I've had Jennifer cut and style my hair for a very long time, and the quality of her work is…read moreabsolutely incredible. She does a fantastic job of making you feel comfortable with your hair, of doing a great job of the style, and making you feel at home. There are a lot of stylists who can make you feel uncomfortable, seem a bit judgemental or want to go with their own choices; I've always left an appointment with Jennifer feeling uplifted by the cut, the style, the conversation. Really great stylists do more than just cut hair, they help you find the choices that make you feel good and they make you feel completely safe in the outcome. The cozy environment here does exactly that, and that's why they are always booked pretty solid. It may take you a while to get an appointment, but it is definitely worth it. Once you have this kind of experience, it's hard to go back to anything else. I think every woman has had at least one bad stylist or one bad experience where someone wants to tell you how to do it, or you don't feel comfortable with things coming together; maybe you don't trust the outcome. There is a real reason why people travel for an hour or more to come to this salon. Try it once and you're going to know exactly why.

I not only left with the best hair cut and color I have ever had, but with a care package that inspired me. I will never go to another salon. This is now my new salon home. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for professional, kind and loving staff.

I'd been considering getting a Brazilian wax done and after asking around on Facebook, one of the…read moresuggestions was Beauty Brands. I did some calling around to other suggested places and no one could get me in on the day that I was able to go, so I went with Beauty Brands because they had an opening. The store was clean and the staff was friendly. I went with one of the senior estheticians to ensure that I was taken care of properly as this was my first wax and I wanted it to be as pleasant of an experience as possible. The room I was taken to was clean, no wax on the walls or floor, the towels appeared clean. The woman doing my wax was friendly and we talked the whole time, so it wasn't awkward. She didn't double dip or have to go over spots too much. Like I said, this was my first wax and it was not at all what I expected. I'd read up on it for a week or so before committing to the idea and everything that I'd read said talc powder is used and helps with the pain a little as because the wax isn't sticking to the skin as much. I'm not sure if it's typical Beauty Brands practice NOT to use talc powder, but when I asked about it, the esthetician said that it's primarily used for leg and arm waxing, not pubic waxing which is the opposite of what I'd read (I also asked a few people who've been waxed elsewhere if talc powder is generally used with Brazilian waxes and they said yes, it is used and helps with the pain). I have a pretty high tolerance for pain but this experience had me sweating, shaking like crazy, bordering on hyperventilation, and almost in tears. I still had a few hairs left, they weren't tweezed or anything but I think the esthetician felt bad and didn't want me to go through anymore pain. Needless to say, I won't be getting a Brazilian ever again. Even thinking about getting waxed again makes me cringe. I don't think Beauty Brands is at fault, though I do think using talc powder would've helped and something they should look into, especially for $56 plus a tip.

I don't know why this location has a bad rating. I have gone to many Sally locations, but I have…read morebeen going to this one for years. It is small but straight forward, and we'll organized. At least one employee always greets me. I usually know what I want, but on the occasion that I don't, the employees are knowledgeable and help me decide; even if it's just a matter of opinion. Also, I love love love that it has been mostly "alternative" people working here for the past few years. When I'm asking which green hair dye lasts the longest / skews yellow instead of blue, it is nice to be talking to someone who has experience dying their hair funky colors as well. I always recommend Sally to friends, and sometimes strangers who ask about my hair.

I like this location. As a make up artistry student, I need certain things, but the number one…read morething I needed was my nails to be revamped. Generally I can do my own. This location had all I needed, (except the UV lamp that crapped out, and I returned it, but that's not the store's fault.) They don't carry the nail shellac system, which is unfortunate. I was able to get a makeup cape for $3, and disposable mascara wands. They have huge bags of cotton balls, and make up sponges. They carry the Femme Couture line in eye shadow and carry the Finger Paints line in nail polish. While I can't stand generic shampoo, I don' t mind generic hair spray, and was able to grab that, as well. Brushes, combs, fake hair, real hair, feathers for hair, if it's for hair, most likely it's there. I don't always like the make up line, perse, and prefer Sephoras. granted Femme Couture isn't MAC or NARS, and I don't buy my personal products there, except for eye shadow. Femme Couture is a highly pigmented product, and produces good coverage in the eye area. The employees are mostly helpful (except for the UV lamp, bah.)...returned it to the other Sally's location, and you would have thought I committed a cardinal sin.
