But, the most memorable thing about this place is the huge amount of Turkish rent boys that ply their trade! The management don't seem to bother about them, indeed I imagine they're the sole reason some of the older regulars go there. Sometimes there are no boys and sometimes they easily outnumber the customers. They all (at least the three times I've been there over the past two years) seem to be in their twenties. Some are average looking some are beautiful but they all seem to have one thing in common, when they get a drink, they can make a small glass of coke (they're muslim) last for hours - I guess the level of the drink drops not because the boy has drunk from it but because of evaporation! If you're an anthropologist, it's definitely worth a visit just to see how the rent-boys behave like seagulls! They know who has the money and who's not interested. if you're new they'll pester for a bit of trade until you tell them you're not interested. (First time I went a cutie offered me a BJ for €10, I wished I'd taken him up, however, I didn't know who would be the giver and who the receiver!) I saw him again last time I went, two years ago, and he obviously had had some considerable success because he wore a nice leather jacket (previously just some crumby t-shirt) and had had his hair done nicely. It's also worth noting that because they're Turkish and he Zaubermaus is in the Turkish quarter, they don't understand German very well; English is the de facto language there when communicating with the lads. They have security on the door whereby if the shutters are up the pub is open but you have to press the doorbell for them to let you in - I suppose they can refuse people they think aren't suitable such as male / female couples or groups of English lads! Worth a visit but absolutely definitely for gays only.

The schweinshaxe was enormous (1kg!) and delicious. The skin was so crispy, but the meat was moist and flavorful. The spargel was good, but I prefer my asparagus grilled and green. Fast and friendly service. Approximately $40 USD (excluding tip) for spargel, schweinshaxe, small beer and bottle of still water.
