The food service is appalling. My husband lost weight every day he was there. They served condensed cream of mushroom soup with every lunch and dinner but didn't know how to prepare it. Frequently it was straight from the can, rarely did they add milk - it was usually water, lumpy and very thin. They couldn't do a diabetic diet at all. The portions were so small, the nurse frequently had to give him cookies to raise his blood sugar to non-dangerous levels. There were very few vegetables and they were cooked to mush. Rarely had bread. Occasionally had canned fruit - never fresh! I don't know who planned their menus but none of them met basic nutritional requirements.
The nursing staff, personal care technicians, physical and occupational therapists were wonderful. If you have a loved one here, just plan on bringing all of their meals from home. read more
