I recently purchased a vehicle from Heritage Mazda on York Road and had a wonderful experience with the sales team. However, I was very disappointed with the lack of transparency from the finance department, particularly with David Dowd. I was not informed that this package was non-cancelable until after I had signed the paperwork. The product they applied only took about ten to fifteen minutes to complete. When I immediately requested a cancellation, the manager refused, saying the product had already been applied and pointing to the fine print. UPDATE: The General Manager, Steve, personally reached out to me to resolve the issue, and is processing my refund. I truly appreciate his quick response and willingness to make things right read more

I visited this dealership with my husband. Throughout our visit, the staff directed almost all of their conversation to him and rarely made eye contact with me. The salesperson asked only for my husband's driver's license for the test drive and never asked whether I would also like to drive. My husband didn't realize I was being ignored until I mentioned it afterward, which shows how subtle this kind of treatment can be if you're not the one experiencing it. We ultimately decided not to buy the car because it wasn't the right fit for us. However, I wanted to share my experience because I left feeling invisible and unwelcome as a customer. As we were leaving, the staff shook my husband's hand but not mine, which reinforced that impression. read more

I bought my Mazda 3 here years ago and I have had it serviced here for all that time. I took my car in for an oil change, brake fluid flush and fill, and spark plugs replaced. The car has 62,000 miles so it was time for the plugs to be changed. They quoted me $493.00 just to change out the spark plugs! Are you kidding me? I had an appointment for 11 am I got there at 10:45. They did not get my car into the shop until 1:10pm I have never had this kind of issue with them before but, I am going to start looking around for and alterative shop. I just bought the spark plugs online from NGK (OEM) for less than $70.00. That's a $423.00 profit for the shop! Insane! I will now have to DIY it and I am a bit worried with cars and the computer systems today. If you do one thing not just right you got a problem. I doubt that I will by my new Mazda there when the time comes, and it's coming soon enough. Do better Heritage Mazda. read more

I am writing to formally express my awareness to consumers regarding my concerns on the purchase of my 2022 Mercedes C300 I recently purchased from Mazda Towson on 2/13/26. Within approximately two hours of purchasing the vehicle, I took it through a car wash and immediately discovered that the sunroof was leaking a substantial amount of water into the interior cabin of the car. I promptly reported this issue to the sales manager, "Dwight", and inquired about their 30-day/1,000-mile warranty on used vehicles. He advised that I could bring the vehicle back so the sunroof seal could be sprayed or treated with rejuvenating foam to see if that would correct the issue. However, I live roughly 2 1/2 hours away from their dealership, making this option impractical. I explained that this defect required immediate attention because water intrusion near the center dash could damage sensitive electronic components, especially during inclement weather. Because of the urgency, I took the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz of Fredericksburg, VA,which is only about 20 minutes from my home. They diagnosed and repaired the issue for only $230.00 dollars. I then contacted the general manager, David Dowd, to request reimbursement for what should reasonably have been the dealership's responsibility, given that the defect was discovered almost immediately after purchase. I provided an explanation and proof of payment from Mercedes Benz of Fredericksburg, VA. Initially, I received no response from the General manager "Mr Dowd" . After following up with Dwight, I finally received a reply from (general manager) Mr. Dowd indicating that the dealership would not reimburse the repair cost. I find this response extremely disappointing. I had not even made it home from the dealership before discovering a mechanical issue, yet the dealership is unwilling to cover a modest repair cost tied directly to a pre-existing defect. When I arrived at the dealership to see the vehicle, I inquired if the vehicle had been detailed as I requested, and the manager "Dwight " stated that the detailer was not skilled enough to polish the vehicle and that they did not have anyone there to do it. he further stated that he worked on Mercedes vehicle and that he had done some of the repairs since they don't have a tech which would explain the reasoning as to why the sunroof was altered and the track had to be realigned by a professional technician as explained by Mercedes Benz Of Fredericksburg, VA. Additionally, I have contacted the dealership multiple times regarding the second key that was promised to me in writing on an IOU at the time of purchase. I have received no response to my emails, and my calls and voicemails are now going unanswered. I would also like to note my dissatisfaction with the overall customer experience. I was told the vehicle would be filled with gas, yet it was delivered with only half a tank. I was informed that this is their policy for used vehicles, which was ridiculous and disappointing, especially given the overall purchase price of approximately $26,000 dollars for the vehicle. Apparently, as stipulated by a sales representative Tyler Leah, they only fill up vehicles purchased thatare brand new. ‍ For comparison, the vehicle I traded in was a certified vehicle from Mercedes-Benz of Chantilly, VA,and had no mechanical issues and the car was filled up with gas like a respectable dealer would do. To experience a significant defect within the first hour of ownership, followed by difficulty obtaining responses from dealership management after the finalized purchase has been extremely frustrating and shows the level of ignorance and unprofessionalism I was dealing with. When they were trying to sell the car I couldn't get them to stop calling and inquiring if I were interested now they completely ignore a customer spending a significant amount of money. I'm a US army Disabled Vet and medically retired LEO and should not have been treated this way. Especially for this amount of money. I DO NOT recommend this business ANYONE! read more

Both the Sales Manager Daniel Chaconas and my Sales Consultant Chris Hammond provided me with the best customer service I could hope for. They went above and beyond to help me find the perfect car for me. I had a pretty good experience here. I purchased an older used car here at the end of August and everything was relatively smooth. I didn't receive the Carfax and they didn't immediately fix the Spare tire but ultimately both were resolved. I really liked my sales person, Ehsan, he was good and everyone was very pleasant and very nice. My only real downside was some of the dealership tactics and the price of the vehicle was wayyy overpriced for the year. Definitely recommend negotiating as aggressively as you can, these cars are not worth the price tag many times unfortunately. So far my car has not had any issues, so I would recommend them. read more

It had been nearly 30 years since my last purchase from Heritage Mazda, dating back to their days in Owings Mills. After being away for over two decades, I found myself back in town to help my mom upgrade her vehicle. Given my familiarity with the Heritage name and our interest in a Mazda, we decided to visit Heritage Mazda in Towson early on a Saturday morning. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of outstanding. The team at Heritage Mazda is honest, transparent, and refreshingly straightforward--a rarity in today's car-buying landscape. My sales consultant, Eshan Mehryar, and another gentleman, Amen, assisted us with the transaction, ensuring the entire process was smooth and efficient. Even though we negotiated a bit via text throughout the day, we finalized the deal by 3 PM, returned to the dealership at 4 PM, and were out the door by 6:30 PM--with absolutely no hassle or unnecessary back-and-forth. Buying a car is never easy, but Eshan, Amen, and the entire Heritage Mazda team made it an enjoyable and seamless experience. What's truly remarkable is that, even after more than 20 years, Heritage once again earned our business. That speaks volumes about their consistency, integrity, and commitment to customer satisfaction. A heartfelt THANK YOU to Eshan, Amen, and the entire team at Heritage Mazda Towson! You've set the bar high for what a car-buying experience should be. https://youtu.be/YJBbCSCB8Hc?si=I88CaXpN9SuYlaZX read more

regret ever stepping foot into the Towson Mazda dealership. I've been a loyal Mazda owner since 2021 and had a wonderful experience at the Bel Air location, but Towson has been the complete opposite. When I bought my 2025 Mazda here, they processed a tag transfer without telling me or asking my permission. They never explained what that meant, never told me I needed to keep my tags, and left me completely in the dark. I had never heard of this before, so when they handed me my old tags back, I assumed I was supposed to take them to the MVA--which created a whole mess. When I went back for help, not only did they refuse to give me temporary tags, they flat-out lied and said I had requested the transfer myself. That is absolutely false. They did it to save themselves money and didn't care that it left me stuck without answers. I worked with John and Jenna, and neither one of them was honest or transparent with me. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service here is beyond disappointing. Instead of helping me, they brushed me off and left me to figure it out on my own. This dealership is dishonest and only looks out for themselves. I would never recommend Towson Mazda to anyone, and I will never buy another car from them again. read more

What can I say? I'm now a member of the Zoom Zoom family. I was in the market for a new vehicle and I already knew it was going to be a Mazda. I went to the sister dealership in Catonsville and received absolutely no attention until I was walking out the door. I had the exact opposite experience when I walked into this Towson location. Not more than 5 mins after walking in Mike (I think) the manager, walked over an introduced himself. He then let me know that Austin (my fantastic salesman) would be over to assist me shortly. Austin came over introduced himself and went right to work looking for the car with the specifics I was looking for. He let me take the car out for a test drive alone!!! At no point did I feel pressured to buy but clearly after the one on one I was ready to show them the money....smh!! I arrived at the dealership at around 2pm, I left after 8pm, they close at 6pm on Saturdays. I ate jerky (provided by Austin) and drank bottles of water while singing my life away with Steve (finance man). My whole experience was smooth from beginning to end. I'm happy I choose this location to purchase my new ride. read more

Heritage Mazda Towson - Waiting service area - Car Dealers Near Me - Towson, Maryland

I have been coming here for years to get oil changes. They schedule appointments and are pretty on point with keeping with schedule. They also have the option to wait in the center during service, do a pick up/drop off, or rent a loaner vehicle to take out while you wait. Over the years, I have used all of these options and they are a nice touch. For the first time I had them complete other work on my car (new tires and brakes all around). This work was beyond expensive at the dealer, but I felt compelled because they were the only ones to ever look at my car. A few days after service, my car started making horrible noises --- it has never made any kind of noise. I had to go back 3 times to have my car looked at and finally the brakes were changed out. Verdict still out on if this fixed the problem. It's hard to properly gauge how to review this shop because everyone was extremely helpful the entire time, but no one wants to deal with dealer induced car troubles, especially after paying thousands of dollars. read more

I purchased my cx30 turbo, and was very pleased of the overall help I received. Will be back

I hesitate to leave a one star review mainly because I purchased my two Mazda CX5 models here, and purchasing was not at all difficult and there were plenty of models available. However, their service department is no longer efficient, honest, nor attentive. On my recent visit this week, I arrived to find two customers highly dissatisfied with the both the wait and communication from staff. When I checked in (for a pre-scheduled appointment) I was told there would be a two hour wait-before my car was even looked at. Service person said there was no way to communicate with scheduling department to tell them they were currently under construction and didn't have room for all the customers. Really? Do we not live in a time of over-communication? So, I left. Went to a local Valvoline service center for a simple oil change and tire rotation, done in 30 minutes with excellent service and paid 20% less. Needless to say, I will not return to Heritage Mazda for servicing my vehicle. read more

Paulette, and Amin helped me leave with the car that best fit my needs. I am very happy to be a new car owner, without the high fee hassle. The dealership is very clean, and even the restrooms. I took the Amtrak in from DC after having zero luck finding a good car (with a reasonable price) in the DMV area. A friend of a friend recommended this dealer, and after reading several review sites decided to take a 2-hour adventure. Before arriving, I had my bank loan ready and sent the VIN number to a sales rep (the lovely Paulette) to ensure it was in stock. I was looking for a standard Mazda3 - nothing fancy or fully loaded. I also asked if I could bring my puppy along, and they said yes! I'm a first time car buyer, and the process was so nice compared to the car buying horror stories you read about. Paulette had my car of choice ready when I arrived for a test drive. She kindly walked me through all of the features (even ones I didn't think to ask about), and put me at complete ease. Even my puppy felt comfortable! Because I already had my financing in order, that part was a breeze. The extended coverage and additional add ons did feel like a haggle, but that was to be expected and I never once felt uncomfortable. I think in the current market, you have to go in well researched and with clear expectations. Sure, small negotiations can be made but nothing like the haggling of years past. Paulette is an absolute joy, and everyone working there always greeted me with a smile. I thought I might get a few judgmental looks for having a puppy in tow, but it was quite the opposite! Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my experience! read more

I came here recently for a warranty repair on my car and had a very positive experience. I don't know what car buying is like here but the service department is solid. A few years ago I got a recall notice for the lift gate damper on my car. I went to what used to be my closest dealership but they didn't have the necessary part in stock so I forgot about it. The part finally failed and my old dealership had closed so I went here because they were the closest one I could find. Initially I was worried because old dealership had opened up some sort of support case for my car in Mazda's system and when they closed the repair was marked as completed even though I'd never gotten the new part. Fortunately Karl, the service advisor I dealt with got everything sorted out without any hassle on my end. I don't know what happened behind the scenes but I really appreciated his helpfulness. I came back a couple of hours later, my car was fixed and everything was good to go. read more

When my 2011 CX7 needed extensive repairs several years ago, I brought it here and met with DORA NORMAN, the Service Manager and her staff. The repairs were done (and they were extensive). Since then, I trusted Heritage Mazda Towson with the car. When I lost the CX7 in an accident, my first call was to Dora to find a sales rep to purchase another vehicle. She recommended RALPH PRICE. I waited a couple of days and met with him. I hate buying cars, but Ralph was a great sales rep. He spent hours with me and we leased a 2021 CX30 in the end. There is so much to learn about cars these days and Ralph took about another hour and a half going over every feature of my top of the line CX30. So...for service, Dora and her crew are the tops, and if you need/want a car, ask for Ralph. You won't be sorry. read more

The salesman and manager were pleasant. The finance guy was a little too pushy (actually, bit of a bully) about the extended warranty. But the real problem here is time. I've purchased two cars from CarMax, both involving a trade-in. First time, it took 1 hour and 15 minutes, the other, 45 minutes, both of which included a test drive. Total time at Heritage: 4 hours and 10 minutes, not including drive time to and from Bethesda. The price was reasonable and the buying experience (minus the finance guy) ok, but I simply don't have the time to spend all day at the dealer. By the way, CarMax stock price currently is $93 and Carvanna $200. Mazda is $5.50. read more

I still can't believe the excellent car buying experience I had at Heritage Mazda Towson yesterday. Never mind that I got a beautiful car! Austin our consultant was the first 100% expert, professional, patient , and kind Sales Consultant I've ever had. This is what it should always be like to buy a car. The General Manager, Omid, was also great, as was Jody the Internet Sales Consultant. We got a great deal, no hassle at all, and constant friendly helpfulness throughout. I can't say enough about Austin's skills and demeanor. We were dreading going in based on all of our past experiences. Still can't believe it. Thank you Heritage Mazda Towson! read more

Was looking into buying a CX-5 - well, definitely not and never buying from here! Felt mocked because I didn't feel comfortable going inside with covid if I wasn't even going to buy a vehicle that day, like I completely understand they need to make sales but coercing in a mocking and derogatory tone is not the best marketing strategy, just FYI Jody. If you're expecting business, maybe being rude isn't the way to go. Maybe it's because I'm a young, Asian female so it's seemingly "easier" to make more profit off of people like me, but during these times, these kinds of experiences (basically bullying) are NOT what I need. Going to silver spring, as they are much more friendly and are actually willing to work with me without being so forceful. Something to learn. read more

I just had a horrible experience here but I'm gonna keep it simple. If you're young and a woman you won't be be taken seriously. Ricky made me EXTREMELY uncomfortable and took me as a joke. I recently acquired a new Mazda3 from this dealership (with salesman Kevin Bonovich) and was truly startled at how painless the process was. No bait-and-switch. The exact car I had asked for, with no complications or problems. The pricing was in line with (on the inexpensive end) Kelly Blue Book's "fair value". Very quick on the paperwork. Very little upsell (though a lot of maintenance packages were available). Floormats included. Only complaints: the smaller dealership's staffing was such that I ended up having to wait for a while each of the two days I was there, but honestly, for the kind of purchase I make only once every few years I'd rather wait a bit for better quality service. I've written reviews for all kinds of places, but I didn't think I'd ever be writing a 5-star review for a new car dealership. If you're in the market for a Mazda in the region, this is the place to go. read more

I was previously with rich Morton Mazda when I had my 2016 Mazda 6, but I wanted a dealership that was a little closer since I live in Catonsville. I went to Catonsville Mazda first since it's a mile from my house, but I waited around for over an hour for a sales person and they all just walked past me. So I went down the road to Heritage Mazda. I was greeted almost immediately by Mrs. Paulette! We sat down and she took me out in a Mazda 6 carbon. I fell in love and needed that car! It was late at night when I got there since I wasted so much time at Catonsville. But she had me in and out pretty quick. They also got me a really great deal on my trade in and maintenance plan! I've been with Heritage Mazda Towson for almost year and have loved every second of it! I love how you get a video on every maintenance as they walk you through what they did with your vehicle while it was with them, it's a nice comfort to see how thorough they are. I have a 2017 Mazda 6 which I lease. The lease is for 10,000 miles a year as I knew I wouldn't drive it much. Recently the rear brakes made a horrible sound so I took it in for service. The car had approximately 13,300 miles. The brakes had to be replaced but I was told it was because the car sat around and wasn't driven. While the car wasn't driven much, it was driven. I argued and they did replace the brakes under warranty but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Now the front pads were worn out. I just paid to replace them. Didn't need to listen to the service people blame me for that too. But I very much doubt I'll deal with this dealership again and this is the 4th car I have leased from them. Answer to Heritage's response I reached out to the service manager and she said they would have been glad to look at front brakes. Well I knew they would. My point is they would tell me again that it isn't Mazda's issue. So why waste my time. I'll just get a car that doesn't have defective brake pads. Plus I'll go to a dealership that cares. Guess I cant go below one star. read more

Bo is great sold us three cars! Service has been courteous and helpful! We've purchased three vehicles from them in four years and had every vehicle serviced there. Here's where the poor rating comes in play; finance guy never called our insurance company to give them the new vin number. He took all our information and promised us multiple times to take care of it, he did not. Not only have we not had insurance but now we're faced with penalties from the state. The GM's response sorry but it's your responsibility to check. On top of that they still owe us money from the cancellation of extras that we had on the trade in. I've purchased at least 15 new cars in my life and never have I ever experienced this. This is unacceptable on all levels. I will never buy another vehicle from any heritage store. This was my third Mazda and I've purchased 2 Hondas. They simply don't care. read more

If you are going for car maintenance or repair go to any other local mechanic, this place is very scammy, and will try to milk out as much money as possible. They will charge you to inspect the car before anything is even done. They will charge you to clean up any oil for 150, and charge your self charging car battery for 60, they also will charge 3 times as much as a local mechanic, if you have the option go there. In addition don't expect a shuttle service or a loaner like advertised, I asked for a shuttle they said it would be ready in 20 minutes I was there for an hour before they forgot to even schedule it. Went in for routine maintenance on my car. The mechanic comes out to the waiting area with a horribly dirty cabin filter and tells me that this and the air filter in my car need to be changed and that the total would be about $300. He then goes on to say that the air filter could wait until my next visit but the cabin needed to be done that day. The thing looked horrible, discolored and with little maple seeds in it, so I told him to go ahead and just do the cabin filter. When I went to pay, it was $180, not the $150 that I had been told and the guy told me that the $150 was for the other service that I had deferred. When I came home, my husband told me that we could have bought the filter for under $20 for original Mazda equipment and that it would take less than 5 minutes to change it out - ditto for the one they said "could wait" This makes me FURIOUS. I am a good and trusting customer. Apparently, this translates in Heritage's eyes to a "stupid/gullible" customer who they could scalp on prices. This ridiculous price gouging goes well beyond "making a profit" My husband came into the dealership later the same day for an oil change and the guy brought him out a dirty filter too. Interestingly enough, both were discolored and both had an abundance of little maple "propeller" seeds sticking out of them. Even more interesting that we don't have maple trees at our house and neither of us parks anywhere near maple trees. Wondering if it was the same grotty one they save and show people they think will be gullible(?) My husband and I hadn't spoken about my experience at that point (he turned down the proffered "service") I had similar and major issues with the Heritage Subaru in Owings Mills with them being negligent with things that needed to be done and telling me about over priced things which didn't, but had thought that was isolated to the one location. Rather, it seems endemic within the whole Heritage Automotive Group. My husband and I both love our Mazdas, but the next time we I need to buy cars, we will find a dealer outside of the Heritage group. read more

Let me just say, "Wow". This was probably the fastest, most painless purchase of a vehicle I have ever done, and that's counting I had extra stuff I had to do on my end. I truly went up there just to ~look~ at a car, and within 60-90 minutes I was driving home in it! Let's start with my sales professional, Bo Hudson, who was awesome. He showed me all the ins-and-outs of the vehicle and knew every nook and cranny. Then we went on a test drive, where we went over what I was looking for, the specifics about the car, and I got a nice feel. Upon returning, I was sold but then it came time for the paperwork and payment. I had nothing down and was going to get a loan out of my own bank. Bo and Mazda worked with me, allowing me to get a temporarily held loan through their financing which I could either stick with or pay off within a week. Bo also took what paperwork I had and simply gave me a reminder of several other pieces I needed to return within that same week. There was no hassle, no pushiness, just support and patience. Another love was the automatic trade-in and one they were willing to negotiate on. I had shown in my old vehicle and they took it on the spot. Their assessment was fair, yet they were willing to bring the offer up to seal the deal. Even missing the title (which I kept at home) and having to take personal effects out was no issue; they told me to leave all trash in the car, bring the title back, and call if there was anything I forgot. This worked well because I forgot two key items and Bo was able to grab them all the way up to the moment I returned almost a week later! For those looking for a good vehicle with no hassle, good prices (they were about $1500 less than CarMax), and supportive staff then I definitely recommend Heritage Mazda in Towson. I hopefully won't need a new car for another 5-6 years, but if I do I know I'll be coming back here! read more

In 2015 i bought my new car from Heritage Mazda Towson. I have enjoyed owning the CX-5. I wanted to give the dealer a chance to fix a loose panel and replace the brakes. I had called other repair shops for comparison estimates. They both ran about $350. Unfortunately I was disappointed with Heritage, final bill $455 and they wouldn't tighten the panel without a labor charge. i was also given an estimated completion tine of 50 minutes and it took 2 hours. I took my Protege 5 in to get it's 125k service and Dora in the service department was extremely helpful over the phone, and the price was not bad at all. They did the service work in quick manner and gave me a heads up, with no pressure that I needed brake work done in the near future. Cannot believe I am posting a positive review on a dealership. My only draw back from the experience was when I initially called to make an appointment, someone at a call center gave me incorrect pricing and incorrect service department hours for the Lutherville location. Yes, I do plan to return to them for my brake work, instead of finding a mechanic at this time. :) read more

My wife and I are city dwellers, not well versed in the practice of buying automobiles. However, with two kids under the age of three continuing to get bigger and bigger, we decided it was time to make the plunge. A minivan wasn't the most romantic vehicle to swallow, until we stumbled upon a Mazda 5 in Takoma Park one morning. After researching it, we were sold; and then the pursuit began.
