arena rock!!! But ... with guard Zach Johnson (37 points) fouled out in the last remaining few minutes, the only hope is try for title next year. Lipscomb 108, FGCU 96. We lost! May be next year we can have Bison Burger for lunch at the Atlantic Sun Conference Final!

I am used to the Amway Center in Orlando, but for a university arena, this is a nice place. I can't comment on concessions or other services as I am here for a different type of venue, but it seats 4700 and is designed well. Seats are a plastic blue, folding type of chair with enough room for an above average derrière (wink, wink). That's about it for me, until I come again maybe for a game.

Let's start with how everything is practically still brand new. As a relatively young college all the buildings and classrooms are top notch and new. As someone who went to a college that has been around much longer, FGCU has the nicest facilities I've seen. And that's not just for the student athletes or the privileged, that is for everyone. You also have a private beach on campus with a boat for rent. Once again something that is almost unparalleled with other college campuses. Next you have the unique location of being sandwiched between two amazing cities, Forty Myers and Naples. The amount of money has such an impact on the surrounding areas it's amazing. Everywhere you go you have the best shopping and dining anyone could possibly ask for. All within 15 minutes of campus and everywhere is pretty much a friendly neighborhood. Lastly the academics here are getting better and will continue to improve. FGCU is still young and relatively easy compared to other big schools but I'm sure this will change in the coming years. This is a unique college with a pretty awesome experience waiting for someone to come give it a whirl.
