This is just a little corner shop but the food and service was top notch!!!…read more I ordered grilled vegtables with a friend and it was enough for 4 people and they were delicious. Five of us dined outside (ok it could use cozier chairs and some tiles on the dirt floor, but we were outside). Everyone enjoyed their food and wine and you know that isn't easy with five ladies along. The server was perfect and he was all alone so he was literally running around. He made sure to watch us all as we took our first bites of food and was ready to come right over as we looked at the chicken (which was break apart tender as it must have been slow roasted). Everything was delicious and seasoned well, the only complaint is that we had too much food (is that really a complaint)? The location is perfect as you look over the Roman Bridge and the beautiful skyline of historic Cordoba. We walked past this place every day from our hotel to the old town and visited it on our last night...big bummer as we would have gone every night if we had tried it on our first night. This stands out in service and food since the service in Spain is less than we are used to in the states and we had a horrible meal and horrible service at the first restaurant we visited in Cordoba. Spain loves it's tapas but it's hard to get a real meal and this one was top notch. Again, it's outside and rustic (there is indoor seating) but we just enjoyed ourselves so much. Huge kudos to the server, he made our trip and proves that the Spanish can offer great service, you just need to find it.

It still tasted great and it was quick and inexpensive. We paid double this for mediocre tapas in Madrid. It didn't compare to the excellent tapas we had in Barcelona but for the time and price it was perfect. There was plenty to choose from and we were looking forward to an omelet that they forgot to make, which was fine as the portions were large and we didn't quite finish everything. For €15.50 we had a large water, bread, Russian salad, red pepper salad, anchovies in vinegar, albondigas (meatballs) in salsa, chorizo in wine and mousse sabores (mostly chocolate). We liked every dish to varying degrees. The dishes were tasty and tasted homemade like you'd get at a church pot luck. The chorizo was a bit strong for us but we aren't ordinarily chorizo fans. The anchovies were a bit salty (ok so anchovies are always salty, but we don't like anchovies and we liked these well enough). The cafeteria is cross-corner to the Torre de la Calahorra. So if you sit out front you'll have great views of the tower.

O Mundo De Alicia is by thus far my favorite café that I've had the pleasure of being introduced…read moreto in Córdoba (thank you, my dear Spanish intercambio). With a whimsical, minimalistic interior and relatively quiet ambiance, this café is a place to come by when you want to study, meet and talk with companions, and even maybe do a language exchange trivia night once every week. The coffees and teas are nothing particularly special, but I do like their torta de frambuesa y chocolate. It's dense and has more of a cheesecake-texture than anything, and it's a great deal for 2 people to share for 3 EU total. You can also find your typical array of Spanish beverages here, including cervezas and tinto de verano. If you're looking for a combo, there are options where you can get a tostada (toasted bread with toppings) and beverage for anywhere from 2-3 EU, more or less. From memory, an orange juice & tostada con jamón is around 3,15 EU. Admittedly while not the absolute best of deals you can typically find in Córdoba, it's doable. While studying in cafés seems to be more of an American thing, nevertheless I'll say that studying here can be quiet pleasant, although not highly recommended after the sun sets. Lights inside are dim and unless you're working on your ordenador/laptop, it'll pose a problem. So while it's not the ideal place to idly sit and read or study with some simple beverages and array of snacks, come on over because it's lovely.

Amazing selection of tea- try the galleta de San Nicolás!, good coffee. They heat the muffins too, which works great on a chocolate muffin. Trying to get milk for tea of another coffee is difficult- follow up service isn't great. We went at 11:20 am and were not able to order from the lunch menu, which had many more options. Delightful local cafe. Would definitely recommend.
