Joel Ford is an expert in estate law and planning, financial considerations of money management, trusts, wills, etc. Joel is also an expert in sharing information, application, choices and implications of setting up a complicated trust. Joel took time to make sure we understood our options and how they would effect us and our family today, at death and beyond. Sarah Fudge was able to guide me through the complicated and emotionally taxing process of establishing a guardianship. She is a clear communicator and was able to explain complex terms and the implications easily. When called or emailed, Sarah's responsiveness was surprisingly fast. The entire process from start to finish was much quicker than I anticipated. The costs of services were very reasonable and highly competitive with other law firms. Yet, there is no comparison for the personal, individualized service every person in their office provided us during difficult times in our lives. The professionalism, caring attitude, ability to make complex law understandable, responsiveness and expertise provided by this team of attorneys is priceless.

I felt that I had done the right thing to protect my father and get everything in order when his dementia had started impacting his financial decisions. Unfortunately, I did not know and had not been informed that I actually needed to take that paperwork and have it recorded with the county. He did well with paying all his bills but then the county took his property because he stopped paying taxes. Had I recorded the legal document Ms. Blackwell created I would have been notified he had stopped paying his property tax per the county tax office and could have rectified the situation preventing a disabled Vietnam Vet from now being homeless.

It took a week and a few days for the lawyers to return my phone call. After I called again for follow up, I had to leave a voicemail and was told my phone call would be returned by the end of the day. It's now been two business days and it's not returned. I will call again and conduct my own follow up with the agency as they seem incapable of merely returning phone calls.

I called Northwest Legal to ask about estate planning for my husband and me. We have a simple…read moreestate, no children, thus no major legacy goals around family or a business, but we do expect to have a chunk of remaining assets that will eventually go to charitable organizations. Because we don't have family to step in later, we will need a revocable trust and a professional trustee or fiduciary to manage things if we become incapable or after we pass. I explained the basics at the start of the call. The attorney's tone shifted "immediately" when he heard the word "simple." He launched into a long lecture about how the process "isn't simple," emphasized how much time (8-9 hrs. of meeting - ooh! wow!) and reading we would have to put into the process; we probably wouldn't like his rates and spoke in a way that felt dismissive and condescending - as if I was clueless about the estate planning process or had never worked with attorneys before. I never asked for a simple process; I simply described our estate. My husband and I are already familiar with the steps involved. I tried to redirect the conversation, because he had already clearly dismissed the call by saying, "Let me share more information," but based on the communication so far, I added that it might not be a good fit. Even then, he didn't ask what our actual needs were, and I never even got the chance to explain that we needed a professional trustee or fiduciary. The call ended without any meaningful discussion of services or options. I was shocked and disappointed, especially since he had been recommended by close friends. I left the call feeling talked down to rather than helped. We were genuinely trying to understand whether this firm could support us, but the interaction made it clear this wasn't the right place for respectful, client‑focused communication. He may not have been the right fit for our needs, but the call was handled in a way that felt dismissive and premature, especially since he didn't have enough information about our situation to make that judgment. His loss; we'll be moving on to someone better. Less money in his pocket to go buy a high-end suit! I rarely leave reviews, positive or negative, but felt compelled to share this experience so others know what to expect ...or better yet, know to look elsewhere.

At the hearing she told the court she needs to withdraw but when asked to proceed with the hearing by the court, she agreed to do so after she said she could not ethically represent me. By her stating she cannot ethically represent me and then representing me, she UNETHICALLY represented me. The hearing was critical to my case and her lack of understanding of the law and unpreparedness caused the judge to rule in the DA's favor. While she was my attorney she made outrageous recorded statements like...I don't have the time or resources to handle your case...If you had the money to hire an attorney, you would own these people... I still have to work here after your case is over (referring to the fact that she did not want to confront the DA and court for their actions because of the repercussions she would face if she did so)... This attorney is working for the state. If you hire her, you might as well hire the DA (Erik Knapp). She does not fight for her client's interest. I would give zero stars if it allowed me to. I will be posting the proof of all of this on YouTube. Just search for Rebecca Gouge.
