There was no indigo or chapters and I am 44 years old now I've been able to read since I was five so for 39 years I've been buying books here. They have a wide selection of any kind of book you can imagine, with the exception of you know naughty stuff but through my years of ageing I know that I've gone from kids books to teenager books to young adult books every kind of book you can imagine I mean I like to read more than I like to watch TV there's something about a real book, smell of the pages and the ink. I think that plays a big role and putting you to sleep, when you read because when I read on my phone I don't get that. It's wrong as books are printed on paper. I will always buy them that way and this bookstore and I know I name three but they're all the same the best the absolute best, even when I lived in Toronto, I still went to chapters you get awesome deals awesome people that work there. I've never really had a problem with any employee so you got your customer service. You got your good deals and you got absolutely an unlimited amount of books and if you can't get your book in store well, you can get it online and have it delivered to the store for free, and if you order over a certain amount and gets $35, then they'll deliver it to your house for free. Either way you will get your book and at a reasonable price.

Polite, helpful service…read more I don't usually appreciate being met at the front door and bombarded with upselling but the lady at EB Games on Consumers Drive made it somehow charming. I accompanied my brother, who is an action figure aficionado, into the store. He was looking for Star Wars Black Series 40th Anniversary something-or-others. Surprisingly they had quite a few in stock and for great prices. The 6-inch Black Series figures usually go for around $30 at a minimum but she was selling them for around $21. She even had the limited edition R5-D4 from the 6-inch 12 Back replica line. (She doesn't have it anymore. Heh.) The store deals primarily in video games but people must not be hip to the action figures section as they had a good selection here at good prices.

Small store in a nice…read moreplace The Sand Piper is a tiny, one room souvenir shop located right in the center of the village of St Martin. Obviously the location optimizes the amount of summer tourist traffic since many of the large tour buses from St John park right across the street from the Sand Piper. The one room is packed with stuff and I suspect the owners live upstairs in the quaint little house. The place is so small that much of the merchandise is placed outside in the nice weather. Much of the usual touristy stuff can be found here including jewelry, art, cute signs, books and of course the ubiquitous crummy t-shirts and other clothing. A few humorous items but nothing really in bad taste, this is one of the more artistic and enjoyable souvenir shop you will find. Most of the stuff is pretty cheap although some of the art and jewelry will set you back a few bucks. I ended up buying a couple of fun books on the local history and a nice crummy t-shirt. Yep, it's just a souvenir shop designed to catch the tourists visiting the area but it is a cool little place and it's difficult to walk out without finding at least something you will drag back home with you.

We came upon this little village area, and stopped at the small tourist center across the road from the shop. While there, I saw a wonderful children's book and asked the center representative if the author was local. He said she was and when I asked if they sold any of her books, he said the Sandpiper did. That was our next stop, and it was a little treasure. Yes, they could use more room, but the quaintness is one of the things that makes it unique. While looking at their items (and sure, some are "tourist" things, but many others represent the area locals) and if you're interested in children's books, be sure to check those sold here written by Heidi Jardine Stoddart. Each has a short message and signature written by the author, making them especially nice for a keepsake gift for a child. Heidi and her husband live in Rothesbay, NB. She is an elementary school teacher, and a talented artist who illustrates her own books. My great-nephew is getting two for Christmas this year! I'd return to this shop in a heartbeat, and wish we live closer to the area! It's beautiful there.

Best Buy (formerly Future Shop)…read more While I was in town, I did some shopping at this Future Shop in Saint John. This electronics superstore has most of the toys, gadgets, music, movies, and video games that I enjoy, similar stock to Best Buy (closest Canadian location in Dartmouth, NS). Future Shop reminds me of the former Circuit City stores in the USA with the same bright red and white colors. This location is pretty organized compared to other locations I've been to in BC which seem like a mess. I browsed around the laptop computers, GPS units, big screen HDTVs, cameras, DVDs, and finally onto the good selection of music CDs, many titles not available in the USA. The CD prices here tend to be lower than the smaller mall stores. I did buy a few CDs by Canadian artists for the road, some priced at $9.99. I only wished there were Future Shop stores in the USA since Best Buy and Fry's Electronics are only game left there for electronics after Circuit City's departure. Yesterday, I had the very good fortune to talk with Jodi. She halped me with some information I was needing. When asked, she then took me to 3 books she highly recommended. We got into an in depth discussion re favourite books. She was very animated and eager to share her thoughts about her favourite books. I loved the experience and bought one of the books she recommended. When I went to the cash, I was speaking with the associate and she eagerly recommended a series of books I never would have known about had she not mentioned it. She directed me where to go in the store to find. It. I regret I forgot to get her name. I had a wonderful time browsing but these 2 women made my experience there even better by their service, their eagerness to recommend books and to discuss their plots, etc. I would highly recommend this store for many reasons and top of the list is the service from the associates. I love the personal touches like staff picks on the books with the associates name. I also love that each staff member has a features recommended book with a handwritten note of their comments for their choice. Ita a large store however the service and personal touches make it so enjoyable to go in store to browse and buy things and to I teract with the staff. Not this gs you can find when shopping online.

There was a row of nuts and a row of flours for baking. There was even bulk food for animals. We saw a few barrels of cookies, bouillon cubes and pasta. Nothing was as impressive as the rows of candy. They have almost anything covered in chocolate, gummy bears and every other gummy animal that you can think of! If you can pry your eyes away from all the barrels; they actually carry a large selection of baking products, cooking necessities, spices and chips. They also have a pretty great selection of organic products (flours, snacks, bars). If you're wondering where you would store all of your bags full of goodies, they also sell jars and other containers. I would be in trouble if I lived closer to this store!
