I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this law firm. The initial communication made it seem as though they were genuinely interested in reviewing and potentially taking my case. However, after speaking with them further, it became clear that they were never seriously considering it. The process felt misleading, as if they encourage people to reach out and share personal details about difficult situations, only to dismiss them once they decide the case is not large enough or profitable enough for them. My mom being dead for 7+ hours in front of a VERY public mall and security being negligent in not checking to see if she was okay wasn't a big enough buck for them. What made the experience even worse was the lack of empathy in how the situation was handled. One Star - Would Not Recommend My experience with Herrman and Herrman was extremely disappointing. Their communication is absolutely terrible. Every time I called to speak with my lawyer, I was told they were either "busy" or "not in the office." It felt impossible to get any real updates on my case. The process dragged on for years -- four, to be exact -- with no meaningful results. The staff was often rude and dismissive, and it became clear that if your case isn't worth millions, they will not make you a priority. They'll essentially sweep your case under the rug and hope you stop calling. Hold times are ridiculously long, and you're constantly transferred from person to person before you finally get to someone who might help -- if you're lucky. Stay away from this law firm. They don't have your best interests at heart, and their communication is poor with incompetent attorneys. During my case, which lasted over a year, it was transferred to two different attorneys. I only ever spoke with one her name is Meghan Hennessy. Who I found to be a lying, incompetent attorney who doesn't know anything so she just say whatever without even thinking or making sure it's true or not. Meghan Hennessy called me with a settlement offer four months after it had been given to her. She told me to accept it because she knew the claims adjuster and said it was the "best offer." There was no pushback, no negotiation, nothing and she went in to explain me to that insurance company won't pay the full amount be she they have to make money too which made wonder if she was in my side of the insurance company side. After all of this it only got worse as she told communicating to the point I had to find her manage name and email and cc her to get her attention not sure if she was over worked or what's as these big firm normally do but it was like pulling teeth they never ever call you have to call and beg for an update on your case this, this law firm is so incompetent that after over a year and near closing out my case I had to tell the attorney to file for Med pay which is $1000-$2000 you get from your personal insurance as like a small co-pay cash that you can use to do whatever. If you are reading this, do not use Herman & Herman for your personal injury case. Save yourself the trouble and wasted time. Even after I signed the settlement, the dollar amount changed by $2,000 from what I agreed to. The check was delayed for two weeks after I signed, supposedly because it was cut in the Corpus Christi office and mailed to the San Antonio office. When I went to pick it up, the office was closed. I called, and they told me the internet was down so everyone went home--after I had already been told to come get the check. Two days later, I was told again to go back, but once more the office was closed. The person who lived nearby refused to come and get the check from the mailbox. I've always considered myself a lucky person, but dealing with Herman & Herman was one problem after another 1. Before you sign make sure they provide a written guarantee that they won't pocket more than you do. Because from my experience and many before me your will see in the in review in the end the Herrman and herrman align with the medical providers will get more in pocket than you will. You don't pay you own medical bills so they take funds from you check for medical expenses then negotiate a lower price for you medical expenses where does the extra goes not to you because your check is already cut and issued 3.More than likely your attorney especially if your get Meghan Hennessy send every email cc her manager and assistance in each email to make everyone is up to date. On November 8, 2023, my husband, daughter, and I were involved in a car accident, and we made the decision to hire Herrman & Herrman for legal representation. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the worst decisions we could have made. Once we signed the paperwork, communication completely stopped. We never received a single call, email, or text to check on our well-being or provide updates on our case. Over a year went by with no updates, and when we finally received a call, it was from someone who was now handling our case - despite the fact we never signed any paperwork to have our case reassigned. Attorney Meghan Hennessy was assigned to our case, and things only got worse from there. She told us that our case had been sitting for over a year and that the audit team had reassigned it to her. After discussing the case with the at-fault driver's insurance adjuster, she suggested that we accept the insurance company's offer because it was unlikely we'd get any more money in a trial. However, this offer was presented to us without any negotiation or prior effort to advocate on our behalf. I refused to accept it, but after waiting weeks for a response, Meghan finally called with an update: the maximum offer from the at-fault insurance was an additional $500. After months of poor communication and a lack of action, I finally agreed to sign the itemized breakdown, which was $5,641.35 for myself and $2,187.50 for my daughter. Meghan assured me we would receive our checks within 30 days, but when I asked about my daughter's check potentially needing to go into a conservator account, she gave me incorrect information. This was my first time (and hopefully last time) hiring an attorney for personal injury related to a car accident. The short story is that I was rear-ended in June of 2022 on my way home from work.
