This place is the best!!! For instance look at the is beautiful cat her name is Poppy (originally lava cake) They have very much affordable pets! This cat loves cuddling and she purrs 24/7. I will definitely adopt another in the future!!!

We come here a lot because my daughter absolutely loves cats but we just don't have the time to spend with one and she's a little too young in my opinion (3years old) the staff are always very happy and friendly. Today we went and we got a free lesson in cat upper respiratory infections and how they can spread really fast and ways to prevent it. They really seem to care a lot about the animals they take in, it shows in the sweet, loving way the employees interact with the animals.

Hope you are doing okay and the shelter gave you your medicine sweet love.

I have no idea how I haven't reviewed NACC yet, so in honor of our dawg's Gotcha Day coming up,…read morehere I am! The staff and volunteers absolutely do a fantastic job here, and the animals receive attention and love while they wait for their forever home. I followed them on Facebook for a while, watching longingly as adorable photo/bio combinations popped up in my feed, sometimes showing the Husband pups who were particularly sweet-sounding. It's all about breaking the resistance down slowly over time. Drip effect, folks. They've been indoctrinated without even realizing it and suddenly the whole family is in the car on their way to see a sweet Husky girl. Who of course is already adopted when you get there. And of course your son falls in love with a handsome pit bull who OF COURSE you take home instead. This is the cheapest animal I've ever adopted, and he came neutered, microchipped, tagged, vaccinated, and checked for food and toy aggression. Moreover, he's been the best friend for our son for a year now. Maybe they could have warned us that he's a bed hog, though!

PLEASE LISTEN TO THE OTHER 1 STAR REVIEW. I had the same experience…read more I went to this shelter earlier this week and fell in love with a beautiful cat. I was told I was the third applicant and that I would be contacted if the first 2 applicants were no longer interested. I received an email that the cat was available and asked me if I was still interested. I sent 4 emails and left 1 voice message the same day. 2 days later I sent a fifth email and received a short reply that the cat was given to someone else. Should you apply for a cat or dog, sure, but expect the shelter to play some games with you. I was a longtime foster with NACC and have donated for years. I'll be taking my business elsewhere since they can't be decent enough to respect my time.

My absolute favorite place!! I've been coming here since they were first open (at the past…read morelocation) and only have nice things to say about this establishment. My friend adopted a kitten (about a year ago) and had 0 issues with the process, health of the cat, and an overall amazing experience. The baby is now all grown up and probably the sweetest cat I've ever known. You can also tell the employees and owners care about these cats so much, they know every cat's name, trait, and things they like and don't like. I was also in the cafe near closing and the owner and one of the employee let me and my friend feed some of the cats treats in the back room even though they were 5 minutes from closing time. They have an amazing variety of all different kinds of kitties and it's so cool to see them interact with each other in such a relaxed, peaceful environment. They also offer refreshments, merchandise, and activities that have definitely improved and keep getting better every time I come back. I have been to some other cat cafes across the water and even 1 in a different state and this one takes the cake, hands down. Thank you to the owner and employees for giving these fur angels the proper care they deserve all while looking for their forever homes. If you have the time, definitely come visit, and if you are looking to adopt this is the place.

We visited Cups and Claws Cat Cafe and had the best time! The cats are clearly well cared for,…read moresafe, and happy. They were all friendly and cuddly with us. The ambience and decor were really nice. There were countless beds, hiding spots, climbing objects, scratching posts, etc. The chairs and couches were comfortable for humans as well and they offer games and activities. It's a wonderful cause, very special, and quite an affordable activity. We spent about $22 to visit and play with the kitties, and the funds go towards keeping them out of cages/shelters, warm, and safe. This is also a great option if you're looking to adopt since you can really spend time with the kitties and get to know them as a potential family member. I can't wait to go back!

I genuinely do not know why this place has such a low rating. I just went this morning and upon…read morestepping out of my car I was immediately greeted by the employees & volunteers. No, they're not like every other shelter and that's the point in my opinion. Typically you when you think of a shelter you think of one that just has rows of dogs inside a facility. Not here they have outside shelters with heating and more room to stretch than any other shelter I can honestly say I've been to. I went early in the morning and they already had dogs out for walks and out in their gated spaces to stretch. I've read the negative reviews here each saying how they didn't appreciate being told what to do when trying to adopt a dog. I understand that every person has a predetermined mindset of what dog they want and why. However, we have to understand these people work with these dogs everyday some have probably known the dogs since they arrived at the shelter. They're going to know what the dog needs better than we are. They're making sure who they send them home with is going to be a match so the animal doesn't end up back in a shelter. I came today to visit itty & bitty which were the cutest mini beagles I've ever seen. (Seriously someone please adopt these babies if I don't) Immediately I was notified on how the process worked. It was cut dry and not in a rude way! They let me know exactly what to expect. Gave me background history on the dogs. Let me know what would be best for them to help transition into a new home. To go further with adoption I'd have to let them meet my dogs I already own. (Which in my opinion every shelter should do) Even makes sure my own animals are up to date on vaccines before going any further. Which is amazing! They truly care about these animals and they're making sure they're not set up for failure with who they're sent home with. There is so much this shelter does for their dogs that I have personally never seen in any other shelter. Already I know if I go through with adding another furry friend to my life it will be through this shelter. I implore everyone to come to this shelter if you're thinking about adopting.

I would give this place a zero-star rating if possible. The volunteer staff are friendly and…read morehelpful, but the administrators do not follow their own criteria for adoption. My family tried on 3 different occasions to adopt a dog and each time we were turned down without their ever checking our references, visiting our home/viewing photos, or asking questions about our application. On the third try in our attempt to adopt a poodle, Stephanie, who apparently makes the decisions (not a committee as claimed) called and gave some very lame excuses about why someone else was chosen. I'm sorry to say I lost my temper because that just helped her to assuage any guilt she might have had about not following procedure. I believe they let the best dogs go to people they know. She said the person who got the poodle had experience with the breed. My family has had nearly 25 years' experience with poodles, which she would have known had she followed the procedure they claim to use. Our 10-year-old was very disappointed, and we will not put her through that again!
