They were very dismissive of the fact that I am not comfortable doing the fillings without gas. We set up a new appointment and they said they'll "let me know" if they have the nitrous oxide for next time.

My visit to Coast Dental Metro West was alarmingly disappointing. I initially scheduled a 2:00 PM appointment at Coast Dental Metro West. I received a text stating there was an issue with the online booking and requesting to move it to 3:30 PM. I called the office to confirm and spoke with Alejandro, who told me there was no record of my original 2:00 PM appointment but then scheduled me for 3:30 PM. I took time off work to attend the 3:30 PM appointment. When I arrived, the waiting room was completely full and a letter taped to the reception window explained they were short staffed. I checked in and asked how long the wait would be. The receptionist, who was very friendly and professional, said it could be about 30 minutes. I pointed out that there were at least six people already waiting and that I had overheard others asking how much longer it would be. She still estimated around 30 minutes. I waited patiently and by 4:30 PM the receptionist told me they would need to reschedule because they were still running behind and the dentist was leaving at a set time (5 PM). After waiting an hour in the office, I was turned away with no service. I called Coast Dental's Patient Quality Assurance line at (877) 880-1212 to report the experience. The patient advocate apologized but also admitted I was not the first person to complain about this issue, which is deeply concerning. He advised this was documented but offered nothing else. This office charges cancellation and no show fees to patients, yet offers no compensation or accountability when they cancel on a patient who has already arrived, waited, and rearranged their workday. If a patient is expected to respect the office's time, the office should respect the patient's time just as much. This was a complete waste of time and a poor reflection of how they manage scheduling and patient care. This level of disorganization and disregard for patients' time is completely unacceptable.
