From the very first phone call, Dr. Fisse was incredibly professional, empathetic, and patient. This was an emergency situation, and she took the time to answer every call, text, and question we had before we made the difficult decision to let our beloved dog go. She never pressured us and made sure we fully understood the process from beginning to end. What meant the most to our family was how accommodating she was. Dr. Fisse worked around multiple schedules so that family members traveling from out of state and those working full-time could be present. She understood how important it was for us to be together and did everything she could to make that happen. During the visit, Dr. Fisse was gentle, loving, and incredibly kind to both our dog and our family. She never rushed us, gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes, and explained each step with such care and sensitivity. Her calm presence brought comfort during one of the most heartbreaking moments of our lives. While no one ever wants to be in this situation, we couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, dignified, and compassionate experience. Most pets were scared to get near the vet, and I don't blame them. When the X-ray machine was broken, he told people that their pet didn't need an x-ray (when it did) and told us afterwards that it was because he doesn't want to lose the money by sending them to another hospital. The vet tech sucks with anesthesia. One time a dog was put under but kept crying and twitching (which meant that the anesthesia was too light) and she did nothing. If I ever confronted anyone about the mistreatment, I was yelled at. They board dogs that they know are sick (for example they once boarded a dog with mange which is incredibly contagious) with the healthy pets. I once was instructed to hold a dog down onto the table by its neck and they kept instructing me to apply more force, until the dog's nose began to bleed. EVERY PERSON IN THE VET FIELD KNOWS THAT YOU DO NOT RESTRAIN A DOG BY PUSHING THEM DOWN BY THEIR NECK!! If I hadn't stopped and refused to do it after the dog's nose started to bleed, it could've suffered brain damage or worse. The place is so unsanitary that it is revolting. The ceiling above where the dogs are boarded is falling down, and the employees told me that it had fallen down before due to flooding but was never fixed. Kenny came over to meet me before my mom left me in his care. He was very, very nice and spent a long time with my mom making sure that he understood everything I needed. He spent quite a while getting to know me, which made me feel a lot more comfortable when he came to visit me! He was fun when he came over, he gave me fresh water and food and made sure I had my toys:) And most importantly, he gave me lots of love and attention and turned on the A/C To cool down the apartment.. Jenny also sent pictures of me to my mom letting me know how happy and well cared for I was. So she didn't worry about me.. I know it was a big relief to her, getting Kenny's pictures of me knowing that I was safe and happy because she is always hesitant to leave me by myself, she doesn't like me to be lonely. I wanted to write today to tell you about my Uncle Kenny, who is more of a best friend, really. My mom and dad hired Uncle Kenny when one of my old friends (note: NOT a bestie) had to move away and couldn't stop by anymore. He came over one night to meet me, explain his ground rules, make sure my parents wouldn't be terrible clients, and check out if I'd be agreeable (I am very much a scamp) and fit into his availability. He was very straightforward about expectations on both sides and how seriously he takes the responsibility of my being in his care, and luckily for me, they hit it off right from the beginning. He's been the Milo to my Otis ever since. Uncle Kenny comes over every weekday (and sometimes feeds my kitty brothers if my parents take me on a trip), and we go hunting for food scraps outside, even though he never lets me have them. He makes sure I get my exercise, even if it's raining (and I HATE the rain), and that I've got plenty to drink and play with (and maybe a carrot? please?), and he's got a little book in which he tells my daily story. Because I'm interesting and I do stuff (#1 AND #2 sometimes). He also knows me so well that he's the first to let my parents know if I'm run down or if I poo funny, and that I might need to visit my favorite place (I love the vet!). Basically, he's got my back, and I have his. So while I hate to share him, Uncle Kenny is the way to go if you're looking for someone you can trust who will be reliable and actually care about your furry best friend child. Over the years, we had taken him to six Vets and all were unsatisfactory. As soon as we walked into Meadowbrook, we were warmly greeted by all the girls at the front desk and the smiling faces of the waiting pet parents. Ashley even left the desk to say hello to our boy. The room was spotless, comfortable, no antiseptic smell, no barking dogs, and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. All our fur kids, dogs & cats, got along too! After a short wait, Dr. Amanda walked into the exam room and, upon meeting her, we immediately knew that we had found our Vet for life! She is totally amazing...warm and extremely knowledgeable. We discussed our boy's needs with her and she was totally on board. No extras were pushed on us and they were reasonable for their services. Still a puppy but alot more obidient. They have a team of trainers that work thoughout Suffolk, Nassau & NYC, and if you have an opportunity to take a look at their website you will see what I mean about their reputation and devotion. I just found out they have 11 dogs! Yikes. They take in dodgs that some or most people can not handle and then they fall into their pack.... I believe in doing business with small businesses and rest assured you will be very pleased with the results. They have a few different packages but one of the best features is that they meet in Holbrook every Monday night form 7:30-8:30 or 7-8pm, my puppy hasn't been invited to the class yet but he's almost there.
